I got the new one with the sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel. Yet I found this discontinued one brand new on e bay from Japan and I bought it. The older one looks better
They make a 44mm 200m Marine Master of sorts! But yes I agree Seiko needs some smaller watches. I bought one of the new mini turtles which is an awesome watch. Wears like a 40mm despite its 42.3mm size.
I just bought the new MM300 (SLA021/SBDX023) for $2800 from an AD and love it. It's a TALL watch though. My Seiko collection is almost complete (Monster, Turtle, SBDC051, MM300)... Bad thing though is, I now feel like the only thing for me left to do with Seiko is to buy a Grand Seiko. I'm really eyeing the GMT model with the sapphire bezel and spring drive.
@@mttqll8623 Tuna is a cool watch (not the Baby Tuna). I'm just not into quartz and the Tuna doesn't wear well on my wrist as it lays very flat. I think the new Gundam versions are very cool, but ouch the price.
$2,500 is pretty steep honestly. I suppose it’s worth it if you’re actually a diver but there are lots of watches I’d rather spend that kind of money on.
If you are only focused on cost or worried about resale, it’s best to stay closer to the $500 watches. If you are wanting to experience the top Seiko diver then yes it’s worth it. They are not really good to compare, only do it if it makes sense to you. If you are happy with the mm200 then stay with it (amazing watch).
I fell in love with my 51mas and second guessed myself once I saw the baby MM. Both are excellent in their own right and my 51mas is finished almost as well as any Omega Ive seen floating around. Ive never seen an MM in person, but Id imagine its on another level.
I had the SBDC053. I loved that watch but sold it to acquire the MM. The Matinemaster is on another level and must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.
I would have loved to have that bracelet while I was actively diving. Dive extensions that are either open or closed are helpful, but the much more adjustible new desigh would have been perfect! I do agree that it is overly thick for desk divers!
Hi Rob, I am thinking about selling my Doxa 750t to put towards a pre owned MM300. Do you have any thoughts between the two since you have reviewed both? Thanks!
The only thing Doxa has going for it is the unique look. I started into watches with Doxa. Had 5 or 6 750t’s and all their other stuff. After trying Seiko’s higher end stuff like mm300, mm600, and the emperor tuna Doxa is cheap and quality is incomparable.
I have a sbdx001(mm300) and a sbdb001(mm600) in my collection. Love them!
Easily my favourite Seiko. Thank you for another great video Rob :)
Love this watch. I haven't bought another watch since I got it.
Amen brother
pro trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Emery Darwin Yup, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself :D
same here too when i bought this no more other watch i’m interesting

I recently acquired this exact watch. As good as any of my Swiss watches. For me, you have reached Seiko nirvana when this is acquired.
That Armida is great. Glad you are still wearing it. Way underrated company. Cheers.
Great Video Rob. I picked up a new Seiko MM SBBN031mm Tuna a while back wish I had seen this first. It’s a beauty 👍
seiko needs to make a 40mm MM200. that would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

How about a tuna?

You left out the skx007
Great watch and the GS GMT is incredible. Well worth the money.
When I had my MM300, I wore it on a Crafter Blue fitted rubber strap with the seiko clasp.
I have mine on a Strapcode Angus Jubilee...it looks awesome!! And highest advertised price I’ve seen to date is $3800...which is a reach!
Gotta boil these factory rubber straps and they get extremely soft and comfortable.

Dont say that seiko fans might hate you. For them everything seiko is god.
Very nice well rounded review.
I bought an SBDC051 and my friend bought an SBDC063. Awesome watches, both. Is the marine master really worth 3 times the prices of the "baby MM"?
I can see your argument about the cost but I would say yes it is worth 3x the cost (but that's just my opinion).

All that said. I am fan of the less expensive and would buy the mm200. Lol

I thought Seiko was shit,till I bought One,n their history the don't blag about,got a 5 with a rally strap, blueface, Quality.
Wish I had $2500 sitting around...
Too big and chunky for me. But I've never seen one in person and I'm sure it's totally different.
I wasn't really considering a MM300 until I saw one in person. It's so gorgeous I bought one new.
Looks like a giant skx
They all look the same. $100-$4,000 seikos. Plus those "mods"

@@LARSENBISQUITS Do you think the MM300 is still worth it at the current prices? I've seen them used for around 1,700-2,000 and new for 2,500-3000
Nice watch, but too difficult to service.
Yup sucks when it needs to go back to Japan.
@@dustinr16 I think you could service it at the Seiko service center in Mahwah New Jersey.
Good luck with Mahwah. They are detached from their work.
CLO27 You can send it to NJ but they send it to Seiko Japan as far as I know. Several month turn around and $$$.
7:18 😅
I ordered the blue one without the text "Marinemaster" on it!
for 2800 I would get a tudor bb ss version before this . This is nice but I wouldnt personally spend more than 2200 for one of these.
Too thick for 300m. Same thick size other brand can go with 1000m. Seiko must do homework.
do you dive deeper than 300m?
@@josegabriel5720 thats not my point. My point is this watches is big and thick same size as rolex sea dweller but can go only 300m.
