COLOSSIANS 2:1-10 (Time To Get Serious About Our Faith) || Ian FOX

Paul wants the churches of Colossae and Laodicea to be rich. Not in financial wealth, but the wealth and riches that are found in knowing Christ Jesus.
There were many secret cults of the Greco-Roman world, known as mystery religions, but Paul introduces God’s mystery Christ, “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
The hunger that had been abused by the mystery religions could be satisfied in Christ.
So Paul bids people to, “walk in Him.”
The empty philosophies of the world had held the hearts and minds of the common man hostage for too long, Paul does not want the believers at Colossae and Laodicea to be held captive by them.
Instead he urges the saints to be rooted in Christ, to be built up in Christ, to be established in Christ. Because in Him alone does the fullness of the Godhead dwell in bodily form.
This is no vague mystery religion; God walked among men physically in Christ and He can be seated in the life of anyone who turns to Him, then you will know true completeness.
In short, “It Is Time To Get Serious About Our Faith”
