People did forget about him but he didn't like being in the spotlight and developed depression so he stepped out of the limelight. Im pretty sure he stills writes songs for mainstream artists though

Especially with I Took a Pill in Ibiza... if you listen to the ORIGINAL version it really showcases him as a songwriter but I think everyone just though tit was another club bop at the time and didn't fully appreciate it.
