Thanks for this! I grew up in Tupelo and met Paul when I was in 5th grade…. This would have been 1998’ish. He and my science teacher were friends and she brought him as a special guest on a couple of occasions. I still have a piece of notebook paper he signed. The Vanelli’s location referenced is no longer standing, but there is a smaller scale version/bistro in the downtown area these days.
Welcome back to the mint green room. I voted early today in the proverbial bellwether commonwealth of PA. I wrote you in again for State Treasurer. Thanks for #1764!
Paul Thorn is certainly worth a second listen. In Australia we will work with whoever wins the election but as a Free Trading Nation we would prefer not to negotiate with Trump over tariffs, however I believe common sense will prevail and Kamala Harris will make a great First Female President!
Great tunes; great guy! I've seen Paul Thorn live several times over the last 10-15 years. Always a great show. He's also very interactive with fans afterwards. Stays around until the last fan gets a pic with him or an item of merch is signed. Thanks for sharing & if readers like this, check out his other albums...fun stuff! 😎
I dig Paul Thorn. I saw him perform in downtown Sacramento at the Crest Theater, a gorgeous restored Art Deco piece of architecture. (I hope you get to tour it for us one day.) Paul was in the lobby while I purchased a couple of his CDs. One was his new CD at the time which was Hammer and Nail, he came over and signed it for me - a very nice guy.
Thanks. I mostly like your backstage videos. But, I loved the Molly and Golden Highway live show. I usually do not like from the crowd shot live music. Having seen Molly live, I say you did an excellent job. I need to back up and watch the Paul Thorn now. Enjoy your garden and pups while you can, before heading back on the road again.
It must feel good to be home! Please, when you can, update us with the pups, I would love to see how big Romeo has gotten. Thanks for all the road videos again this summer, I loved seeing all the different venues and beautiful theaters.
After Sunday's episode I thought, I'll have to check this guy out. You just took care of that. Now, I need to buy an album. I reckon you won't do that for me, too. Voted today, voted blue. I enjoy the ritual of election day voting and my polling place is less than 2 blocks away. Love and Thanks ❤👍❤👍
@@hans-christiantraute1914 Hi HC, I think everything will be alright. The girls will take care of it, and we can have our beauty sleep! 😴 Wish you a good one. 😊
Funny that Paul Zorn came up to you to remind you about playing with him but then again you have such a big list of recordings.Love these tracks..i agree with you opinion very concise songwriting !!! Stay safe 🙏 Leland Sklar ✌️ 🙏 ✌️ 🙏 ☮️ be safe 🙏!!!!
Hey Leland, he really dug you! Interview with Paul Thorne, ten years ago almost to the day: Question: Who would you like in your rock ‘n’ roll heaven band? Paul Thorne: The band I have, they’re as good as anyone in the world. Aside from them, Malcolm Young from AC/DC on rhythm guitar, and on lead guitar, probably Jeff Beck. Leland Sklar on bass. John Bonham on drums, and on keyboard, probably Liberace-he was very versatile; he could do anything. Backup singers: the McCrary Sisters; they’re already on my album, but you can’t beat them. - Elmore Magazine

He reminds me of Chris Knight an excellent song writer-singer and signed to John Prine’s Oh Boy Records. John Prine’s last recording was on Chris Knight’s last album. Paul Thorn is worth a good listen; I have many of his recordings.
If you ever have a chance to see Paul live, take it! It’s a religious experience of its own kind, depicted in the link below…. Rock on, Brother Thorn! ruclips.net/video/r7g14QbXu28/видео.htmlsi=chJhsxFuda4aE7Sv

Sort of hiding from the world today but when I saw your post I had to check it out. Sure am glad I did, I really dig this!
Voted and thank you for broadening my musical horizons. Amazing.
After I watched that clip from the other day, I dragged back and watched it AGAIN! I really enjoyed that band!
I cast my vote seven days ago. The ballot I filled out was definitely a reflection on my conscience, my heart, my soul and my hopes.
Lee’s feelin it! ❤
Roberto Duran was the hammer on April 14th, 1988 and Paul Thorn was the nail at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey
Thanks for you visit and musical update! Sad about Quincy Jones. Such a HUGE loss! Hope all is well good sir!!
Evening Lee and all

Lee your trouble is basically WHO DIDN'T YOU PLAY WITH ?
Lee, I really enjoyed The Mavericks set you recorded. Great energy! I wanted to play along.

We’re ready to stop the drama la with a cool new step mamma la! Let’s go! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I did this! Sounds like a mix of Mark Collie and The Goo Goo Dolls a little bit.
I was typing. Think I will listen to Tony Joe White. Then this happens.🤣🎸
Heard Paul say the actual statue is in the dad’s yard….

Hey are you coming to London with Lyle in January?
Still sorting out the budget to see if he can bring any players.
Since when does Gandalf live in Pasadena and play the bass
For many years now. Cool isn't it?
Frankenstein?
Yes
🤔🤔 "Hammer and Nail" on election day 2024. Hmmm....
Really enjoyed the tune! Not so much the hammer and nail experience....
Great story
