    Please bring your moms onto the show to discuss their vaccination choices! I’m a mom of 3 and with my first I trusted the doctor fully and did vaccines on the recommended schedule. With my second I was a lot more hesitant and he didn’t receive a couple of them but I ultimately gave in and got him caught up with the others. Now with my third I want to do things differently but it would be so helpful to hear from your moms as to why and how they were confident in their research and decision.

      very much ok with being downvoted, but I will voice this... if you decide to not vaccinate your child against polio for example and then you have immigrants or your kid when grown up going to Asia or an endemic country... Do you risk him being paralyzed or whatever can happen? it was a case in us not long time ago. decide if all these diseases are eradicated and keep in mind these are infectious diseases, nothing to do with what you eat or drink (unless contamination and method of spread)

    • @buffalolifesavers
      @buffalolifesavers 4 месяца назад +4

      @@feelthroughmusic it is good to consider all sides of this issue. What the media doesn't tell you, is that over 90% of polio cases are either asymptomatic or have the symptoms of a cold. There is also evidence to suggest that much of the paralysis that occurred in the 50s & 60s was actually from DDT being sprayed on children rather than polio.

      i had the same experience with my 1st child. I didn’t experience a sickness with her until she was about 2. We moved to Texas and for some reason they got sick so much our first year here. I had a theory it was because we were in a lower income city so majority of the kids went to daycare school and probably didn’t have the best diets so we hung around them at libraries parks ect and caught a lot of stuff from them. So when my second got sick as an infant it was alarming to me since I had never dealt with it 😅 and I’m sure I annoyed our new pediatrician. anyway I’m still happy with our choice to non v

    I never comment but as an absolute fan of the Wingfeather Saga, I SO recommend YOU read it! I understand your hesitation about fantasy but I am blown away by the redemptive, self-sacrificial themes in the Wingfeather Saga. My personal opinion is that it's right up there with the Chronicles of Narnia. Just my 2 cents haha.
    Also, fun fact, I listened to a podcast once (pre 2020) that shared research showing people who don't vaccinate are not necessarily politically biased one way or the other but that they tend to be the extremes of either end of the political spectrum i.e. far eight, far left.

      Idk if I'd go so far as to rank Andrew Peterson up there with C.S. Lewis... But also, I haven't actually read the Wingfeather Saga. It's on my list though.
      My children actually point out all the time how Lewis incorporated pictures of Truth from Scripture in his writing, how evil is always conquered by Good, sin is forgiven but at great cost and sacrifice (Aslan taking Edmond's place on the Stone Table). I think when your kids are steeped in the Bible, they are naturally able to see the parallels and similarities and truth and goodness in great literature.

      @RCGWho I didn't finish Harry Potter myself because it bugged me too much that he got away with everything with 0 consequences (stopped at book 3, though I hear it improves after that). Definitely not the case with Wingfeather. Writing styles are also very different with Wingfeather being a bit hard to pin down at times. The prose is generally much nicer, but it has very tongue-in-cheek writing at times (like a place named "The Dark Sea of Darkness") contasting with some very heavy themes (child slavery, torture, etc). Don't get me wrong - I very much enjoyed it! However, it could be a hit or miss for you depending on your book standards.

    So right about the anti-kid vibe in Bend, OR. My husband is from Oregon and we have four little kids. Last time we were in Bend we felt the same weird hostility towards families.

    • @edenelston7668
      @edenelston7668 5 месяцев назад +1

      That's everywhere. Even in the church! Not all churches, but there's major hostility toward large families and children in general. Basically, because of decades of propaganda against large families, the perfect 2 kid households, and the American dream being hindered by the irresponsibility of having lots of children... All of it is hogwash, and there's a huge resurgence in large families, and many waking up to the joy and beauty of welcoming many children. Some will look on and applaud what we're building, others will scoff and ridicule- and that's just life. We just keep on raising our children in the Lord and let that speak to onlookers.

    Wingfeather is definitely more for middle childhood age, than for young children. My son started them at 9 , and he enjoys them, but I wouldn't start them earlier personally, even with advanced readers.
    The only issue I have is for kids reading pretty far above grade level, as many classically educated readers do, is that they are written at a middle-childhood level and the subject is middle childhood level. So my son finds the story interesting, but the writing a little boring.

    My sister didn’t vaccinate and her kids were so healthy. Then my nephews got vaccinated when they started attending schools in another state and one of my nephews developed epilepsy shortly after that.
    We didn’t vaccinate my first daughter but we did give her the vitamin K shot. We thought it was just vitamin k, silly us. Only later did we find out there was aluminum(toxic to brain and body) egg derivatives, and oils whose composition mimics that of nuts. My daughter ended up with life threatening allergies to eggs and nuts and she got eczema. There is no history of allergies on either my husband’s side or my side, so it is not genetic. We did not vaccinate my second daughter or give her the vitamin k shot and she was 2months ahead on every milestone, she is super strong and healthy, no allergies and no skin issues whatsoever. There was a guy who won the Nobel prize who showed that if you introduce food with something the body rejects like heavy metals, the body will reject that food too. So why doesn’t it happen to everyone. Lottery system. If it happened to everyone, we would immediately blame pharma but if only a certain amount of vaccines have food that will turn into allergies then we cannot pin it on them, but they will make tons of money on the percentage of the population that is unlucky enough to receive one of those vaccines. $500 a year for epipens that you have to replace annually. If you need them more often than that then you will pay more. And at least for us insurance does not cover it. Pharma wants us sick and stupid and they want our money. I would not trust anything from Pharma. They pay millions of dollars in fines for illegal activity every year. Public information but no one talks about it. Pharma was also given immunity by the government decades ago. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I appreciated your answer, and found your thoughts about perhaps temporarily moving to a coast when your children are high school/college age and where there is more influence interesting. I grew up on the East Coast - in Massachusetts. My husband and I moved to Northern Michigan 9 years ago and absolutely love it here. However, with the changes in housing costs, as well as the city we live near becoming more and more liberal, we've considered moving. He works from home, which makes the options almost endless, but difficult when trying to make a decision. :) I can't see us moving south, because I love living up north, and love pine tree forests. :) Idaho seemed appealing because of those things.
