Great tent! Kept me bone dry after a full rainstorm. It packs away nicely but if you are planning on trekking with it, it is quite heavy (5 kilograms) so you may have to sacrifice other comforts, that being said, it is excellent for overlanding! Would definitely recommend the tent overall
I just came back from a three week camping trip on Corsica. I used my HILLEBERG Soulo and on the east coast i saw someone use two of those tents near me ( two children and parents). On this place we had a Storm rolling in with 75km(46mph) winds and the Quechua tents had no problems after that. I did speak with the Owner with my poor French knowledge.. He told me that he was really scared inside the tent and not sure it would handle any more winds, but in the end they did fine. I think the price-performance ratio is great and they did look "cool" ;) From what i saw i think they are most likely good 3-season tents. Cheers from Switzerland
Wow! That is some strong wind! We love the Hille tents over here too. Legit for winter use. I am impressed with the Decathlon handeling those forces. Thanks for sharing that!
Nice! Stay tuned.... we have the new version and will have the review up in about a month. Regardless, this is still a great tent and a good value! Hope you enjoy as well :)
This was a great demo video. I needed a quick set-up and take down tent for kayak fishing tournament camping. I think breaking camp at 4 AM will be possible with this tent- no tent poles and shock cords to deal with threading through loops! Plus I can go to bed when it is light out and fool myself into thinking it is night. Now, if only it was SOUND PROOF as well! LOL! I should be getting my tent in 5 days time! from order to receipt- which is great considering it is shipping out of CA.
Thank you! I really appreciate the good feedback. Soundproof would be nice too! LOL. It is a super simple to use tent. I hope it allows you to have many great kayak and camping adventures. Take care!
You mention there was rain during the night, how did it perform? Any water at the seams or bottom? I usually get water where the top ends so I'm wondering if it happens with this one and if the sides are high enough with atronfwr waterproof material? Thanks for the video 😊
Hey Gail! Thank you for checking this out and for the question. It did a good job in the rain. I did not notice any water from the seams, bottom or anywhere else. Stay tuned as we have the new version in house and will be putting that video up in the next few weeks! - Sean
That would be a cool shot. I have done that for a few other tents and it almost always looks cool. I will keep that in mind for the next review. Thanks!
Hows the ventilation on the corner sides (bottom area)? It doesn't seem like its very breathable inside. I have mine on pre-order but still debating if I want to keep it. Would have been nice somehow if the rain fly was removable. Its 99 B pounds on decathlon UK but 200 US dollars in decathlon US. That sucks.
Hey Jp, That is good feedback on the price difference. I did not try to remove the rain fly either. The way the poles are built into the tent, lead me to believe that I did not want to mess that system up! LOL. We had a good amount of wind when testing, so it did a good job dumping condensation and air on the vents. The material of the inner tent does feel thicker than the backpacking tents we are used to testing. FWIW. I hope it does treat you well. If not, let us know what you think could be better. Take care!
@@MrLaurent124 I think you are spot on with this. Decathlon reached out to us last summer to review some other gear (Itiwit inflatable kayak - we love it!) that we have enjoyed testing. I believe they are making a good effort to reach markets outside of France.
@@Engearment I used to live in the US for several years and was always surprised there was no decatlhon-like store. It is good as they can really reduce the cost. Sometimes they have good new ideas too. You have to be careful though, they are really not that good for high end gear. Also, they are trying to "kill" all the other brands with their own brands. Their own brands are nice but you never know the quality of what you are buying. Sometimes it is good, sometimes not. So for everyday gear, it is perfect. For new cool stuff too, like the tent or inflatable paddle, kayak, ... But for good gear, i would say to be really careful
Oh how much more compact they are when stored vs a pop-up tent! I just ordered this tent just as its so compact, just hope it's more waterproof than the pop-up tent that lasted just 1 night and leaked and it was more expensive than this 2 second tent!
@@AlottaDixonCider LOL. I know, don't spill the beans on a great camp spot. But honestly, I have met so many great people top here. Heck, I have met 8 of our Engearment writers up here - camping, hiking, backcountry skiing and splitboarding. Perhaps we will link up here? :)
Question, what model is this one? There are a few similiar but different versions of this. One I see is a different pop up as it doesn't have the pull cords. Thx.
Thanks for the nice note. I always peg out at least a few parts of any tent. The wind picks up very quickly here in Colorado and I have had tents blow off the mountain if not properly staked out. Just my best practices for tent assembly.
hi, I was wondering if you could help one of my poles in my tent has detached from the main strand, and I cannot get it back in place. is there want way I can get it back?
Hopefully you managed to fix it. :) If anyone has the same problem you could either get it back to the nearest Decathlon and ask a professional to fix it or you could try to do it by yourself. It is really not that hard as long as nothing is broken (fiberglass nor plastic) but you have to be really calm and patient while doing this because otherwise you could break the plastic parts of the poles. This sometimes take up to 20 minutes before you get it right. :/ The easiest way is to detach entire side of a tent where your pole got away and gently put every pole back in its place. After that just connect fabric and the poles again. You will naturally understand what I am talking about here...:') PS: Most of the time this happens because of a bad body posture while opening the tent. You should get the right angle while pulling the cord.
i doubt this will save time as opposed to a regular tent, because while setting it up is obviously a few minutes faster, drying it out in the morning will be longer than one where you can separate the layers.
@@Engearment opinion. i'm planning on buying the thing. currently i only have a terra nova laser competition one, very easy to dry, before i had boring average vaude and department store tents, all easy to take apart into separate pieces, but honestly don't remember whether packing up in the morning was long with them or not. do you think i'm wrong about this?
@@markifi I think you are better off with a different tent. Honestly. Sounds like a double wall backpacking tent would be better for you. This tent is simple and not really made to be broken down in the way you are looking to do.

is this a 2 layer tent? and there is a distance between the layers?
how big is it in the bag when packed? want to see if I can fit it in my motorbike‘s paniers..
It is pretty big. I don't think it would work well on a motorbike panier. Sorry!
Got mine today

Pretty simple. Push the buttons. Fold the tent into itself.

Great !

How was the condensation inside the tent in the morning when you woke ?
I kept it well ventilated, so not much condensation at all.
What if someone close it from outside when we are inside

I would say it is strong enough for most peoples camping situations. I certainly would not use it in snow or high winds.
