    138_MMA Tyler I'm glad your a good sport about getting picks wrong and having someone call them out on it after unlike Liam.Picks who blocked me for holding him accountable for that D.Flowers to beat Michael Johnson pick he made and tried to play off it next video as if was a good pick. saying " It went the way he thought it would go " and told him: no you didn't, you picked D.Flowers, {yelled and then blocked. smh

    REALLY think youre underselling/underestimating Almeida bro (Cesar, not Jailton lol). Hes looked SUPER impressive since transitioning to MMA and that Contender Series fight was a HELL of a performance. Ive been really impressed with him in all aspects, including his wellroundedness, intangibles and control, but I also really think, as a kickboxer, his grappling is being really underestimated and overlooked. He is definitely a little old to be making the jump to MMA and to be starting out in the UFC, but he is clearly putting the work in and he's really impressed me so far. Also, he fought Alex "Touch Of Death" Pereira 3 times in kickboxing and took him the distance all three times, winning one. That is no easy feat.

    • @138MMA
      @138MMA  Месяц назад

      Sure but kickboxing and MMA are much different.
      I’m not underestimating him at all, we simply haven’t seen enough to know. It’s like I said, I’m passing due to unknowns, but for these videos I have to make a pick so I’ll take the guy with 3x the experience and still just entering his prime. Almeida could totally win though. Just haven’t seen enough to take him here.

    • @JD-bx7ob
      @JD-bx7ob Месяц назад

      @@138MMA of course man, very different, thats why I was talking mostly about his career SINCE transitioning, but I do feel like his high level kickboxing background, and specifically the Pereira trilogy, are worth a passing mention. To be clear though, he has impressed me with his overall performances, wellroundedness, ability to mix martial arts, control and grappling since transitioning to mma, I wasnt basing what I said on his kickboxing career lol.

      @138MMA  Месяц назад

      @JD-bx7ob I agree he has been impressive so far, we just have not see. It against anyone that lets me know we can count on that. He’s looked good but his best opponent so far is Budka and he’s very one dimensional.

    • @JD-bx7ob
      @JD-bx7ob Месяц назад

      @@138MMA I think Fernando was better than Budka tbh (although Budka is admittedly a pretty tough stylistic matchup for Almeida), and Almeida looked phenomenal in that fight. Plus, I feel like 5-0 with a pretty high level DWCS fight and a UFC fight, that both went the distance (not to mention the long kickboxing career), tells us more than like 12-1 or whatever against all nobodies🤷‍♂️ just my opinion though

    Ay bro, what do you think about this Raposo line movement? Super weird, it seems like everybody and their momma was already on Raposo as a dog and then Lima missed weight badly, so youd think those odds would really start to move towards Raposo, but for some reason Lima has still been steadily growing as a favorite🤔 pretty weird, making me a little nervous tbh, wonder if theres something we don't know

    Good picks im with you on most picks im just slightly concerned because edwards beat the brakes of perez in a street fight, and morono already got ko by price so i cant bet him, zeleski got rocked by rinat the wrestler so im scared a striker will put him out i mean li knocked him out

    • @138MMA
      @138MMA  Месяц назад

      To my knowledge there wasn’t video evidence of that street fight. She did have a black eye but the thing about a street fight is we don’t know how it started. If Edwards threw the first punch before Perez knew they were even fighting, she easily could have gotten cracked. That won’t be an issue in a sanctioned bout.
      As for price, yeah don’t be betting morono in this one. I think Price is declining tho so I believe morono is the side, but like you said, morono did get KOd by price already.
      Lastly, Rinat was a huge hyped up prospect before the Zaleski fight. Getting rocked by him but coming back to absolutely whoop him in the 3rd gives me more confidence in Zaleski, not less. I know you mentioned getting rocked by the wrestler, but wrestling threat opens up hands. That happens far more often than people think. When you’re worried about being taken down, you are more open to strikes because you can’t defend everything at once.
      Remember, picks and bets are not the same thing. I make a pick on every fight for entertainment purposes. I don’t bet every fight.

    • @daniellebrooks7510
      @daniellebrooks7510 Месяц назад

      @@138MMA mma is funny you lose 2 in a row by knockout and everyone says your declining remember black beat got ko by tuivasa then sergey everyone said he was done I don't care how many losses you had I look at the matchup and see if you have a path to win and looking at price full record one thing stood out to me ALL 7 of his losses are to strikers so I like this matchup for him but we shall see I just know I'm not betting morono at -200 after that ugly court mcgee performance

    • @138MMA
      @138MMA  Месяц назад

      @daniellebrooks7510 100% can’t bet morono. That is a very bad idea.
      And as for the knockout, it’s not that he got knocked out. The issue is it was to a retiring Lawler who had looked like a shell for quite a few fights and Price just didn’t look good at all.

    • @daniellebrooks7510
      @daniellebrooks7510 Месяц назад

      @@138MMA let me ask you when you research what does that involve??? I do 13 hours of research that involves tape study stats and a look at each fighters entire mma record and one thing I notice when looking at price record ALL 7 of his losses were to strikers so that's why my lean is price in this fight since this would be the first time in his career he would lose to a grappler and FYI morono looked damn bad in his last fight against 40 year old court mcgee I actually think mcgee won so no way should he be -200 favorite

    • @138MMA
      @138MMA  Месяц назад

      @daniellebrooks7510 13 hours each fight??? No way.
      How long for me depends on the fighter. Doesn’t take all that long to watch all 5 or Cesar Almeida’s fights for example.
      I don’t watch every fight a fighter has had and anyone who says they do is lying. Sure I will if they only have a few fights but it doesn’t do much good to watch fights from 10 years ago.
      I spend the amount of time needed based on the fighters in the matchup and what fights are relevant be that by timeframe or stylistic matchup.
      Morono may be a grappler but he has good striking and lands clean shots on the feet. He’s not a pure grappler at all and he was even landing clean on Court, but Court is still relatively durable. Price has been KOd in most of his losses. Morono has looked better recently than Price in my opinion. It’s a pass fight for me but if Price wins you can say you knew and ol 138 didn’t have a clue.
