I received a message on facebook years ago with my fathers name telling me he died out of the US and he left me millions and to contact the lawyer in the message to get it. My dad was not only very much alive but is definitely not a millionaire. I had a good laugh and screenshotted it to show him.
I'm really glad your dad was alive otherwise that would have been an especially awful thing for them to do. And besides the unlikelyhood of that scam working, it being communicated over a Facebook message makes it even more suspicious.
Alexander Dover was one of the most respected jewelers in all of the Cayman Island ( just one island ). I purchased the Hope Diamond from him several years ago.... He sold it to me for only the sum of 550 dollars... 😁🤣
I remembered seeing him in a business meeting in Vancouver back in the day, he was a honest gentleman with a great heart. What a sad news, may his legacy lives forever.
Alexander Dover, the jet-setting jeweler with more bling than a disco ball and a passport thicker than a novel, has passed away. Born in 1959, Alexander was a man of sophistication, or as he liked to call it, "blingosophy." With a taste for the finer things in life, Alexander had mastered the art of juggling between Canada, the Cayman Islands, and Brazil, because why settle for one paradise when you can have three? Rumor has it his frequent flyer miles had their own VIP lounge. Married with two daughters, Alexander proudly called himself the King of the Castle, though he admitted his castle is more like a jewelry store meets a tropical resort. His daughters, fashionistas in training, were known to critique his bling choices with an eye for detail that even a jeweler can appreciate. In a twist that even the best telenovela writers wouldn't dare script, Alexander's family had a run-in with the chaotic traffic of Brazil in 2023. A car accident, or as Alexander would have said, "an unexpected tango with fate," led to a family tragedy. But don't let the somber tone fool you; Alexander insisted on keeping things light because, as he use to put it, "laughter is the best jewel in the crown of life." Alexander's sole surviving relative, Ben Dover, holds down the fort in Ogden, Utah. Yes, you read it right - Ben Dover. It seems the Dovers have a knack for names that keep life amusing. So, if you ever needed a laugh or wanted to discuss the most exquisite gems over a cup of Brazilian coffee or a Cayman Islands sunset, Alexander Dover was your man. Because in his world, bling was the answer to everything, and humor is the crown jewel!
Wow, you actually put a lot of indepth detail into this! Most Posters just said the same tired thing,"RIP Alexander Dover. He was truly a remarkable man who passed too soon. Gone but not forgotten. He is resting in Heaven now." But, you actually made him seem like a REAL man, someone you knew personally, like your actual family member or friend! 😯😀
RIP Alexander, You were a rare man, a person made up by many of the things you have been credited with. Your work with Captain Tuttles during the Korean was what started you on this path of being a true self-made man giving more to others that you kept for yourself. No one really knows what you are made of. But it is the stuff of legend! RIP A. Dover!
Don't send scammers fake IDs, even if it looks ridiculous. Scammers will reuse them and you wont believe how many people will fall for it. Just send them a .jpg file that can't be opened and tell them that you are using Linux or something. 99% of the time they won't care and will move on to the next stage.
Frustratingly, not all of these people are scammers. My father-in-law finds lost property listed by the State, then conducts estate genealogy to find all of the actual legal heirs for the property that is unclaimed. The process is completely different than what the scammers use and the finder's fee is dictated by the State where the property was declared lost or unclaimed.
So sorry for your loss, Uncle Dover will be so missed. Such a handsome Gentleman he was too. He will be looking down happy knowing all the bad scammers will one day have to answer for all the sadness they have caused! They certainly won't be missed. Thanks for everything you do Ben. 😊❤
My deepest sympathies for your loss Ben. If you need anything, kindly let us know. We are here for you. "although far, the Cayman islands are my best asset managers" -Uncle Dover
I don’t remember when was the last time I cried this much. You have left some beautiful memories that will never fade from my heart. Gone yet not forgotten, although we are apart, your money lives within me, forever in my heart. Good bye My favorite uncle, Alexander Dover. Sincere, Ben.
I would imagine that most people who do fall for this probably end up not getting scammed because they get frustrated with all of the requests scammers keep making! And why do scammers always say "Kindly" all of the time? Ben, you did a great job investigating each and everything these clowns do!! Keep up the great work and God bless!
Kindly is due to the language. Its commonly used in Nigeria but they don't realise its not used in professional settings like this. Its a very good clue the person using it is a scammer.
I'm going to miss Alexander. He was a good man, a loving father, and faithful husband. He took "Till death do us part" literally and made sure there were no survivors. A truly loving father, who didn't want to be alone in the afterlife. I hope and pray that his next of kin, "Ben Dover" is well cared for, and spends his inheritance wisely. Rest in Peace Alexander Dover, you will be missed. lmfao
I once received an email about an inheritance, amounting to several millions USD, I was supposed to receive upon the demise of a long lost uncle. In my response I asked for more specifics about the deceased uncle because, as it happened, l was awaiting 3 inheritances and had opened 3 bank accounts where the funds would be deposited. Never hard from the scammers again. 😂
Mr Dover was such a great man, i can only offer my condolences at this hard time. Reminds me when my Nigerian Prince friend passed on, truly hurts to this day.
My Prince was killed in an accident while racing camels. It was a closed casket as the sand fleas did a number on his face before the 2 ox team ambulance arrived. His family was in Calcutta(Kolkata) on holiday, unable to be contacted.
I really appreciate how, despite this scam being one of the oldest out there, you were able to narrate the process at each step of the way to educate us how this scam plays out. Those well-versed in scams are already familiar with this one, but I believe this video is still important for others who are not so knowledgeable in these specific scams. Thank you for this!
Much earlier than that. It was common in snail mail, then it leapt to faxes, then to Email. It has literally been around for over 100 years yet people still fall for it. Good getting the word out and showing how this actually works.@@MrLTiger
I played the same scam on a scammer. The money they wanted from me was $200. I told them that I was lacking the funds and if the bank agent would cover the said amount I would gladly triple the amount upon receiving my “inheritance “. Same results, silence!
My condolences for your loss. I received a letter through the mail at one point with the same circumstances. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the inheritance. I'm guessing the delay has something to do with the fact that I never gave them any money 😅😂😂
RIP in peace Alex Dover and his family. You were taken from us too soon. Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.
Oh, I didnt't realise it was such a gruelling journey just to lay my hands on some inheritance. You have saved me a lot of time and efforts. I have received emails from two "lawyers" who told me that some random uncles in Africa had passed away with no next of kin, so they wanted me, who had the same surname (which is Chinese), to inherit the vast fortunes.
I am from Nigeria and it pains me to see my fellow country men attempt scams like this. I have watched exactly three videos from your channel and all the scammers were from my country. I am ashamed.

Nice! I tell these types of scammers that I have so much money already that this tiny amount they want to share with me isn't worth my time. Sadly I never hear back from them.
My favorite scene in Breaking Bad, when Saul Goodman the sleazy lawyer convinces a guy who owes $200,000 to the IRS to take "an inherentence from a long lost cousin" which is just his friends drug money being given to him... then goes out and immediately buys a Mercedes 🤣
Reminds me of a news article I saw in 2019: A very rich Nigerian Prince died and was buried buried with $14 billion USD. Apparently, nobody answered his Emails.
Not to sound like I'm trying to help scammers or anything, but you'd think with how many scammers have been baited, caught and exposed, other scammers would think twice before emailing Ben Dover. But, again, I'm glad they do. Keep up the good work Ben. P.S. Love the new studio.
I'd love if you could do a video on all these RUclips ads with AI voiceovers telling me I can get $6,400 from the US government. I saw one the other day with Steve Harvey in it.
I have learned so much watching your videos. I never fill out anything online anymore because every time I did, My number and email ended up with Indian scammers and they would call 15-20 times a day. Car warranty, Free Healthcare, I got tired of changing My number. Even tried to get a lawyer about the phone call harassment but, none would ever call Me back.

Does incogni work quickly or do they stretch it out so you have to keep paying subscription? Like, do they say ‘we have fixed 40 thing, but there’s another 50 things we might be able to fix next month’ and they just keep that going? Considering you promoted the Scottish title company that is a total waste of money, I’m wondering if Incogni is a slow money drain.

This kind of thing makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. I 100% detest these scammers. Why? Because I was once young and naive, and yes, fell for a catfish scam. HARD. Luckily, I didn't have the funds they requested ultimately, but, I did spend hundreds. I wish I could do more to protect other young and naive people from this happening to them. Thank you for what all you scam baiters do. I, for one, not only find it entertaining, but I deeply appreciate what you do. 👍🏼
It's okay to fall for a scam ONCE, immediately learn your lesson and NEVER fall for a scam again. It's only a problem when you KEEP falling for scams, especially the same scam. I remember a guy saying something like,"I got a message on my computer saying my computer was under attack and I needed to download a certain antivirus Software to save my computer. I was scared, so I downloaded the antivirus Software..... And my computer completely crashed. It turns out, my computer was NEVER under attack, and I just caused it to completely crash by downloading that no good antivirus Software. Today, I got a similar message on my phone, saying my phone is under attack and I need to download an antivirus Software." I panicked again and clicked on download to get the antivirus Software . I had installed a legitimate antivirus Software and my legitimate antivirus Software immediately blocked the scam antivirus Software, preventing my phone from completely crashing like what happened to my computer. I can't believe I fell for the same trick twice. Thank God my legitimate antivirus Software didn't let me download a scam Antivirus Software that would have crashed my phone."
Excellent! I just watched a story on another RUclips channel of a man who received a similar email, probably paid the transfer fee, and was shortly there after poisoned by his girlfriend, so that she would get all the money. Tragically, the man died, and the woman of course, is in prison for many years. And, of course, there was no money. I am trying to remember all the sites that you use to do this scam cracking. Great work, you’re performing a valuable service.
I got this same email years ago...i just had to pay some taxes on the funds b4 money can be released...lol people actually fall for this or they still wouldn't be doing it....smh. these scammers are making bank while we work hard for a dollar
Oh great! I've been waiting on a fortune of 2.1 million dollars from my dear departed uncle Bill in England as explained to me in a letter sent from his barrister in 2015. Do you mean to tell me that I'm not going to inherit a fortune that doesn't exist from a relative that I never had? Such a disappointment.
I've been waiting 8 years for further contact but it hasn't happened. The letter they sent me was an actual paper letter sent through the postal system. Maybe English barristers are a little behind the times. Dear departed uncle Bill should have invested in a computer.
They tried this scam on my sister and I had to convince her that it was a scam. I'm glad I came across your video cause now I will be sending this to her. Thank you!

I am so sad to hear of Uncle Dover's passing! You know I was his favorite niece, but I certainly would have shared the inheritance with you. I can't understand why I was not notified sooner.
Oh boy, what a wild ride that was! I half-expected the plot to take a twist and for us to ride off into the sunset in my new Lambo, funded by my long-lost Millionaire Uncle Do! Even if it didn't work out, I had too much fun. Thanks for the heads-up! You might catch me at Hannah Montana concert next, waiting for the "Nigerian Prince" who sent me front-row tickets. 😂
Hey, Ben. Could you make a video at some point about phone games that claim you can make a lot of money? I am curious and would like you to give us ideas on what happens when you play since I don’t want to risk something.
My experience is they just use the opportunity to get your email and sell your info, these games have tons of ads and you have to get a minimum of $20 to “cash out” so you may get a dollar or two before giving up on the whole thing.
Condolences, Uncle Dover will be missed.

Huh, old comments but new video. Weird
Thought I was the only one who noticed.
Oh yeah
He probably released the video and he privated it, but people still commented?
It's likely released early for channel members or Patreon subscribers so they get early access

12:33 he was so young.
this new studio is looking SO GOOD. another good vid - thank you ben!
I know these are fake but still entertaining 😅
What sort of a question is " I completely trust?" Trust what or who?
I'm sorry for you lost.... RIP Uncle Green, I hope you use your inheritance for good.
I got this same email years ago...i just had to pay some taxes on the funds b4 money can be released...lol people actually fall for this or they still wouldn't be doing it....smh. these scammers are making bank while we work hard for a dollar
OUUU YESS! Just made my Thursday evening,my fav youtuber!!🤭
You (and others like you) are doing gods work here. Bless you people
I've had a few unknown deceased relatives too. Sadly for me, I'm too lazy to respond to those e-mails. 😆 I could have been a gazillionaire by now. LOL
7:01 What you described is basically what happened in the Ed, Edd n Eddy episode "Who, What, Where, Ed"
Hero, you're a hero to make them lose their time, therefore protecting vulnerable being!
If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
You could have been adopted and that's an uncle you never knew you had until the email landed in... the Spam box.
Thank you!
Prayers up for Uncle Dover 🙏
man as a Fraud investigator I love your channel.. I love to quote you on occasion when I educate other on fraud or elderly exploitation/ scam.. thank you for your content brother.
I am so sad to hear of Uncle Dover's passing! You know I was his favorite niece, but I certainly would have shared the inheritance with you. I can't understand why I was not notified sooner.
I love the way you break it down.
Wish you would post more often 😉
Love the new office! Sorry about uncle Dover, he’s in a better place.
This is like the 3rd time my city has been mentioned in a video, and all 3 have been for bad reasons
Mr Ben Dover, im sorry for the tragic loss to your family. please accept my sincere condolences.
RIP dear Uncle Alex. You will be missed.
That was a very nice picture of your uncle. ❤
Whoa! That sounds dark but thanks for that
