    Notion has been such a game changer for me, in so many areas of my life. Language study, video planning, art project organization, even just for journalling and helping me get this chaotic mess of a mind into one space where I can organize it later. I use it for literally all aspects of my life. I'm always curious to see how others use Notion. Figuring out what works for you and getting inspiration from others. I love Notion and can't recommend it enough! ❤

    This video has helped me so much in organizing my language studies! When I was using Notion daily this was the notebook I went to. I switched to an open-source alternative so I had to re-watch and re-setup my notebooks with some adjustments for how the new program works but I wouldn't even know where to begin without this video. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Been learning Mandarin for +2 years after six months study many years ago (wanted to resurrect the language). I have to say the combo Italki tutor + Notion to stick to complementary rss and self study made my level skyrocket the first three months. Now reaching intermediate plateau, I am sure sticking to a Notion calendar again would help me slowly break through to a higher fluency. Nice content, thanks for sharing the details.

    Hello !
    En tout cas je te souhaite d'atteindre tes objectifs, tu m'as vraiment motivé à me donner à fond durant les prochaines semaines pour atteindre mes objectifs !!

    In most cases, the reason for unsatisfactory results of learning a foreign language is a loss of interest in the student, or you have stopped at some stage of their training and began to "stomp in one place. Thus, the effort and time you have spent in the absence of new techniques will not allow progress in mastering the language. For example, if you spend your time and effort learning the alphabet for months on end, you will not learn to read, write, speak and understand the spoken and written language. Yuriy Ivantsiv in his book "Polyglot Notes. Practical Tips for Learning Foreign Language" writes that you should not selectively stop at one thing, and try to gradually move forward, without skipping anything and not jumping, developing all the necessary language skills for you proportionally. Only then will you get effective results. In your strategy for learning any information for you, including a foreign language, you should adhere to the following principle: you made a breakthrough - mastered the new information, then you need to take the time to consolidate the material and bring it to automaticity. The next step - learn new material and master it, and so on. "There are no secrets to success. It's the result of good preparation, hard work, and learning from your mistakes." Colin Powell. Many thanks to the author of the channel for the tremendous work in creating the instructional video. Thanks to such helpful videos, we have rapid progress in language learning.

    Hi Elysse, Would you use it for one language? I've never used Notion before. Does it refresh every week or you have to uncheck everything yourself? I like your channel and your humour.

    • @elyssedavega
      @elyssedavega  2 года назад +1

      It doesn’t refresh, every week i go through and clear it out and add stuff for the next week :) you can totally apply Notion to just one language!

    J'ai juste quelque chose à préciser : dans ta section "opération parler" en français pour le but, on a plus tendance à dire :" réapprendre à bien m'exprimer en français à l'oral et à l'écrit "

    Why should you use Notion when you can do it in the Notes app? I personally write my goals and other details in Notes app.

    • @elyssedavega
      @elyssedavega  2 года назад +2

      The notes app is so reduced. You can’t make folders, no differences in text size except for title and text, I could go on. There are so much more options and tools to use in Notion that make things easier. I was such an unorganized mess when I just used the Notes app, yuck, never going back to that

      In notion you can have databases that are related which is awesome for statistics or even just for to do lists etc. i use it a lot for my whole life. For languages i have different databases that are related like tasks, ressourced, activities, vocabulary etc. so in a task i did you can see the resources i used for this and what activity it is realted to. For example when i have an activity called „chapter one of book xy“ the task would be „worked in book for 30 min“ they are related and they are both related to the resource of the book. And the vocab is related to the source (activity) it came from.
      In the notes app you would have to change things in every view and its not automatically synced

    Hi,
    Love the content of your videos but I have a quick question if you don’t mind?
    I have been learning Spanish for two weeks and am really enjoying it. What’s the best thing for me to concentrate on to maximise my learning?
    I’m using some online tutorials, The Language Tutor on RUclips is a free resource and brilliantly laid out with a podcast to back up the lesson, I’m also listening to Spanish songs and writing in Spanish.
    I’m not speaking Spanish yet, do you think this is a good approach?
    Thank you

      I enjoy Spanish with Pablo on RUclips. Getting a variety of books (I started with early elementary school level) is easy in Spanish, especially the library.

      It's a good approach as long as you're meeting your own goals, for example, the Refold folks suggest that it's not that important to produce output at the first stages of learning a language, but that's totally up to you.
      ¡Saludos desde Venezuela!

      Italian doesn't have dialects (it does have regional accents and pronounciations though). What is referred to as "dialetti regionali" are actually separate, non-mutually intelligible languages.
