What magnificent music, soul stirring.
It wasn't just his singing, it was his passion for the lyrics he sang and conveyed the meaning with such love for God. Being a vocalist...you have to read the lyrics as a story...and see the story as you sing. George Beverly Shae sang "How Great Thou Art" with the same passion...he saw the story in his mind and eyes. He saw God as his be all and end all...he is with God now. I had the pleasure of seeing him in a Billy Graham Crusade when I was was a very young lad in Sydney a long time ago.
He's in heaven now. What a good heart he had. God bless him.
What a beautiful life lived for Jesus. I can't wait to meet him in Heaven and sing to God with him. \o/

I grew up with Billy Graham Crusades and George Beverly Shea! Had the pleasure of singing in the choir in a Minneapolis Crusade in 1961 when I was 16! Never tired of listening to him singing and my heart always responded in praise to our God Who he shared with us in song! I still have his records!! yes, records! what fond memories!

As a young child our family played his Christian music very often, I always loved to listen to him and still do, his music is so beautiful reaches my heart.

twas saved in my living room in 1977 as I watched billy graham service.... twas living with my boyfriend and after I prayed, I KNEW I couldn't go to bed with Charlie that night, that it was wrong! I slept in the walk in closet! I left him, and Charlie got saved within several months and we then got married in june 1979! Now it is 2014 and we are still married, have 3 grown sons! And I am being delivered from ever so much evil! God has brought me this far and is delivering me from so much ugh, that I never knew was there. THank you for sharing , one of my most favorite songs and men of GOD! SHALOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May God raise up another Bev Shea in our day. He showed the world true devotion in serving the Lord Jesus Christ. I am so thankful to also having that privilege as a pastor. I remember going to New York City as a child and hearing him sing at a Billy graham Crusade. What a joy it is to live for Jesus. As Christians we have a win win situation both here and in eternity. God bless all that will still come to salvation.

Last I heard, GBS was the the upper 90s! When I heard he passed, 104! Wow, he lived a long life and finally he's home! We who are in Christ will see him again soon! It's not a good bye, just a see you later!
