Everyone always talks about the intro, but the outro is pretty nostalgic for me also.
Even today, the outro music is one of the most iconic pieces ever.
I kinda hate to say it, but as a kid i didn't mind if the episode was over, becaus we would get this to finish it all up.
By the way, i noticed the name 'Chuck Lorre' in the credits. Gives a whole new feeling to the BBT guys singing 'Turtle Power'. ;)

I agree! I loved this theme and still do but the only thing I didn't like about the ending credits was the logo, the fhe logo and the white screen after. Those things gave me nightmares especially the w logo. So I couldn't really enjoy the music for fear of the logos coming up particularly the w logo cause I would run out of the living room of my house and up the stairs of my Grandparents basement when I would watch it there. I can't even count the nightmares the w logo gave me. And I would be afraid to go to the bathroom at night for fear of the logo being on TV in the dark. It doesn't freak me out as much so I'm more relaxed. I'm still creeped out by it but not as much. The white screen really freaks me out to this day.

The best, except the logos at the end creeped me out when I was younger, especially the group w productions. The group w logo scared me so much that it gave me nightmares when I was younger

@@JanetStarChild I was born in 1990 and was super obsessed with the likes of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Digimon, and video games like the SNES and PS1. If I did see it via reruns, I was far too young to remember nowadays. 👀
I think the first time I even heard of it or seen TMNT was a live-action crossover they had with "Power Rangers in Space". As for seeing actual cartoons of them, it wasn't until the 2003 series.
But something about this 1987 series' style of animation and this old, low CRTV quality resolution makes me extremely nostalgic. Reminds me a lot of other toons with similar quality I always watched as a kid. *If* I was aware of this back then, I no doubt would have ate it up too. 🥴

I hear ya. Fortunately, we can now enjoy the whole series on the Webz; if you know where to look.
It's even better watching it as an adult now because there's a bunch of jokes I didn't get as a kid at the time. Also, a bunch of pop-culture references I learned later in life.
P.S.; You're fortunate to have at least watched the 2003 series. It also holds up really well, and is one of the last of the real 'Mirage Studios' TMNT before Nickelodeon would completely bastardize the IP.
Group W Productions (the Westinghouse Broadcasting production arm) later became EyeMark Entertainment (now CBS Studios International).

When I hear this song, wonderful memories come flooding back to me.
Part of the reason why we love these cartoons is the fact that they were hand-drawn, and the nostalgia of it is so appealing.
You make a new film, it will never be worth half as much, because you're just cheapening a memory.
Fawlty Towers is a classic British comedy, but only 12 episodes were made, meaning the story was never diluted.
I think TMNT should be put in the vault, and never touched again in terms of re-makes or re-creations.
Classics deserve a dignified burial.

And what makes it better for it's time is how the way they animate it as they didn't use limited animation like the other animations at that year it's created.
TMNT 1987 is the best TMNT show. I’ve only watched Volume 5 and 6 of Season 3 on DVD and Seasons 1 and 2 on Paramount+. I really hope Viacom works out their licensing issues so they can bring the rest of the 8 seasons to Paramount+.

actually CBS didn't pick it up until 1990 (i think). the first and second seasons were syndicated

I've been watching cartoons for more than 40 years, and I try to like cartoons of ALL of the time periods I've been alive, not just the 80's. Trust me when I say that this cartoon is not as half as good as the 2003 show on Fox Kids, and also that there are great shows on the air NOW that you should be watching as well as this one.
