COLOSSIANS

The mighty power of Jesus, demonstrated through His death, burial and resurrection, has broken the power of sin and the law, and opened the door for salvation to all men that they may be free.
However, Satan has raised up false teachers who will rob people of that freedom, by placing on them under the obligations of the law and putting them into a place of bondage.
This is dead religion, which will kill the spiritual life in a believer.
Paul seeks to address the matter by instructing the Colossians by showing them that the things contained in the Mosaic Law are not a door to relationship with God, but a shadow of the true door to relationship with God, which is Christ.
Circumcision…is picture of the work God does in the heart, when a person believers on the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Sabbath…is picture of the rest God gives a person when they believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
The festivals…are picture of the greater sacrifice that is the Lord Jesus Christ.
The laws that were fulfilled in Christ, are no-longer obligatory for a believer and if applied become a self-made religion and as Paul says, “are of no value.”
The truth of Scripture is simple, “We Are Set Free In Jesus”
