I am with ya. Used to like a little loudness when I was younger. The older I get the more I appreciate not hearing the truck going down the road. A nice quiet truck. 😂
Great video Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith always enjoy your builds. Looking forward to the mini truck but plans change. Thanks for sharing stay safe Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith.
Had lots of these in Southern Africa with drop sides. After living there for 15 years and returning to live here for a couple years,my impression was :everything is big in America. Vehicles, houses, and people. Can understand why she would like something like that for its manuverability and utility. It’s not for rock climbing or river crossing.
Man I really thought that door was going to open up to a new mini truck or sxs outside. I said in the past that how I found your channel was because I bought a Honda mini truck the acty attack Model with locking diff and ultra low forward and reverse and man my buddies and I put that thing thru some trails and it keeps going I daily drive it a few miles to work each day it’s been reliable a few a friends have bought minis but the Hondas seem to hold up the best and seem to be easier to get parts for. Enjoy the videos as always. Merry Christmas and happy new year
Would it not be significantly cheaper, easier and quicker to just get a SWB Colorado or F150? It comes with more power, can be 4x4 and just generally more capable in every way. Those Kei trucks only really make sense if they're suitable the way they are.
in theory, yes. in reality, she wants this truck because of its size. lots of trees on the properties. this truck can get around them. i dont think any other typical small truck would. she wants this truck....i will build her this trucks. its ok.
😁😁😁 My dear Misses Smith. I like a girl who knows what she wants/needs. 😘 My guess is, that you simply need another vehicle that suits your needs better and doesn't require such massive modifications. How about getting for instance something like a Suzuki Jimny (Samurai?)? Or a Dacia (Renault) Duster? Or a Toyota Hiace? I'm sure that your ingenious husband could change one of those into a little dump truck. Best regards, luck and especially health to all 3 of you. Post Scriptum: I wish y'all nice festive days and a good transition of the year.
she loves this little thing. she doesnt ever ask for much. if this is what she wants, this is what she will get. i offered to buy her a polaris ranger. it would suit her every want and need. she says no. on with the build!
@j.c.smithprojects Dear Mr. Smith. Thanks for replying and especially for giving a heart to my comment. As you know, I always and totally appreciate both very much. 2) Happy wife, happy life. It's great that you will do almost everything for your great wife. 3) You nevertheless might wanna check out "Low Buck Garage". He owns a yellow mini truck/key truck that seems just a hair bigger than yours. Maybe something like that would be the real deal respectively better vehicle to upgrade? 4) But it's of course your party respectively your channel and I watch any content you put out anyway. Sincerely yours.
I'm thinking a full size pick up I did years ago a pickup chassis with a Camaro body . You like and have access to plenty of ford trucks whatever u choose I'm sure will be cool and hopefully work out for the Mrs ,
Could be wrong but believe the third gen Honda ACTY was offered with 4wd/Auto/AC. You appear to have a 3rd gen Mitsu. The ACTY has FI and about 50% more hp. In either case it seems the real issue, while an understandable desire, is a dump bed made of steel. The extra weight of that over the stock bed is going to diminish the payload capacity to the point the truck will probably be overloaded with any payload. Would it be worth fabricating it out of aluminum? I think it would be cheaper and easier on yourself to get a Kei closer to the desired spec from the factory. It would seem you will easily have as much or more $ into the parts needed to get the Mitsu to desired spec. In a trade it seems the level of effort to swap the wheels (?) and dump hardware would be less than swapping drivetrain and the potential "gotchas" there. Lastly, a 2000-ish Ford Ranger 4wd is actually the same height, but is wider, however I think most of the additional width is from the mirrors. The Ranger would be much more powerful and have higher P/L. I did hear what you said about Mrs. Smith WANTING the Kei though. I doubt she cares if Mitsu or Honda.
"I hate loud stuff!" Wonderful quote Mrs. Smith. My thoughts exactly.

Thought I was listening to Cleatus McFarland with the minny truck revving to the chip
That thing sounds like a bee stuck in a bucket of tar...
Waiting for a return video on this mini ride.. A Man's work is never done.....

Sounds like she needs a full size 4x4 vs the mini-truck.
If you need any help with the lift and such, reach out to Four Bros in Bonnyville Alberta Canada.
LHD are rare for these Kei trucks?
yes

Hahaha is this where the small block will end up?
I’d look for a 4wd ford ranger and put a dump bed on it at this point …looking at it financially
she wants this truck because of its narrow width and short wheelbase. there are so many trees on the properties she want to use this on.
All plans are written in sand. Turn upside down, shake, redraw.
Look at the mini truck Grind Hard plumbing built using a 6x6 ranger!
Is that truck one from Korea? All of the Japanese ones I’ve seen are right hand drive
no. it was original built to be sent to the us.
Or in that F150
Put a lift kit on the Mrs. boots.
Button it up and send it down the road.
not unless she changes her mind, she loves this little thing.
Mini truck drop it on a chassis 4x4 with that small block
i was putting together a plan for something similar. she doesnt want that small block if we can make something else work.

Small v8 finds a home.
Put s diesel in it !!!!!
I love the videos but the only projects he finishes is the ones he sells. this one is more then 2 years old.
I’ve never been the first to comment on a video before
someone got in 1 minute before you.
Sell it and buy one with AC and 4x4.
still going to be manual and under powered....
