Yes! So clever and fun to watch. Have never seen nor heard anyone who could even match him. I loved how the whole family would come together to watch him on TV and even Dad would be laughing and smiling, and Dad was usually a very serious, stern person with us. Lots of fun for all.
Red Skelton laughter helped me through many hard times in my early years as a child. As I grew older I've kept that same sense of humor in all good and bad situations in life. I thank God for you Red, Rest in peace.
My favorite comedian of all time...and NO profanity. His demeanor was infectious and we were lifted every time we saw or heard him. I only realized his true genius years near the end of his career. I guess I took him for granted until I realized we would be losing him...way too soon. We could sure use his like today!
The only time I know of that he said a so called curse word was during a performance for the queen of england and a large audience--- at one point he said did your ever wonder about two guys in hell that if they got mad at one another, how could one tell where the other one where to go..😀😀😀
This man was a most extraordinary person. You know how you find out later on that someone was not as they appeared..so far nothing negative has surfaced for this man. I truly think he was the person he presented to his public. Rest in peace Mr Skelton.
Red and my Daddy, Bill Bradway were aquainted from the early days (the 30's) at the Convention Hall in Atlantic City (where the Miss America Pageant is held, of which my dad payed for in 1939). My dad was also playing at the Steel Pier. Red happened to come into the Convention Hall when Daddy was practicing on his custom built Hawaiian Steel guitar. My dad happened to drop one of his metal picks off his finger. It fell on the cement stage floor. Since the hall was empty, it made a rather loud noise. Red was in there listening to Daddy's music and shimmied down one of the poles in the hall, leaped over some empty seats and picked up his pick. Daddy said Red just sat down on the stage and told my dad how much he loved hearing his music. Daddy told me what a humble, caring and interesting character he was as they were both in Atlantic City. This is just one of his stories about Red. I always loved his Tuesday night show on TV....miss good comedy like this!!!
I use to love watching the Red Skelton Show growing up. On my ten year wedding anniversary we went to Hawaii, we saw Red Skelton, live, on stage in Honolulu, Hawaii. My favorite comedian!!! I laughed so hard, I think my face hurt for a few days. God bless you for brightening up our days and bringing laughter ti our lives... As you use to say, " Good night and God bless." We love and miss you. RIP❤️
Someone asked me if I could choose a celebrity, dead or alive, that I could spend the day with, who would it be. My choice would be Red Skelton (hands down!!" He is such a sweet, funny, and caring man. Thanks for the post.
In 1961 when red skelton first show appeared i was 14 yrs old and remember his shows and would watch with my mother, what a laugh fest we would have, all through jr. high and high school until i left home in 1967. I was a pipe smoker for a while when in high school, but i learned not to puff on it while watching red skelton given to fits of coughing and hacking while trying to laugh and smoke at the same time just didn"t work. But isn'"t it more fun to laugh than to smoke? You bet it is. Red skelton you will be missed.
He was our national treasure.would love to see one of his books that he wrote in every day .Ons interview he said how many he filled on his shelf.love letter to wife jokes n story ideas n music he composed
Why is it red Sheldon seem to be such a nice good and Godly man why would he be part of the free Manson which we know or satanic In their beliefs and do be live in many God's and or the new world order not good but I still love Red no matter what his beliefs or ❤
How stupid of the 'interviewer' to not have established BEFORE the interview that Red didn't actually play the piano - rather than during the interview. How embarrassing for him, and it was quite possibly a disappointment for the audience in that moment. 🎹 🎼 🎵
Im 51 and he is very talented for everything I had watched

The only other person that comes to my mind at this moment is Fred Rogers.
