      If you need to wear it you'll have bigger problems than being hot hot hot

    Could you do a vid ABOUT having concealable soft body armor then comboing with a plate carrier on top of that ,,, cause I've never seen that before and I'm thinking about trying that ,just want to hear your thoughts on it ,,,
    my idea is to carry the concealable soft body armor 24/7 with just the necessities (ifak,extra mag ,knife) and keeping the plate carrier(with full "battle rattle") in my car
    Ps won't be offended if you don't do a video or anything like that just an idea for future conversations for grins and giggles

      I can probably do that.

      I did a decent amount of rucking with a layered approach like this back in Wyoming and I liked it. I wore concealable armor under my uniform top, a plate carrier overtly and then at the time I was still running a chest rig over the plate carrier instead of a placard. It did have some amount of movement but the soft armor actually kept it from ever chafing me and it was where it needed to be when I needed it. When traveling in a vehicle I would doff the chest rig along with my pack and still retain my armor for the drive. It worked for me but I never had to fight with it so my experience is limited.

    do you like soft-behind-hard armor? what benefits other than comfort? what "level" would that put it at? 11?

    • @EODFish

      So most of the original hard armor was “ICW” or in-conjunction with and required the soft to reach the rated levels. ESAPIs are still ICW. Additionally, the added footprint provides expanded frag protection vs just the vitals for small arms fire. There is a time and a place for everything though.

      First Spear Sleeper and Crye LV-RBAV

    Im looking for a soft armor carrier that also takes plates. I am looking at crye MBAV, velocity LPAC, and this first spear sleeper BALCS.
    I cannot find any reviews on the sleeper vs the crye LV mbav. Its like half the price, which would you recommend? Thanks

    • @EODFish
      @EODFish  2 года назад +1

      They aren’t interchangeable. In my opinion, the MBAV cut really only adds some comfort behind dual radios, that added soft armor coverage is almost negligible.

      @@EODFish got it, thank you. What about balcs vs velocity?

    • @EODFish
      @EODFish  2 года назад +1

      Balcs is a more standard cut so you have freedom to move between carriers. I have no experience with the velocity concealment cut but it probably fits better than BALCS and velocity makes equally good carriers.
      All that said, I love my sleeper.
