A man with this much talent, the most recognize bearded man in the world, played with so many talented musicians & singers thru his career that is truly an unbelievable legend in this industry, sits here & talk to us as a friend & just an ordinary man having a normal conversation... if you didn't know who this man is, you would never guessed it by talking with him....Gotta Love Him & his music, Thank You Leland, your the best....
Leland Sklar's amazing humility and his beautiful memories continue to make him everyone's favorite uncle. Oh, and he's a truly GREAT musician. He has kept many of us sane during this awful time.
I love when Lee talks about being onstage and having a bit of a transcendental moment. I.have felt, at times, almost as though I was floating above the band and watching it all, playing bass and yet somehow dissociated. Especially when the band was on fire. ✌️🙏🎸
Lee, your live performance with Phil Collins on "Inside Out" is up there at the TOP of Mount Olympus! For me..... THAT's the ONE! If there ever was a WE... Are NOT Worthy performance for those concert goers!
Very good interview! You know exactly when to just let the artist (Lee in this case) take the story where he wants. I find that very inspiring to watch/listen to (and I’ve interviewed artists for over 20 years).
Lee Sklar played on some of my favourite songs in the 70s. Although music has moved on to computerised sounds you can’t beat a bass player with a great pocket playing for the song and that’s Lee Sklar!
Lots of us follow Leland’s YT Channel to which he posts he reminiscences of his incredible recording and performance career interposed with thoughts of his day ahead and his beautifully designed and well kept back yard with his beloved semi-Italian basset hounds. But having watched hundreds of his YT vids, this may be his best ever, I think, and wonder why.
Niclas Jeppsson Just how is he a Legend, what’s his claim to fame other than just another session musician? I watched the interview and he dropped lots of names of real legends but how does in fit into that club?

I,and we ,as your audience are the lucky ones Mr Sklar !We get to experience the gift of music that you provide . We also get to experience through modern technology , just how much of a decent person you are ,such a modest person ,such a generous and honest person your are with your time and consideration for others !
🙌 I just found this. A chance to hear Leland tell his own stories. He has played with so many of our top rock musicians it's amazing. This is great! Thanks for the interview Mr Sklar, Ive so enjoyed it. Sue
Very humble man, Leland Sklar, and one GD great bassist. I first noticed him with James Taylor, a live show in Boston, maybe 1988(?). Lee was dressed to the nines in a B&W outfit with spats on his feet. At some point in the show, JT points to Lee and says to the crowd, "Does he look great or what?!". And it was true, Lee was GQ City on that night.
Hi Leland! What a great interview! One of the things I like so much about you, is the fact that as a professional touring musician ( with the ultra famous ), you find the time to come to my favorite musical experience, often, Top Tune. Love you for it.
Aloha Nick, I hope you don’t mind me subbing your channel today? I’ve been a big fan of Leland’s even though I’ve met him many times in person. He always has some great stories to listen to, it’s like, dang, I wish I was there myself also. Leland and Maureen are perfect examples how they are just regular people with ordinary lives, doing normal things like washing the car, taking their dogs out for walks and yes, bagging poo like anyone else that owns great pets, which are just as important as any other family member, you just do all that you can for them. I hope that I can convince you to continue making these YT videos and if you ever get the pleasure to travel to the Honolulu area, I would love to give you a grand tour of this island and not just the touristy stuff either. Mahalo❤
Great interview. I follow Lees channel and in addition to all the wonderful but more obvious things you can attribute to him, is what a thoroughly nice man he really is
Excellent interview! Lee is such a great guy. And for him to give an interview to a channel with 407 subscribers (408 now!) just shows the man loves to reach fans and talk about music. And Niclas - you will be gaining subscribers soon, I bet. BTW - Rudy Sarzo is another super cool veteran who might be willing to chat with you a bit. So many great stories there, as well!
We can't get enough Leland! We love his playing! We hope you all got a chance to check out our interview with Denny Tedesco! He tells some really amazing stories about his Dad and someother bits from Immediate Family and The Wrecking Crew!
I love going on to his channel... I always learn something new about music or listen to a new song from one of my favorite Artist that he has played with. Highly recommend his channel.
His credits read like an alphabet of major artists from Luis Miguel, James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Alice Cooper Rod STewart, Celine Dion, Phil Collins, BB King, to name a few
@@ScottAnd Especially strange since the channel is private so there shouldn’t be any subscribers. I can’t even figure out who it is to block them. This interviewer is still really sad.
Leland Sklar has contributed immensely to the musical world. Such a talented and remarkable man.
What a talent and a joy to watch, right? Glad I'm not alone. I'm a drummer!
This man is a legend and deserves ALL our love. Also thank you for asking good questions and then sitting back and listening rather than interrupting.

I think he has been on more than 2000 songs. Yet, he maintains a sense of awe at his own life. How wonderful. It speaks volumes of him.
Love this man for sharing his history with music with the world 🙏🏽 It's rare

Leland Sklar THE BEST. Thanks.
Great interview. Great questions with lots of space to let Lee tell his story.
I just love Leland. He comes off as such a common down-to-earth guy. And, he's so great. Really a cool guy.
Great interview and video. Lee is such a great storyteller and a really sweathart to those who dont piss him of.
Cheers from Denmark 🇩🇰
Haha, yes he is :) Glad you enjoyed it!

So incredibly humble and a wonderful human being that Lee… 😎
Wonderful interview! Thanks!

I’ve seen so many interviews with Lee, but this is the best one to me! Nice job!
Thank you so much Jim and I'm glad you liked it :)
Legendary greatness and humble as can be. Genuinely and great person

Thanks for this interview. Lee needs volume two of his book.

This such a genuine guy… and humble. Thanks so much for the body of work and taking the time to share.
Congrats to the interviewer who let Mr Sklar talk and not interrupt him.
Thank you :)
Leland Sklar is one of those legends whose name should be better known.
Good interview 🙃
Awesome interview!
The thumbnail got me. 😂 "Leland Sklar's sickest, most BRUTAL Death Metal bass lines!"
I'll never forget that concert you played at the North Pole.
Leland is officially the coolest guy in rock, pop and jazz music.
What a legend . Nice as well.
I love going on to his channel... I always learn something new about music or listen to a new song from one of my favorite Artist that he has played with. Highly recommend his channel.

Glad you enjoyed it Roger :)
Well now that I heard his resume I’m impressed!
It's Lee "groovethon" Sklar! He's played on so much music, I knew him long before I knew him!
He's just that good.
5:48 - dude takes a casual slug of his drink while Lee lays it down. Lol
They'd know you cause you're a damn good musician that they respect as we do as well.
My Hero in the music world. If age catches up please remember each of us is still a kid that loves music. I want music in my coffin
Good interview but I find the title and thumbnail image to be misleading.
Good for you
My hero. Full stop.
Pure class.
Excellent opening pic of Lee
I klnow exactly what Sklar is saying at 2:05. It is the best part of learning to play.
His credits read like an alphabet of major artists from Luis Miguel, James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Alice Cooper Rod STewart, Celine Dion, Phil Collins, BB King, to name a few
Informative, thoughtful
Great bass player 🥰
Lee Sklar is a legend
Lee looks like he should be playing bass guitar for Meshuggah in that video thumbnail.
👍😎❤🖖
Love folks
Are there worst moments outlined here?
Niclas, ever thought of taking a shower. Just making yourself more presentable. Especially interviewing the legendary Leland Sklar!
@leslielembke5759 Was that necessary? Niclas didn't seem to take offense: maybe you and interviewer are old fiends, just joking around...?
When I grow up I want to be like Leland :)
Hes the dude at the top of the mountain on that led zeppelin album
The Wizard of Cool!
That what happens to you when you are real Leland
♥-🥁😎🥁..
❤️🙏🎶
bad ass bass players there is a tie between michal anthiny on leland sklar
He played for Garou. If that's not rock bottom I don't know what is.
🧡
I’m in Lee’s book 🖕🏼
Lee hold still
Hey kid , you look like a young version of Lee ....
Wie wäre es mit am schlimmsten Momente?
lee's cool
Oh yea!
Dude grow the stash or shave it
You guys talk like it was a job or a way of making a living when it was just all for fun right?
This the same person with the "everything to know (pick a bass)" person? Nah, no accent...
Put a white beard on the face on the left. Add a few years.
Haha, I wish I had Lee’s beard
Who is this weird little guy with 533 subscribers interviewing poorly in an odd little way? So strange. Lee Sklar is the boss!
Haha, I was gonna ask you to become my 534th subscriber but that’s taken. But you can be my 535th instead :)
Thats funny, coming from someone with only 1 subscriber

few too many skips here, sometimes its hard to make out what Lee was saying, like at 5:23.
