@PleasantGreen I wonder if you could do an episode on Elon Musk quantum AI trading platform scam that appears to be going around on social media sites. I think lots of people might be falling for it. I was interested in it, but when I read all the people praising it in the comments, they all seem to be fake accounts. I’m not sure how the scam works. I don’t want to enter my details to find out. Perhaps you could find out how and what they are scamming.
Thanks I love your channel 👍

thank you ben! i get about 20 scam calls a day is no annoying help me how i can stop it. literaly they call me every day with no fail..
The IRS keeps calling me for back taxes. I’m gunna just ignore them. Even though I haven’t done taxes in a decade it’s gotta be a scam!

Don’t answer it. Let them send u something in the mail. The IRS will NEVER call u
The IRS never does phone calls so that makes perfect sense.

First time a wife talked sense LOL
@1marcelfilms.Sounds like SOMEONE'S a little bitter and angry. Lmao. Take a chill pill. Take your wife out. Give her some romance instead of ignoring her to watch football all night then expecting to hop on. It's not hard honey. Trust me.

This happened to my dad just recently. Mom called me and said something suspicious was going on. He was in the middle of the encounter and I had him hang up and unplug the modem.
I SPOOFED HIS MOM! and she loved it!

Truth!
The last time I called them, it was a 45-minute wait to talk to someone.
If anyone has ever tried calling a Bank, Gov dept, or Utility Service, you know how it works!
You are number 42 in the queue, your call is important to us, an agent will answer when available...
@@stpfs9281 42..? Is that all..? We had 103 once if I remember right, gave up in the end.
Just like the ss office.
I got an IRS scam call many years ago when it was the predominant scam. I was at work and put it on speakerphone and had half of my office laughing because of the shenanigans I put them through, one of which was I had a co-worker pull up a zip code in the middle of absolutely nowhere in Nevada and pretended like all I had was a bicycle to get there. I then said "I think I need to call Walmart before I ride all the way over there to make sure they have the gift cards I need" much to the annoyance of the scammer who was screaming at me that I was going to be arrested.
I called Walmart (really a co-worker pretending to be Walmart) who told me that it was a scam and that I should hang up. The scammer said some choice 4 letter (and Hindi) words at me and hung up.
That was 45 minutes of that scammer's time he will never get back! It was great fun.
4 hindi words scammer said was “Teri maa ki chut” .. lol😂😂😂😂
IRS are call me too... But we don't have them in Denmark - They are called skat. (Wrong spoof ?)
I've actually had IRS scammers block me. :)
I wondered how these jerks call me from a local number. This is messed up because if someone in your family needs to use someone else's phone in an emergency, you don't know if it's legit them or someone trying to scam you and/or getting a sample of your voice to use AI to call your family pretending to be you. And these people are everywhere, sadly. Great work putting them out there!
😳
This happened to me today I got a call from my "Bank" so I said I was busy and would call back.
The more I said I would call back, and asked for their extension number and name, the more he got so mad. So I hung up.
Called the bank to make sure. They said they never called me at all.
Their videos help, educate and create awareness.
Thank you for that!
I once got a caller ID spoofed as my OWN number. That was awkward for them. I actually answered just to have fun with them. After confronting them, they never spoofed me again. But wow, they weren’t the brightest bulbs in the pack 🤦🏻♂️
Had the same happen to me. I never answered it.
I’ve had that happen twice, never answered it.
I had that happen for a couple of days in a row a while back. I never answered and they never left a message. it eventually stopped.
I have an internet phone interface that allows me to forward incoming calls to my cell, etc. Persistent scammers find that they become the forwarded number of the day and get calls from all the other scammers.
They tried to get into your voicemail
They can scam you, but when you scam them, they get an attitude or run. I love it when they get payback it's awesome 😂😂😂😂😂
I could have been a victim but I'm sure learning now from listening to your channel!
Pleasant Green's ability to blend engaging storytelling with accurate portrayals of scams deserves commendation. Their work contributes significantly to public awareness and preparedness.
I started telling the sales scammers that call, after hearing their spiel, that I don’t have any credit cards or bank account, but I do have checks. It’s hilarious how many don’t right away catch that I don’t have a bank account but am willing to pay with a check. 🤣🤣🤣
Scammers are greedy, desperate, and stupid. There is a video of a Woman who was playing along with a Scammer and the Scammer was like,"Tell me your bank account number and your routing number and I'll deposit $5,000 in it. " The Woman responded,"My bank account number is 12345678910111213141516. My routing number is 123456789." The Scammer fell for it! 🤦♀️
Shamefully I fell for the banking scam. They called me using my bank’s number and they were a native English speaker too. Luckily I didn’t lose any money as the bank blocked the transaction. Boy did it shake me up though. I’ve never fallen for a scam in my life.
Wow, I'm glad it didn't go through!!
BTW, you may want to remove your last sentence as it goes against your first sentence..
@@Julia-uh4li yeah I guess I should’ve said “I had never fallen for a scam up until that point”. And hopefully I never will again
@@reanukeeves2k77 Don't mind Julia, the comments on these kinds of videos are full of self-righteous people who would "never" fall for a scam and love to try to make people feel stupid for doing so. @@reanukeeves2k77 I read it as "I'd never fallen for a scam in my life", as in "I had", as in "I had, until then"
@@reanukeeves2k77happened to me too. Even using my small town credit unions number. And right after my card was breached. I’m assuming they breached the bank and was able to get client list first and was able to use previous actions on the account for social engineering. I said I would just go to the bank myself. Then they said all I had to do is enter on the phone. I’m like this sounds way too high tech to be a scam and they know way too much. They were prepped to the 9s
I love that just a handful of youtubers have disrupted the entire call center scam community. Good work!
So from now on just let all calls go to voicemail. If it is an actual call they will leave a message. This is becoming insane! Ashton and Arts faces were priceless! 😂 ❤
Most people have activated their service "Call Screening",
one problem is that you can't save or list the numbers, maybe for security, I've found a way :)
Brilliant, that moment when he said Hi Pierogi (I watch Scammers Payback too ;-) ) just shows how the impact you guys are having on these scammers. Please please keep up the good work. Wow I had to scroll pretty far while reading the comments and this was a pleasant surprise 😂
In the UK, there's a lot of scammers that spoof the numbers of other random people in their database. If you call the number back, you'll get someone on the other side who is thoroughly confused by why you're calling: and I've been on the other side of this conversation too, being called by someone asking about a call I know I didn't make. This makes it very hard, and very confusing in fact, to track down missed calls!
I got texts from someone claiming I called them. Had to show them my recent call log (with names covered up) to prove it was a spoofed number. They stopped after that.
Yep, an annoyed woman called me, saying that I'd called here earlier!
lol i got a angry voicemail from some old lady because of this
Mostly nowadays in the UK, if you call the number back, you'll get an 'invalid number' response.
Here in Norway that was a huge problem for a while... Also a scammer had chosen by accident the local police number so the police station started to get more and more calls from people asking the police why they had called them. After some investigation the police found out their number was being used by scammers from outside Norway.
These piles of scum also make it hard for legit tech support. I used to work as a "2nd level" tech support for Bell Canada (for anything beyond internet connectivity like malware, printer setup, etc.), which customers pay for on their Bell bill monthly. They would be transferred to us or come in through chats, where we would then remotely connect to their computer to troubleshoot, clean, etc. I had a few customers accusing me of scamming and asking how they know it's not a scam. All I could say was we won't ask for any personal details, for any money, and even tried to provide the main number for our business, verify Bell's support number to confirm and which province I was in. Even when they said no, all I could do then was suggest they bring their computer to a local technician then and, if they aren't going to use our service, call Bell to cancel their subscription.
To be fair to them, using remote desktop application without knowing the person on the other end is a rather big no-no when it comes to system security. And it's very easy advice to give that even most non-computer savvy people understand.
Having done emergency IT work for multiple companies (often after their system went belly up due to poor IT management), I always advice people to only use remote connect either when they connect to their own system or when they call their IT service provider and then only when they know the company and could physically go there and only when talking to someone they know. And even then only if instructions over the phone wouldn't work.
Bell Canada could work with every other telcom company and fix this. They don't want to.
Do u speak with a heavy Indian accent? If not, I don't understand why would think its a scam.
Do you have an Indian accent?
Just say they called you guys and not the other way around and question where they found the phone number.
Once they realize they initiated contact and it wasn't through a sketchy pop-up, they generally de-escalate
It's wonderful how we've let scammers completely take over the phone network. Truly a great nation.
Yeah it works if you answer and gullible enough to fall for a thick accented indian man.
Until the USA extradite one scammer and give them a typical long sentence this crap will continue unchecked
This has nothing to with how it's done. Its is because the core of the phone system is not designed to prevent this kind of scams. It's build on trust. "I trust you when you say what number you have"
This is a global problem.
@@estelle3005 USA needs to bring freedom to India and liberate the people there!
No. You just need to hang up when someone calls you and you don't know them and you did not initiate the call from them. I have to answer incoming calls as part of my business, but as soon as I figure out that it is not a customer and it is not someone I know, I just immediately hang up on them and then block that number. They may call back from a different number, but I will just hang up on them again. I do not have any lengthy discussion with someone who I do not know and who is not a potential customer. If they say they are from my bank or from some company I use, I tell them I will call them right back, and then I hang up on them and call the bank or the company directly, if I think it might really be them.
This happened to me, the scammers were very smart about it too. Every time I got worried or suspicious they just reassured me by pointing out the service number on the back of my card was the same number they were calling from, they even played a recording of my real bank hold music!
Oh, there are some "smart" scammers? THAT is scary!
Really? You actually thought that your bank employed semi-coherent and inarticulate Indian people in their Fraud Department? And more than one of them? Can I interest you in this bridge in Brooklyn that I have for sale?
@@stpfs9281 Yes, normally they spend their time spear phishing businesses though. They can get near immediate transfers of hundreds of thousands without the same level of fraud/recovery protections for the victims.
Shared this with my grandparent who have been scammed a few times despite me explaining to them for years about these scams..you explain it 100 times better for sure! Thanks!
I had a tuner shop that had my car that wouldn’t answer my calls on a regular basis, so I spoofed their fax number and called their regular business number. They answered immediately and sounded perplexed. I then continued my call with them while they were scratching their heads. It was hilarious!
Sounds like you need to take your car to a better place.... There are plenty of shops with passionate owners/techs. Your shop just sounds like potheads who make money off of idiots.

Can we take a moment to get some cheap thumbs up?
U mean Ben “Dover” 😏
Just imagine how many people have been spared from getting scammed just because they watched one of his videos
You should have spoofed their own call number! That would have been hilarious for them to block the number people have to call to call them. Depending on the VoIP software, it actually is possible to screw up their ability to receive calls if they block their own connecting number.
It does not always work but it is possible depending on the exact software they are using or a couple different softwares but what version they're on.
They have been doing this for years in Australia. I have complained several times but neither the teleco or government body will do anything. There is no reason why they can't block numbers that say they are inside Australia when they originate outside Australia.
" There is no reason why they can't block numbers that say they are inside Australia when they originate outside Australia." Correct. Basically how email sender verification works, or tls certificates. If telecoms don't understand the benefits of cryptography they should just give up and close the business.
Scammers spoofed my number last year. I have this number for 12 years and I wasn't ready to give it up. So I endured weeks of constent calls and messages of people asking me, why I called them. After about 4 weeks the calls stopped and I had peace and "my number" back.

Don't underestimate women. They have an innate inherently suspicious nature: they're not easily fooled and they can easily spot a con trick without the help of any videos. For instance, you've never seen a woman trying to put money down on The Three Card Trick, have you? Elderly women excepted because their mental faculties are diminishing, women are usually very careful about trusting people where money is concerned. The only confidence tricks that they occasionally fall for are Romance Scams and anything to do with luck, astrology, or fortune telling.
Yes, best thing to do is to say that you will call them back.
Ben, and team. Great work. For as evil as these people are, you surpass them in goodness tenfold.
Here is how to disrupt the scammers who call: Once you say "hello" you instantly hit the mute button. They typically stay on the line for 20 seconds to one minute. You can even come back on the line after 10 seconds and say "hello" and hit mute again. I have had the scammers on for five minutes. Put them on your speaker mute so you can hear them but they can't hear you. One person doing this will make no difference, but if everyone put them on mute instead of hanging up we could seriously disrupt the scammer networks. Thanks Ben for all you do.
Not all heroes wear capes as they say. Please keep up the great work and keep saving the poor innocent souls getting scammed!
You got called Pierogi good job

I’m highly suspicious of anything to do with money or banking. Even when calls have come from my genuine bank I don’t believe them. I don’t give out information over the phone period. I always use the chat function in my banking app and it has kept me safe so far 🤞🤞
Sometimes at the bank I work at, back office wants to call and do verification of income or whatever. When that happens most of our customers come into the branch and have bank employees call them back via internal numbers to get the verification done, because I understand being skeptical. Lol
@@guitarbass22this why I like having a physical local bank vs those online ones. Like if I ever have an issue I can walk into any branch. And talk with someone. Can’t do that with an online only bank

My bank has never called me. Why would they? I never do any online banking or put any of my financial (or other identifying details) online. I'm not lazy or trying to show off with slick technology, so I don't use debit cards, or pay for stuff with my phone. I only use ATMs or go to my bank in person to take money out. Do you know how easy it is to get good discounts nowadays if you pay by cash for bigger items?
I was actually watching the Livestream of Trilogy Media that day you spoofed their numbers 😄. Live Chat was divided trying to figure out who it was...You or Karl Rock LOL! It's scary though how easy it is to spoof numbers. Thank you for showing us and things to watch out for etc. I'm better informed now than I was before I found all you guys and the People's Call Center. :)
4:53 businesses can also spoof their own number to hide the fact that the call is coming from someone’s direct line and display just the front desk number, for example. That’s a legit use case, unlike impersonations.
Moments like 13:15 are just pure justice for everyone, they are scared for their lives knowing that someone better than them found their location. Keep this work going Pleasant Green!!

Yeah, I once got a call from an unknown number, the woman speaking with a strong Indian accent who called ME, said instead of 'hallo' that she needed my name and certain account details. I looked at the receiver and asked who she is and what she wants.
She then told me she was from my bank. I laughed at her and said 'nice try', then she got angry and I hung up.
Then I called my bank.
She was actually telling the truth.
I mean who trained her?
I always call back on an established number, when anyone official calls me, then I know I am speaking with the right person.
I called my bank, got an African voice (which is normally OK), but she asked for numbers from my 8 digit passcode, *twice!*

One of my former military instructors at language school served in Vietnam. He said after a night time fire fight, they went on patrol the next day and found one of the enemy killed in the firefight. It was the body of their Vietnamese BARBER. He gave American servicemen haircuts by day, and shot at them at night.. Several mainstream businesses actually use call centers in India, so guessing some of those same call center daytime employees have a side scamming night job.

@@stpfs9281 Phone companies and energy providers, as well as some banks, now outsource their call handling to India. One time, I got a call from none other than myself. Imagine your phone ringing and the caller ID is your name. 😂😂😂
It happened to me too
I love your videos. Very informative and great information that people need that might not know the signs of a scam. Thank you for your work.
Pleasant Green: so happy you are working hard to prevent people from being scammed that only question is if you can make same information in Spanish with captions or something like that. If you can do that you will be able to help more people from different countries, thank you and keep up the awesome job. 😊
you can try to use youtube's auto translate captions
Hi Ben, sharing your video with my class tomorrow. I teach older Australians how to be safe online. Your videos are a great resource.
I love how they thought you were Scammer Payback.
I wish I was smart enough to do this kind of work. You're doing a good service
thank you all for the scam baiting work that you all do its amazing and a breath of fresh air to have great people in this world. God Bless!
Please remember that bad people are usually the 1% who make the most noise, everyone else gets on with their lives.
I once had an incoming phone call from myself. As if I'd think, "Oh, that must be legit - it's from me!"
How can scammers be so stupid to mix up the dialed number with the spoofed number?
Maybe they don't understand English instructions?
Simply pasted the same number in both boxes!
What I don't understand is why these scammers can spend $$$ on setting up a call center, but aren't willing to pay someone to retype their script in English.
