- Update 2: I also wanted to note if you click on a monitor and check the "main display" checkbox. This will make that monitor the primary screen. So for example if you launch a game, it will open on the main monitor.
Update 1: To rotate the monitors, click on the one you want 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. Then scroll down and select Display Orientation.

Super useful tips:
-Press Windows Key + P (think of it as project) to edit basic second monitor output.
-Remember you can drag the screens, 2, 1, 3 in any order or place you like.
-Pressing Windows Key + Left, Right, up, down, moves windows between monitors.
Say you have 1 Excel open on monitor 2. To move it to monitor 3 simple, make sure its selected and hit Windows keys + Right arrow, 2x to move to monitor 1, and 2 more times for monitor 3.
With this simple hotkey you can move windows around different screens super fast. Also merge windows.

if you want to align them perfectly stretch a window across all 3 monitors then adjust
how
That's smart
@@userzerone you take any window, like file explorer, chrome etc. do not maximize it and then strech it over all 3 monitors ez
Thank you! all these years, I didn't even know you could move the monitor displays in the setting. You just blew my mind!
They certainly do not make it obvious. Once you have them set right it really makes a huge difference.
same here lol, just realized you could drag them around
THIS was the BEST, most CLEAR explanation - and the only one that worked for me. THANK YOU!
The dragging thing was exactly what I needed thank you so much, I didnt know you had to drag it to align them correctly
Man, I had no idea this this was a thing. Also you helped me to figure out how to arrange my multi-monitor set up so that my mouse went from left to right across all three monitors in the order I had my monitors arranged, when I was just about to give up.
Bro thank you this helped so much, I had so much trouble dragging the mouse hoping it get on the correct screen this video saved me thank youuuuu
You sir are a blessing. This is what youtube should be about, good tips and tricks to make day to day living to cope with. I have learnt something useful today. I am switching from a horizontal-horizontal dual screen setup to a horizontal-vertical setup and my mouse pointer is all over the place when I move it across both screens. So this tutorial really has helped me on how to be able to rectify the issue. Thank you.
There's always 5 minute crafts if you want to unlearn a life hack or 2 XD

I had no idea I could click and drag the orientation of the displays!! Thank you!!
Huge difference. Thank you so much!!
I just setted a dual monitor setup, and the mouse transition wasn't aligned, I didn't pay much attention to it, and actually I was searching for a video for a way to make my monitors act more independently. But you said it, "you might think it's not a big deal but over time it can get really annoying" so I took my time experimenting with this monitor tranisiton aligment, and I noticed that a small change in the position of the squares makes a huge difference in the actual transition with the mouse. I nailed it down to perfect now. I thought this was not possible before, because I tired to play with this setting as well, not undestanding the extreme sensitivity of it, this was the key for me. Thanks of this video :)
Dude! Thank you. This was driving me nuts. I hope you’re still around 2 years after your vid to get this note. Your vid was so helpful.

I recently turned my far right monitor verticle. For a couple weeks now, have had to deal with the issue of the "mouse jump" when moving from the default screen to portrait mode. This slight tweek of the visual display for the monitor.... that saves me a bunch of frustration. Much appreciated!!!
Solved my problem. Thank you

you are a life saver i love you thanks !:)
This is 2 years old but I have to add, you can hold ctrl and drag the screens on that menu without it snapping - Very good if you want to just move them pixels at a time.
Thanks didn't know that.
Thanks
First of all, I have no idea how my monitor alignments got reversed. But the dragging the display order thing was the solution that I needed and the rest kinda fell into place. Thanks !
thank you sooooo much..
thank you !!
Thanks.👍🏼 subbed
Thanks Man!!!! i now have set up my monitors and need to relocate my apps (all good though)
It's crazy how "tech savy" they say people are these days but 99% dont even know the basics.
Nice
exactly what i needed. You are amazing. Also our monitors are set up the same lol
Awesome, lol.
Thank you for this, had a problem running dual monitors after tower swap where mouse would jump up/down between monitors when moving curser screen to screen. Went to display settings after seeing this vid and realized the 1 & 2 weren't aligned in the settings, My monitors are both the exact same size and had been to this setting many times and didn't even know you could adjust this. This has been bothering my OCD for months!
Thank you...so...so...much
THANK YOU BOSSSKUU
Thank youuuuuuuu
Bruh! I was losing my shit because my mousing was skipping over a monitor. Thank you so much!
had no idea you could drag the monitor icon, think that says my level of computer knowledge 😅
thnx
ty
It looks like your vertical monitor and middle monitor aren't flush at the bottom ( but in the software they are flush ) and it seems to work fine moving the mouse across the 2 displays without any misalignment
Ive got a 22" and 27" but both screens show as the same size... how do I change the size of the bigger one in the display settings
when im moving the display the one is shows is bigger then the actual display
i feel like such a schmuck right now ive had this pain for a year with my 2 monitors and it just took a 5 second fix. thanks
I feel like that's how life usually is.
BRUH i did not you u can drag them wtf!! thank you so much dude
mine is lined up properly but wont transition to the other monitor without whipping the mouse really fast, why is that?
my laptop is smaller in screen size but has the same max resolution as the second monitor, both shown as the same size in the display settings so I can't adjust it, any tips?
Is there a way to change monitor size without changing the resolution because one of my monitors are 21 inch and the other 24 inch so it cant be fully aligned cause on windows 10 rearrange monitor they are the same size and its annoying because only one bit is aligned and they are both 1080p
I have 3 screens set up like yours, 2 and 3 are always off as i use 1 for my main screen, now when i turn screen 1 off to go to the store etc..etcc.. and turn it back on, i open web browser or email app or calculator everything shows up on screen 2. any idea on how to fix this?
You want to check the box for main display. So select a sceen, and make sure its checked. This goes the same for if you want to launch a game for example in monitor 1, 2 or 3. Just set the one you want as the main and it should open there.
how do you do this with 3 monitors that are 1080p-1440 and 4k
This is so helpful. Thank you for the video. One thing I can't figure out is why some windows are opening on the monitor I have set as primary and why some are opening on the secondary monitor. Can you help me with this?
They tend to remember where they were from the last time they were opened but unfortunately Windows is just absolutely horrendous at managing this stuff it's beyond frustrating. Try for example opening an app dragging it to the screen you want and then closing it and then opening it again It should open where you left it.
i have dual moniters and it shows that one is way larger than the other but they are the same sized moniter so how do i changes moniter size?
This is due to the resolution. It's a little obnoxious to have mismatching monitors but there's not really much you can do. Just think of it as like even though they're the same size physicaly the density of the picture is much higher. I recommend aligning the bottoms and pretending they're essentially the same size.
