And I got to sing with him in 1957 at Madison square garden and I'll never forget that night as a 17 year old young man he and Billy and Cliff barrows are three of the greatest men next to my father and grandfather that I've ever known in my life and thank goodness we all have the same connection did Jesus Christ our Lord and

I had the awesome privelge of singing back up for Mr. Shea in 1992 as a member of the Continental Orchestra and Singers. It was in Estes Park at the Christian Artist Seminars and he was receiving a Lifetime Acheivement Award and he sang "I'd Rather Have Jesus." My single most singing career highlight!!!
He knew the way and that kept him alive 104 years

True story: In early May, 1967, I was sitting in 10th grade English class. The teacher asked if we knew what had happened the day before. 3 or 4 of my classmates said in enthusiastic unison. “Elvis Presley got married.” I said, “Who is Elvis Presley?” and the class laughed scornfully at me. I retorted, “OK, who is George Beverly Shea?” Nobody knew. I informed them that he could sing Elvis under the table, and I was right!!

I'm not surprised Bev Shea made 103! A man like that raised on the
good things of the Lord, never any bad habits with an entire life spent
serving Jesus by making anointed music- If he lives to 120 it still
will be short for a man who has blessed the world like this!
I've been listening to GBS sing for over 50 years. Blessing still streams from what he sings. We need to thank God for George's unstinting ministry...

The single greatest singing voice on this side of heaven...the angels had a celebration beyond words yesterday when they escorted "Uncle Bev" into the presence of the Lord!

Brings back memories of the wonderful time of the Billy Graham Crusades in the 1950s.
God has been so good to him, he is a man that has done right in the eyes of the Lord, and God is giving him a good long life. One day he will hear the Lord say, "Well done good and faithful servant, you may enter into the joy of your Lord." Even at 103 he still has a good voice and a good sense of humor.

You know friend, he will live on in all of us that love God. I so feel for those that miss life by hardened feelings of hurt. If people could just "connect to God" like George did, all the problems of life seem small after a while. Sing out with your friends in worship and adoration and watch God work. You are right on!

I can't wait to get to heaven so I can hug this man and tell him "thank you, sir, for keeping me company when I couldn't sleep, and just all around for being a blessing in my life since I was a very little girl".
