You guys only get blamed because of the big impact you guys can actually have and if some of those major things don’t happen from you guys, there are situations where you could be blamed. I would say, remember to save your contagion for the burn (when the boss is enraged, lancer has popped buffs, etc). Too often I see mystics just pop contagion off cd or whenever but it's an extra 5% defense drop, so it's really good to save for when everyone pops their buffs/brooches. Also! The duration glyph on VOC is actually useless. It doesn't increase the duration of the endurance debuff itself, but just the little damage over time (which is practically nothing at 65). Just letting you know, took me a bit to realize that too ^^

Few comments and yes, I'm late because I've only recently started to play this game. It's quite fun to be honest, despite the quests and storyline being on the rather pointless side. But either way, my plan is to play all the various roles there are to play and that's cause I love variety. One thing that severely pisses me is if I have to do the same thing over and over ad infinitum.. Anyway, I've already got my warrior up, although not nearly maxed out. Now I'm working on my mystic (I chose not to go with priest as I like challenges) and for my tank (as my warrior will be dps) will probably be a Lancer. I'll see. I will develop into a playstyle for mystic, but this was a good idea of what to expect 👌🏻. So thanks man

I always felt like it was the opposite, like priests do have some insane healing, but Mystic has that extra oomph, so I always prefer mystics over priests any day :p
FYI: Few of us have noticed that it takes Mystics' a while to find a group for Dungeon Missions in the Smulch Server (at least 10 to 20 min) because the search prioritizes Priests and Archers rather than Mystics.

Idk, I just took mystic because I could heal myself , makes it easier to get to level 40 since I really want reaper. I realised that I actually don't do that much damage, my cousin's friend took gunner and he just slaughters enemies , my cousin took fighter, also killed stuff way faster than me. But they did have to be careful since they couldn't just heal themselves or put a thrall down.
A lot of this was just all around good tips for any healing class, though I am curious to find out the differences in statting when it comes to a Priest V Mystic
Miseri Chorde in the version that console has priest heals almost twice as much DIRECTLY. the rest of mystics healing comes from motes that the DPS should be picking up (though most times they don't cause they think they're special cookies)
Pretty good info, only thing I caught that's not 100% necessary is the 3 stacks of VoC. The stacks only add a bit of dps, the endurance debuff is the important part from a glyph and is a seperate debuff from the damage. Other than that I totally agree with your info. 👍
Nice guide! Okay so I have a tip with the whole ToP in battle issue. So if the buff runs out summon ToP and then just summon ToL so that he vanishes. That's how I do it.
the complexity is heavily outdated from back when mystic used to be one of the hardest classes in the game. it doesnt require any brainpower anymore, especially not when playing pc version.

On my first dungeon, level 20ish, I noobishly use boomerang as my main heal and never dropped a ball of any kind. To my defense, I soloed the dungeon on my mystic and knew that DPS could blaze through it. But, given the fact that I did not prepare my skills, I had them off-bar and only Titanic popped on a chain to say the least. This is my first day. No training. No guides. Just me and whatever the game dished out. This is why I am here, now. I am about to run the dungeon again, after this post, people will think I am a GM when it is over...trust me on that. FREE BALLS!!!
I always toss orbs right on the tank's feet, and they seem to always ignore them. 90% of my healing is usually my lockon and boomerang, with dozens of orbs on the ground completely ignored ;_;
Just started Tera on my PS4 and i chose the mystic because i liked the sceptre's they wield. I kinda like it as the class allows you to summon a familiar that fights for you. Only question i have is there a way to increase your mana or mana regen? Running out of mana mid fight is not very nice.
Depends on the fights, but generally the reason you will oom is too much use of boomerang pulse. Try not to use that spell much unless you can see you're like going to heal your whole team and hit the boss two times with it. That's really the only time it becomes efficient. If most of your heal is orbs and titanic favor your mana use is like nothing. Also, don't shy away from corruption ring/infusion ring combo -- it uses very little mp to make a whole lot of mp.

Nova thanks again. Currently running 2 succoring and 2 keens...I spent the VG credits on them so once I accumulate 1200 VG again I'll get the extra 2 succoring. I'll switch them out for keens when soloing and doing IOD quests.

My fav class and I do play it solo XD I like the challenge. I heal random strangers without requested lol but depending on others to fight for me is not fun in my book.
I feel like vow of rebirth and resurrect are bugged and don't work because when I use vow I have to pay to get back up and no one get back up whenever I use res.
It does work. But if you or whoever you res is still new to Dungeon or like hasn't entered it for more than 10 times. He still counts as a Rookie and the Self Rez won't be available. Then their only option is Ressurrect from a healer. But even if they are still a Rookie they can click on "Other Options" and res for free using the Ressurrect.
I wanted to start a Mystic just today, so this came out at the perfect time! Thanks. I absolutely love a good healer and always try to be appreciative. However when I, as a tank, have the aggro on me, have my hp at 50% or bellow for several minutes, without getting a single heal, is it ok to blame them then? I mean I get it if the healer was getting attacked, or was low him/herself, but we're talking about minutes without getting a heal, while tanking everything. Also, I honestly prefer working with Mystics because those orbs can be life savers in case the healer forgets to heal me. Although most mystics refuse to unsummon their thall and that thing can sometimes outaggro a tank.
Ok than you play in low lvl... the tank pet never get aggro in lvl 65 inis never! Im a Mystik ( gs 424) and really for every new player dont play healer if you dont want to work hard to handel all, buffs debuff, rez-bait, clear, stunning, Interrupt, and more.
Correct, I was 62 when I wrote the comment and a few levels later I now see that the scale shifted in my favor, I almost never lose aggro now. I have no issue with working hard, helping others sounds like a gratifying thing to do, even if people don't always appreciate it. Can't wait to play Mystic.

Nova I say this because depending on chains is limiting. For me having much more control on what you're doing is fantastic. That's just me though, that's why I'm recommending it. At least try it out to see if it works out or not, doesnt hurt to try yknow? Good content though, hope to see more soon :)
Maybe they have worked for others in the past, but from personal experience when trying to tank and from playing with a buddy who has tanked, we both prefer to never have a ToP during a boss fight, even if someone dies and they need the endurance buff again. From a tanking perspective, it is annoying having to fight for agro. From a dps perspective, it is doubly annoying having to spend most of the life span of the ToP running for position instead of attacking. It gets so annoying at times that I just say screw it and I stop worrying about attacking from behind and just attack where I am. Edit: I forgot to mention that my experience with tanking(on a brawler) are limited to dungeons below GS 410, so I have no clue if it is better or worse for true end game.
i find it handy too have my ToP up, when mobs are starting too attack me and they interupt my heals. Then i set my pet out too get rid of the attackers. Not sure though, but i think my ToP pet won't attack when i heal only, can anyone clarify this? Futher i use ToP for solo purpose, when everyone left after defeating a boss and i have so stuff left to do.
Use it only at the start of the dungeon and when somebody dies . You can unsummon it by using thrall of life. I play on PC, but i am sure thats how it is for console too.
The guide itself... Awesome. But why in the white hot f bomb do you waste so many glyph points on MP Reduction lul And breaking up the Manor set with a single Estate accessory? You aren't even using a 2nd for the set bonus if that's the road you wanted to go.
I get that we should not be dpsing but where's is your "REGRESSION" skill? Where? LKHM will wreck you and the Lancer on VOW will annoy your "party" Other than that I agree with everything else
Having Maine's a mystic Theo the version you have on console (and still do) I can say that I only have a few corrections. Teleport jaunt is not your only IFrame. Curruption ring is one as well in the beginning. Also you NEED to drop motes WAY more often. If you go down, or you can't get to someone fast enough, they're the only other means of healing. Unless you're close enough for warding totem to effect them. I would suggest putting another brilliant crystals in your weapon and running 4 succoring on your accessories. You're burning through too much Mana per skill, which is I assume why you don't drop more notes. You're still going to crit heal more than enough. You could honestly even switch out your swift for a crit srystal if need be instead of sacrificing a brilliant. You should be far enough away that it's not needed anyways.
The first 2m of the video is a general rule for healers lol, in summary kite the field, heal the party, dodge aoes, and only dps when you're sure nobody's going to die in the next few seconds. If people are intentionally dying or just stupid, leave them dead even if they're the tank and perhaps they'll learn to be nice to the healer. Sorry I'll watch the video now lol

Mystic is kind of a tank because of the Thrall of protection and I am a level 36 mystic and I deal more damage than most of my allies at the same level
NO, mystic is anything, but a tank. Do not even think about summoning a thrall of protection with a low lvl tank and if you do, do it once for the buff and never again (Except if somebody dies, then you can use thrall of life to summon it again)
Just to be clear, doing more damage makes you a DPS. A tank can mitigate more damage. A healer can heal through damage. A thrall that heals is convenient.
double crit rolls is one of the shittiest builds you can run, the benefits of using double cooldown rolls or double attack speed rolls are so much better. double attack speed is especially good for a mystic because they tend to get locked into animations often, such as cleanse or lock-on heal, which can lead to death and i definetly think that is a subject you should've touched more on instead of saying ''lol yeah sacrifice a bit of survivability for more crit''. you should also never use bottom roll crit if you dont have a fourth roll because you are sacrificing 4,5% attack speed, which again, for a mystic, is incredibly vital for your survival. i think you should really consider these things before putting something like that in a guide, as it turns into a form of misinformation, especially since you've mentioned the person who has made a mystic guide on essentialmana, that didnt recommend double crit factor rolls at all, and only recommended the bottom crit roll if you can use a 4th roll. now i dont know the meta on console, but when it comes to the pc version, double crit rolls are a big no no and you will never find any proper mystic running with those rolls. the rest of the guide was decent, but the double crit rolls part really bugged me as a support main, and knowing that people probably actually followed that with their mystics bugs me even more, because its the worst possible build you could go for as a mystic.
Great guide :))) but id never use crit build (vyrsks) on a mystic cos of auras. I use at speed and endurance vyrsks and I heal crit more than I need. With lock on heal I heal like 70% hp of my party members. Hence I found crit build useless. the other two more more viable. Also, mystic can heal way more than priest if u exp well enough ^^ WHen it comes to the thall of protection I agree at the end game content cos if tank lose agro to thall at 65 then truly sucks. HOWEVER, using thall of protection at low lvl instances is UTTERLY stupid. that thall does next to no dmg and always make agro switch and at low lvl endurance buff is not unlocked anyway so I see no point of using it. To be fair 90% of mystics I played with use tha tthall without thinking. again im speaking about low lvl instances not the end game content. :)
A lot of this is really wrong, you don't need 3 stacks of volley up 24/7, just 1. Only contagion during enrage. Crit/attack speed builds are pointless, energetic etchings + CD rolls are way more important than anything, more CD reduction = more contagion, heals, resses, everything that supports your party. A lot of this information is just wrong and you shouldn't be feeding new players with it.
Nova even pre spellbound patch the build you’re giving is pointless. Stacking crit on healers is pointless because crits are already high and you’re better off rolling cd reduction and getting energetic etchings. Especially on a healer like a mystic where you already get additional crit from your auras, it makes it even more of a uselsss stat to stack. The reason I say only save contagion for enrage is because dps should roll and save their high dps skills for enrage phases, thus putting contagion on enrage phases makes your party’s dps higher than randomly throwing it out during non-enraged, and having it on cd when you can’t stack it with dps’s buffs.
Also that glyph page is flat out atrocious. There's way too many mp reduction glyphs, several of which are just plain useless. Brilliant Aura of the Merciless only counts for activation, speed casting Arun's Tears are useless for the petty amount of mana they yield, volley of curses barely costs mana to cast in the first place, warding totem isn't cast often enough to justify it. heck, even multiplicative vow is debatable with high end parties if it's necessary. Corruption circle is not glyphed at all, even though It's a goto skill for mana and survivability, and don't get me started on your res. That's just your glyphs alone. While they may be playable, they're a mess for people who know what's going on. If you're worried about your survivability, I can recommend a fleetfoot and 3 hardy crystals, so you can actually get around. you're gonna get 2 shot regardless if you're running 3 or 4 hardy crystals, so the extra mobility out of combat makes dodging easier. As for your rolls, While I'd debate their worth, compared to cd They're... acceptable. Your T formation should only be used If you're unsure of your own ability to survive, otherwise you can easily get a 10 hit boomerang in there from behind, healing your party (yes also the tank) and hurting the boss.Keeping up thrall of vengeance shouldn't be a priority, until awakening gets to console. you don't even need 1 stack of Volley of Curses, as long as the end redux is up (Which literally has its own icon on the debuff bar, lasting a whooping 22 seconds, as compared to the 12,5 of Volley of curses) I'm half asleep right now, and this is what I spotted at a glance. I can guarantee there's more to cover, and I can guarantee there's plenty other minor things that mess up your gameplay.
what Jared and winter said have been optimal for mystics since tera was first released, years behind the patch console is currently at. CDR is definitely the way to go. But, as long as you save contagion, cdr is only beneficial to you and not necessarily your party, so you could run crit if you really liked it more. I love CDR on my mystic tho, since I can more often, totem more often, do everything more often. Also the mana glyph on Auras doesn't reduce the mana cost per tick, just the initial cast, so it's pretty useless too ^^ All in all this is probably really great guide for new mystics that don't know what they're doing and need help figuring this all out, keep at it!! ^^
If your party start giving you trouble tell them to start using a slaying crystal and let them fight at 50% hp they will be able to do more dmg and you can take a back seat and enjoy a carry but if they are crap let them know to STFU, stop complaining and let you do your job and if I may tbh I always prefer a mystic in my party just because of that crit buff they give as a zerker that comes in handy and just wait till the arsenal and apex skill patch comes out for consoles mystics can give an extra 10% dps when fighting a boss.

Won't lie some of this is gibberish to me lol. I'm loving my mystic, but in the very first dungeon I played at lvl20 Lok keep or something, I already got yelled at for using my thrall of protection x_x. They also complained I wasn't keeping them healed, but looking at their health the ENTIRE time no one took more than 10% of their health before I was healing them, I also spammed the nodes just in case. One thing I would like to know if anyone can help me out that would be great, can you drop nodes at range or is it always at your feet, I find it hard to give nodes to a tank when they are that close to a boss.
Sadly that's part of being a mystic (really any healer class). No matter how good you are, people will take their failures out on you. There's also A LOT of assholes on Tera who take the game too seriously. Just do your best, learn, have fun, and don't give up!
I play priest and i fucking hate it cause of the peoples i group with, just cause i'm a healer i cannot sustain healing people that are always in the fucking enemies AOE then they get 1 hit kill they blame me for not keeping them alive its bad enough i got to stay away from mobs so they don't 1 hit me since dps don't know how to keep aggro just doing damage.

Ok than you play in low lvl... the tank pet never get aggro in lvl 65 inis never! Im a Mystik ( gs 424) and really for every new player dont play healer if you dont want to work hard to handel all, buffs debuff, rez-bait, clear, stunning, Interrupt, and more.
Correct, I was 62 when I wrote the comment and a few levels later I now see that the scale shifted in my favor, I almost never lose aggro now.
I have no issue with working hard, helping others sounds like a gratifying thing to do, even if people don't always appreciate it. Can't wait to play Mystic.

Nova I say this because depending on chains is limiting. For me having much more control on what you're doing is fantastic. That's just me though, that's why I'm recommending it. Maybe they have worked for others in the past, but from personal experience when trying to tank and from playing with a buddy who has tanked, we both prefer to never have a ToP during a boss fight, even if someone dies and they need the endurance buff again. From a tanking perspective, it is annoying having to fight for agro. From a dps perspective, it is doubly annoying having to spend most of the life span of the ToP running for position instead of attacking. It gets so annoying at times that I just say screw it and I stop worrying about attacking from behind and just attack where I am.
Edit: I forgot to mention that my experience with tanking(on a brawler) are limited to dungeons below GS 410, so I have no clue if it is better or worse for true end game.
i find it handy too have my ToP up, when mobs are starting too attack me and they interupt my heals. Then i set my pet out too get rid of the attackers. Not sure though, but i think my ToP pet won't attack when i heal only, can anyone clarify this? Futher i use ToP for solo purpose, when everyone left after defeating a boss and i have so stuff left to do.
Use it only at the start of the dungeon and when somebody dies . You can unsummon it by using thrall of life. I play on PC, but i am sure thats how it is for console too.

Having Maine's a mystic Theo the version you have on console (and still do) I can say that I only have a few corrections. Teleport jaunt is not your only IFrame. Curruption ring is one as well in the beginning. Also you NEED to drop motes WAY more often. If you go down, or you can't get to someone fast enough, they're the only other means of healing. Unless you're close enough for warding totem to effect them. I would suggest putting another brilliant crystals in your weapon and running 4 succoring on your accessories. You're burning through too much Mana per skill, which is I assume why you don't drop more notes. You're still going to crit heal more than enough. You could honestly even switch out your swift for a crit srystal if need be instead of sacrificing a brilliant. You should be far enough away that it's not needed anyways.

The first 2m of the video is a general rule for healers lol, in summary kite the field, heal the party, dodge aoes, and only dps when you're sure nobody's going to die in the next few seconds. If people are intentionally dying or just stupid, leave them dead even if they're the tank and perhaps they'll learn to be nice to the healer. Sorry I'll watch the video now lol

Mystic is kind of a tank because of the Thrall of protection and I am a level 36 mystic and I deal more damage than most of my allies at the same level
NO, mystic is anything, but a tank. Do not even think about summoning a thrall of protection with a low lvl tank and if you do, do it once for the buff and never again (Except if somebody dies, then you can use thrall of life to summon it again)
Just to be clear, doing more damage makes you a DPS. A tank can mitigate more damage. A healer can heal through damage. A thrall that heals is convenient.
I find the struggle is staying alive. I get caught casting and die. Also movement speed sucks. The pie dance mechanic wrecks me
What defines out of combat for movement?
This is why you need to learn how to time your stuff correctly but do not worry, i am sure those problems will disappear with time.

double crit rolls is one of the shittiest builds you can run, the benefits of using double cooldown rolls or double attack speed rolls are so much better. double attack speed is especially good for a mystic because they tend to get locked into animations often, such as cleanse or lock-on heal, which can lead to death and i definetly think that is a subject you should've touched more on instead of saying ''lol yeah sacrifice a bit of survivability for more crit''. you should also never use bottom roll crit if you dont have a fourth roll because you are sacrificing 4,5% attack speed, which again, for a mystic, is incredibly vital for your survival. i think you should really consider these things before putting something like that in a guide, as it turns into a form of misinformation, especially since you've mentioned the person who has made a mystic guide on essentialmana, that didnt recommend double crit factor rolls at all, and only recommended the bottom crit roll if you can use a 4th roll. now i dont know the meta on console, but when it comes to the pc version, double crit rolls are a big no no and you will never find any proper mystic running with those rolls. the rest of the guide was decent, but the double crit rolls part really bugged me as a support main, and knowing that people probably actually followed that with their mystics bugs me even more, because its the worst possible build you could go for as a mystic.

Great guide :))) but id never use crit build (vyrsks) on a mystic cos of auras. I use at speed and endurance vyrsks and I heal crit more than I need. With lock on heal I heal like 70% hp of my party members. Hence I found crit build useless. the other two more more viable. Also, mystic can heal way more than priest if u exp well enough ^^ WHen it comes to the thall of protection I agree at the end game content cos if tank lose agro to thall at 65 then truly sucks. HOWEVER, using thall of protection at low lvl instances is UTTERLY stupid. that thall does next to no dmg and always make agro switch and at low lvl endurance buff is not unlocked anyway so I see no point of using it. To be fair 90% of mystics I played with use tha tthall without thinking. again im speaking about low lvl instances not the end game content. :)

A lot of this is really wrong, you don't need 3 stacks of volley up 24/7, just 1. Only contagion during enrage. Crit/attack speed builds are pointless, energetic etchings + CD rolls are way more important than anything, more CD reduction = more contagion, heals, resses, everything that supports your party. A lot of this information is just wrong and you shouldn't be feeding new players with it.
Nova even pre spellbound patch the build you’re giving is pointless. Stacking crit on healers is pointless because crits are already high and you’re better off rolling cd reduction and getting energetic etchings. Especially on a healer like a mystic where you already get additional crit from your auras, it makes it even more of a uselsss stat to stack. The reason I say only save contagion for enrage is because dps should roll and save their high dps skills for enrage phases, thus putting contagion on enrage phases makes your party’s dps higher than randomly throwing it out during non-enraged, and having it on cd when you can’t stack it with dps’s buffs.
Hey I'm a PC player looking for good guides on mystic, can you point in any direction of good guides for PC players?
Also that glyph page is flat out atrocious. There's way too many mp reduction glyphs, several of which are just plain useless. Brilliant Aura of the Merciless only counts for activation, speed casting Arun's Tears are useless for the petty amount of mana they yield, volley of curses barely costs mana to cast in the first place, warding totem isn't cast often enough to justify it. heck, even multiplicative vow is debatable with high end parties if it's necessary. Corruption circle is not glyphed at all, even though It's a goto skill for mana and survivability, and don't get me started on your res.
That's just your glyphs alone. While they may be playable, they're a mess for people who know what's going on. If you're worried about your survivability, I can recommend a fleetfoot and 3 hardy crystals, so you can actually get around. you're gonna get 2 shot regardless if you're running 3 or 4 hardy crystals, so the extra mobility out of combat makes dodging easier.
As for your rolls, While I'd debate their worth, compared to cd They're... acceptable.
Your T formation should only be used If you're unsure of your own ability to survive, otherwise you can easily get a 10 hit boomerang in there from behind, healing your party (yes also the tank) and hurting the boss.Keeping up thrall of vengeance shouldn't be a priority, until awakening gets to console. you don't even need 1 stack of Volley of Curses, as long as the end redux is up (Which literally has its own icon on the debuff bar, lasting a whooping 22 seconds, as compared to the 12,5 of Volley of curses)
I'm half asleep right now, and this is what I spotted at a glance. I can guarantee there's more to cover, and I can guarantee there's plenty other minor things that mess up your gameplay.
what Jared and winter said have been optimal for mystics since tera was first released, years behind the patch console is currently at. CDR is definitely the way to go. But, as long as you save contagion, cdr is only beneficial to you and not necessarily your party, so you could run crit if you really liked it more. I love CDR on my mystic tho, since I can more often, totem more often, do everything more often. Also the mana glyph on Auras doesn't reduce the mana cost per tick, just the initial cast, so it's pretty useless too ^^ All in all this is probably really great guide for new mystics that don't know what they're doing and need help figuring this all out, keep at it!! ^^
If your party start giving you trouble tell them to start using a slaying crystal and let them fight at 50% hp they will be able to do more dmg and you can take a back seat and enjoy a carry but if they are crap let them know to STFU, stop complaining and let you do your job and if I may tbh I always prefer a mystic in my party just because of that crit buff they give as a zerker that comes in handy and just wait till the arsenal and apex skill patch comes out for consoles mystics can give an extra 10% dps when fighting a boss.

Won't lie some of this is gibberish to me lol. I'm loving my mystic, but in the very first dungeon I played at lvl20 Lok keep or something, I already got yelled at for using my thrall of protection x_x. They also complained I wasn't keeping them healed, but looking at their health the ENTIRE time no one took more than 10% of their health before I was healing them, I also spammed the nodes just in case. One thing I would like to know if anyone can help me out that would be great, can you drop nodes at range or is it always at your feet, I find it hard to give nodes to a tank when they are that close to a boss.
Sadly that's part of being a mystic (really any healer class). No matter how good you are, people will take their failures out on you. There's also A LOT of assholes on Tera who take the game too seriously. Just do your best, learn, have fun, and don't give up!

I play priest and i fucking hate it cause of the peoples i group with, just cause i'm a healer i cannot sustain healing people that are always in the fucking enemies AOE then they get 1 hit kill they blame me for not keeping them alive its bad enough i got to stay away from mobs so they don't 1 hit me since dps don't know how to keep aggro just doing damage.
