NL having an insane opinion, Josh instantly disagreeing and/or not understanding, and Nick asking random questions over the argument. This is peak NLSS
Josh saying "what" is his entire character on the NLSS
Were there cheeses?
@@Wertsir Nicks ramblings in the backgrounds of arguments are like, the absolute greatest lol
Shadowsong Josh with the snap call

"if you're over 20 you should know what the meats at the deli taste like"
well lah-dee-dah, look at uncle moneybags who wasn't chewing on surimi for proteins during his college years
In all of this 5-year long shitstorm THIS is the point where i could no longer support NL's side. I have no idea what half of the meat they talk about is because of the 4-5 times i used the deli myself i only bought the same one or two things my family always bought for years and i myself am nowhere near the level of opulence to try out every variation of hams and turkeys available at the bougie grocery store.
@Jason Dodge I bought deli meat once at the counter and ended up throwing out about 8 inches of salami. Never again.
It is quite clear that he is taking drama up a notch for entertainment purposes. He always does it.
@@GoodGoga tbh it doesnt take opulence to try all the meats, it just takes some balls that i dont have. I know i like roast beef, smoked chicken, and salami, why buy any other meat? I could venture to try a small sampling of another meat on my trip for a pittance, but its easier to just get the sandwich i know i love.
@@PapaBadDadcumsuckgod yeah and within NL's rules it makes even less sense. If you are restricted about when you can order different meat you are even less likely to want to go outside your comfort zone
NL approaching the deli counter: "Dormammu, I've come to bargain."
deli worker, i need your thickest lunchmeat
You can't HANDLE my thickest lunchmeat
Mr MnM only gets one shot to argue his price as well. NL told him not to miss his opportunity to follow the MnM price index, which of course exists on an 8 mile scale with units of Stans, Slim Shadys and Rap Gods.
"why did they subscribe to you during that time?"
"dude i'm telling you, viewer count is going up the more i talk about the deli!"
this was an omen
I love how through the clips, NL starts reasonable then logical extremes himself into going full boomer
There is no responsible start here. "Wah! My jimmies were slightly rustled because someone out there likes variety in their sammy meats. Fuckin one meat only!" Is just a logical extreme that he managed to take even farther.
dude started out unreasonable. he doesn't want to wait an extra 30 seconds so someone can get two meats
It started when Josh left the first time. Nick never held Ryan responsible for his hot takes. Without anyone to censor him the Egg began to swell with pride and here we are in 2020. Where ordering three sandwich meats makes you a person lacking moral fiber and Jwalking is a capital offense worthy of death.
@@dogexe Kinkshamming
The two meats max argument is still so crazy, after all these years.
At least as a german. Almost nobody orders under three meats here.
Do we really?
@@penguindrummer252 Yes we do. If people order less than 3 meats where you're from then I don't want to know what joyless, dreary, poverty-stricken part of Germany that is. My wife and I live alone, we order as many meats as we want and if we feel like it we eat a different kind each day, not the ONE kind that Ryan's "ministry of deli meat distribution" has ordered us to buy that week.
Usually I agree with Ryan on most topics but I'm still so mad about this insane argument.
@@truelazerlight so u are saying that u are pretty comfortable buying 8x 100 grams of different lunch meat waiting untill the very last moment to order another one, when there are 8 people in the queue? that sounds like a sociopath behaviour
@@Ryan38475 You wait for the guy or girl behind the counter to cut it up and saying "what else?" here. And yeah, 100 grams is the usual amount for cut up lunch meat and or cheese.
@@Ryan38475 I mean it sounds pretty normal, if its my turn to order ( not cutting in the queue or some shit). I dont expect the worker the remember all my orders if I'm buying more than one meat.
What boggles my mind is that this entire premise hangs on the fact that there's only one clerk at the deli counter.
Watching you two message about this stuff on Discord was certainly an experience. We should all do a collab for real someday :)
The NLSS community is so sick nasty
/Sadcringe
Jk, it would be heartwarming to see a 3 way between you guys 👅
Yo, dont forget Jerm!
The secret discord only for people who trim norternlion content.
This should get a full theatrical release in every cinema in the world.
I put this video on at the dentist to distract me while I was getting fillings and started laughing and the hygienist wondered what I was listening to. I told her at the beginning of my appointment that I was listening to gamers argue about how many meats to order at the deli counter. At the end she asked for an update on what the consensus was and I told her the argument wasn’t over yet. It was an hour and a half in. I love the NLSS
I've worked in a deli for over 2 years now and let me tell you that as long as they're not making me open new packages or chipping their meat, they're completely fine. Also asking to sample every meat you get even though you got the same thing last week immediately gets you sent to the deepest layer of hell.
Sometimes I watch GODegor to help me sleep. This is just making me angry while I’m trying to sleep
god dammit i work at a meat counter and im gonna be thinking about this whole bit for the next month
**update: i got fired
I worked at a meat counter for about a year and these arguments influenced my whole perspective, for better or for worse. I definitely lean towards NL here.
I stand in solidarity with you, brothers.
Meat man has done nothing wrong.
Edit: I've went to the deli today and found myself behind one of the meat man, he got 8 different products and I gotta say it didn't bother me at all. Justice for meat people.
Man he has done absolutely nothing wrong. But I don't believe its is wrong to get bothered since nobody likes waiting. Still people shouldnt be self conscious about how many meat they buy
i mostly agree, but if you have a queue behind you, at least try to place your order in a efficient manner.
@@ninakuup21 If you're buying 8 meats and theres one person behind you, let them go ahead and get theirs before you, just as a nice man once let me cut on front of him at 5am as all I had was 1 banana to his full grocery pile. If theres a big line though, not much you can do if you really need all that meat. That being said, I could never order just a few slices of 8 meats, I would have to be buying for a camping trip or something and getting at least a half pound of each to feel justified.
@@PapaBadDadcumsuckgod man I absolutely agree on letting people cut in if the line isnt long, what I'm trying to say is that I am not going to give up on the meal I am planning just because some random stranger will wait 3-5 minutes longer at the supermarket.
@@ninakuup21 i mean noone is asking you to stop. The point NL was trying to make after it was made obvious to him that meatman can buy what he wants is that there is nothig wrong with people behind meatman getting mad at him for taking so long
MY MAN YOU HAVE TRULY ASCENDED BEYOND THIS MORTAL PLANE. LETS ACTUALLY GO
2 hours of what god intended nlss to be. You, sir, deserve a medal!
I just realised that the deli counter quiplash counter is an actual deli counter
2 and a half hour Egor video?
Karen, clear my schedule for the next 3 hours. The extra half hour is to savor it.
I wasn’t upset until NL said that like 90% of bagel sandwiches are haraam.
Wow I’ve been watching NL for years and I’d never imagine he was this uptight about the deli. This actually blows me away. Thanks for the quality upload Egor 👍🏻
What isn't he pressed about at one point in his boss career?
There were 8 people in my household at one point. When groceries were got, it was 4 or 5 different meats. No matter the line.
so hows prison treating you?
Savages!!!
You should have got 16 separate meats. Two for each of ya.
NL is the final boss of the deli counter.
As someone who works in a deli, I am extremely interested in this.
Which deli? :)
@@TheFiReLoRd777 Publix.
@@SharkNinjaBlueStar oh I haven't heard of that one before I will have to look them up. I worked a few months at a Harris teeter deli.
Same actually, hearing NL think getting more than 1 meat at the counter is actual insanity.
Been here damn near five years, brother...its...been a rough ride.
Ok I 100% have bought an $11 bulk bag of m&ms (the only item I was buying) IN VANCOUVER.... And I also got confused and angry about it. The only difference is I am a 21 year old female and am partly glad this isn't about me.....except it pretty much is🥴
As a former deli employee (harries teeter) it is normally do people to get 2 things however we did get people who wanted more than that which was fine as long as they knew what they wanted as NL said "in advance" you can also get free samples at the deli of not only the meat you are getting but of anything else in the deli meat or cheese realm.
Cheese realm is sending me
at 2 am I find this video; at 4 am I have experienced a full-length movie plus and I do not regret it. I was dying of laughter at some points through this and I used it as a personal anecdote to talk about. Brang it up with my dad and talked about it for 10 minutes and, him seeing how obsessed and interested that I was in this dilemma, we decided to go get a bunch of deli meat/cheese - prepackaged of course.
Also this is an excellent compilation and I value it a ton, you did great; thank you so much
I've wondered this for a while Egor, but what determines when you will use Nick's footage of an NLSS over NL's? Not complaining at all, but just genuinely curious what makes you choose one over another
i think there's some NLSS Vods that are simply lost to time, at least as far as NL's perspective. Thankfully Nick kept about as good a repository as twoandahalfscums does, or else these monumental discussions would have been truly lost.
At least, I assume that's the reason. Maybe its just to see our lil Nek again ^-^
@@cranktherider4302 correct. NL missed a lot of uploads and the only surviving perspective is Nick. 2.5Scums started bootlegging a bit later.
I love how his stance grew harder and harder as it went on.
Take a shot every time NL mentions macaroni loaf
Was listening to music
Opened RUclips to see what’s uploaded
Closes everything to listen to this. Thank you goodboy
WHY DOES NO ONE GET ITS NOT ABOUT JUDGING YOUR MEAT PREFERENCE BUT THE FACT THAT YOURE BEING INCONSIDERATE TAKING UP SO MUCH TIME AT THE COUNTER
i miss Nick, love that guy
NL had me at "don't take like 10 minutes trying 15 different luncheon meats then asking for quarter inch cuts", but lost me when judging what they are getting.
Just don't take 10 mins at the deli counter when 10 people are waiting behind you
The best thing about this is my shock at Mathas being on the NLSS
You shouldn't be shopping in the weekend to begin with. Once you've made the decision to do so anyway (as we all have and will keep on doing) having to wait for too long in a line is basically your own fault. I like this everlastig meat discussion better though.
exactly. All I could think was, what are you doing grocery shopping at 5 PM on a sunday? Even just come back at a different time and you could maaaybe have a case. If you're lined up at the counter at 10 PM and some joker is inconveniencing you, yeah, be mad.
Exactly! If you show up to get meat at rush hour on a Saturday as far as I'm concerned you deserve what you fucking get!
I'll go shopping whenever the goddamn I want
@@Liliputian07 Enjoy your 10 different slices of meat, sir ;)

Oh my god the fishing streams! I remember those! It started off as a meme but they ended up doing it for the whole 3 hours and had like 7 people in the call all fishing. What a trip.
Nek and Matt has games in the first segment, oh lawdy
Even now I can't get over that thumbnail. It's literally perfect.
(NL threatening his audience) "I'm gonna spend all your twitch prime money on Nickelback MP3s. How'd you feel about that?"
"Austin has a chance to be the best amongst us." foreshadowing?
thank you josh for being sane
I love how the closer you get to modern day the more reasonable and civil the discourse becomes.
This was the greatest work day in a while. This is the best NL content possibly ever
When was the last time Nick was on an NLSS god it feels like forever
I just looked on his channel it's been a whole year!
Bro, four meats is just psychotic.
1:56:00 ~ "if kate and i ever choose to have children" 😳
He needs to react to this now that he's a parent.
At least you guys can afford to go to the deli counter to buy your sandwich meats 😂🤷🏽♂️
This must be a city only problem, as no matter when i go to the grocery store or what time of day it is the deli counter has to be the least busy part of the store. The idea of policing how much meat someone can buy due solely on your own impatience is absolutely fucking insane too, i mean if waiting a couple minutes is unbearable how does he handle the checkout line?
Variety is not the spice of Egg man's life.
As someone who has worked in a deli I never had a problem with someone ordering a ton of meats unless it was super busy.
Also people who order bologna are fuckin weird. Oscar Meyer is the only bologna I will eat. Not because it's better or cheaper, but because I don't have to stand there in shame while I wait for another human to cut the bologna they know I'm about to eat.
Hello, Deli counter? I'm trying to determine my meat preferences in a scientific manner. Give me two slices of *every kind of meat you have AT EVERY THICKNESS SETTING OF YOUR SLICER*
Underrated comment
"Pre-planned meats"
Time to buckle up, this is gonna be a long one...
52:27 this man has an algiz rune and still dies because he forgets to pop it :(
Also wasn’t using his box of friends like ever.
really paying attention the important parts of the video, I see.
No matter what you say about Nick, he's not the best when it comes to Isaac
Anyone who justifies all these meats has clearly never worked at the deli
Man buys more than 2 things at a store, branded monster, more at egg.
Oh god, the whole "fucker ordering eight different things when you've got a big ass line" is the goddamn worst, even from our side.
This entire video is just Ryan’s impression of Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm
2:30 "Oh and also number 4 was deodorant"
Is NL ok?
2 meats is totally fine for an average person, but thats your cutoff for normal weekly eating. Not sure what deli counter has cheese... Ours just has it prepackaged, even the store brand stuff, so any number of cheeses is acceptable
Thank you for the absolutely godly content
Fuck nick really riffed well with NL asking him more in depth questions on his takes. I hate that he’s not on the show to this day. Dude looked happy on the last stream I caught so I’m sure he’s well, but he was a part of some all time classic moments.
If you know you want multiple meats, you probably don't need to sample them. If you see something you'd like to get also, but would like to sample, go ahead. If you find out you don't want it, shut it down better luck next time
Am I the only person on Earth who just gets pre-sliced packaged deli meats?
No I do as well on occasion, but in my experience deli meat is 100% better 100% of the time
no but its strictly worse and often the same price or more expensive
@@PapaBadDadcumsuckgod but the upside is avoiding people like NL in circumstances like this
Can't believe I just listened to this whole thing.
Great video! I really need this in my life
As someone who works at a deli counter, I agree with NL on deli counter etiquette during busy hours
This man is a national treasure with his consumer views
I thought mathas was justin at the beginning. that was a strange sensory experience watching really old nlss and hearing justin's voice
i'd really like some garlic pepper turkey (with real garlic chunks), a long-cut sourdough, a vegan fabanaise, crunchy purple lettuce, melted gouda, wholegrain mustard, and something tomato-like but not tomato. also, maybe some leftover shavings of mock chicken. would NL have words with me?
No, that's 2 deli items you're fine
If package deliveries is the Logan of NLSS bits, this is the X2.
I could be studying for an AP test and instead I'm watching NL use the same bit for two and a half hours
The origin story of deli_man
I somewhat agree with NL that meatman was inconveniencing everyone else and really should have gotten his meat at a different time, however he also has the right to buy as much meat as he wants so i cant blame him for it.
I think if you're trying to get deli meat at 5 on a sunday you deserve any inconvenience that's coming your way
"get a pasta solid" oh man...
thank you based egor
My whole adult life my move has been if there's no line I'm pretty much always ordering 4 meats. If there's a line I'll do two and if its one person behind me I go for 3. I never knew this debate even existed until now lol
Egor, maybe a jaywalking compilation?
Watched the whole thing, thank you for this.
The bit around 1:56:45 really does capture a lot of 2020
IMO it's like with the regular counters; as long as how they order doesn't waste time beyond what is necessary for the volume they're buying.
"What's NEWW at the Deli Counter?" LMAOO
Ryan, the Deli Defender
Doing Gods work for real.
‘Hero of the deli’ is the funniest shit
Ryan is absolutely in the right on this. I am in sympathetic anger at the other two
I didnt know i was missing out on delis. I was under the impression it was high premium meat. I thought it was more expensive better shit. I always bought pre packaged. I have to change my ways
Loved it, many thanks!
Lmao this man is my hero after working at a deli counter
There's nothing wrong with asking for multiple meats. There IS something wrong with not knowing your order when you reach the deli counter and then hemming and hawwing the entire time.
How did have I missed Josh, frequently my least favorite NLSS member, calling out Ryan on his "everyone should live like me" bullshit?
So ill prolly sound like austin squared for saying this but ive never had a deli experiance because i dont like bread at all unless its super toasted (like a grilled cheese with almost black crust) and when you dislike bread it kinda makes the whole internal lunch meat ecosystem collapse. Ive always been more of a steakhouse sort of guy not fancy lunch meats but id be damned if hearing them say all those various lunch meat names didnt make me want to go to a deli and order 100 grams of like fuckin 10 different meats just to try them they sound so good.
RIP NLSS, I miss you.

Ryab and J Smith Original Toast Injection: (Screaming about meat)
necc: (Confused cat who only wants to eat his salad meme)
This is so great.
nah NL is right, if thers a long fucking line, dont be getting to much or take up so much time. Its an unwritten rule for just being polite, but tbh for individualistic countries you'll get people like that other dude thinking oMg yOu WAnt tO tAkE coNtroL oF mY lIfe? No, just be considerate.
Honestly limiting yourself to one meat is extreme but I'd say as a deli worker myself if your asking for over three items with a substantial line behind you....there better be a pregnancy involved or your straight up doucher.
I have watched further and by 49.00 the egg has gone mad with power, support rescinded
Man, I'd completely forgot about NL's crackle mic.
From the same province as NL, just want to weigh in and say he's fucking insane
Most grocery store delis in BC are manned by more than 1 person, usually 3, so it really shouldn't be that big of a problem if somebody in front of you orders more than 1 kind of meat
If the deli in your Save On Foods is manned by 1 person then just go somewhere else
I love how NL doesn't even buy 500g of meat.
