DIY Drill Charging Station and Sandpaper Organizer

This drill charging station with sandpaper storage is an easy project that brings some much needed organization to your shop. This project can easily be completed in one day and includes an integrated french cleat system thats simple and strong. I used pocket holes for this project but dados could be used instead with some slight adjustments to the cut list measurements.

@@PenaltyBoxWoodshop The build went well. Made a second one for my father in law and he loves it. His smaller DeWalt drills were almost too narrow for the openings, but hanging them upside down solved that issue. Drilling the openings 1/2in smaller would have worked had I known his drills were narrower, but it worked out regardless.

That is simple and effective design and I'm surprised you did such a fantastic job explaining step by step guide. Most videos show you how they make something and not show or teach viewers how to make it. Unlike other videos you get stuck into showing us how to make it and give good hints and keep it all simple and straight forward without wasting time talking for ages. You really and truly did a remarkable job making this video and certainly a have good teaching skills. Good man I will definitely subscribe to your channel. Thank you very much and I hope you can do something on setting up and using the pocket hole jig. I bought a cheap one to learn but don't understand how to use it
I have never seen anyone integrate the French cleat into the back piece like this. I’ve always seen it just be a separate piece attached. Very cool idea!

Nice build. Was just telling my wife that I need to make a cabinet/shelf that will allow me to organize my sandpaper and other items I need at the area I do all my sanding and routing. This is definitely a good example of what I'm looking for. Thank you for sharing the idea!

The back wall integrated cleat was pretty cool! I'm used to seeing cleats as separate from the shelving unit walls

Bought the plans a few days ago and started building today. Noticed right away what I believe are five typos on Page 2 which should be corrected for future woodworkers (one was called out four months ago by Singing Trucker). First, the dimension of Part 2 is incorrect in the table (should be 24 x 10). Second, also in the table, Part 4 should be 5 and vice versa. And in the 3D diagram, Part 4 should be 5 and vice versa. Making these changes will match the dimensions on Pages 3 & 4. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Penalty Box Woodshop Good Morning. I have a question on your plans you have one side 28X10 and one 28 1/2 x 10. I believe it’s the left side and right side is that correct?

How do you like your Bosch Cordless tools? I have the 12v drill and driver. They are awesome. I need to get some larger ones though.
I really like the tools a lot. I have several other Bosch tools that Im happy with as well like the my sander and my router. Hard to go wrong with that brand really. that link in my bio is for amazon and they have great reviews on there are well.
