    Congratulations Emma!
I am 30 and am back at uni studying my second degree.
I've been an artist, worked as a executive assistant, a project officer and even momentarily dabbled in child care.
It's important for women in particular to break those societal norms - not just having more women in STEM roles, but to show others it's okay to not follow the invisible rules and guidelines set out for us by society.
    All the best!

Wow that's so impressive! Thanks for sharing your experiences. It definitely gives me confidence when other people tell me they've jumped around a lot too😄

Neat ! Peter Roget, of Thesaurus fame invented the Log-Log scale on slide rules for determining routs and powers. At first glance an 'Humanities' to 'STEM' crossover; but on digging deeper, he started off as a physician !

Squiggly career means uncertainty and Coleridge says imagination is precisely uncertain, the mind wavering between two objects. When it fixes on one, then it becomes understanding. Someone oscillating between tech and Eng Lit does call the imagination into play. Did you ever watch The Ascent of Man series written and presented by Brunowski, a scientist who wrote a monograph about Blake. He presents the idea that scientific leaps forward are underpinned by imaginative thought. So, in this sense your originary degree is not that different from tech entrepreneurs inventing new devices. By which I mean the writers worth studying are those that make it new and have something original to say.

Sounds really exciting!! I’m getting to that stage at uni where careers are mentioned every other second so it’s great hearing from a graduate sharing their journey. Also love the squiggly career thing, I imagine I might have one of those 😅

Must confess I didn’t see this coming but all the very best in the tech world and your new career direction. Definitely interested to hear how it goes. Ultimately I’m sure you’ll be successful in whatever you decide to do.

This has been the general reaction from most people around me and then when I explain the role itself and the skills needed and how I got to the decision it usually makes a bit more sense haha... Hopefully I can document my transition and it might explain things a little better😅😅

Hi girl! I am very very happy for you and for your new career path. I am a data analyst, I studied Computer Science and I have a master's degree in Data Science. It's a tough sector: it's constantly evolving, with so much to learn every day and where there's so much to see. Thanks to my job, however, I travel a lot, I see different realities, I learn the processes! I've seen how banks and telco companies work, the luxury industry, retail companies... it will all be extremely educational! But be prepared for very hard moments too, where you will wonder if the choice you have decided to make is correct, you will have moments of discouragement where you will see many people doing things in 1 hour while it will take you 10. But it will pay off.
I'm very happy for you! I'm sure you will do an amazing job! xoxo

At the first glance I would call it a surprising U-turn. But not fully surprised although I have only a vague idea, what the new job field looks like. Whatever you do, do it with the same passion and consistency as you do your vlogging.
Wish you all the best on your new path and a lot of fullfilling moments in and out your career.

Yes, it does seem unexpected! But the role itself combines all of my interests (customer-focused, commercially driven, innovative, fast-paced, future-thinking, agile, etc) and plays into the things I think I'm good at (like staying organised, managing stakeholders, problem solving, communicating well, etc). Hopefully it'll be a good fit!🤓

I feel the same passion for STEM, although my background is in communication and marketing. I am just amazed at the confidence you have. It is so inspiring. Normally I would have doubts about someone being competent in product management without being a tech person. But knowing the hard work you can do (from your previous university videos), I am sure you will do a great job. I think it is wonderful for tech people to have humanities graduates with them.

Aww thank you! If that's what you're passionate about, go for it and believe in yourself more🤗 Honestly, so many hiring managers said to me they like a mix of stem and humanities graduates in their team because they bring different skills and experiences to the table and bring out the best in each other

Hello! I would like to see more videos about you switching the career path! I'm from Russia and there is quite hard for me to find a job where you can choose to switch the career parth. I've graduated from pr relations (there is no opportunity here to change path during uni degree :((()and work as IT consult in frontend sphere but it is still quite hard to find a full-time job as a frontend developer. So i chose the oposite - the second degree in CS.
So it would be really interesting and motivational for me how you become a specialist in tech sphere even without a degree*-*

I'd really love to do more content on my career journey and switching over! I didn't realise how often people switch careers and that it was even possible so would've enjoyed content like that myself when I first started this journey. Plus I like to keep it real on here and show everyone it's okay to change your mind and not know what you want to do (it's so common but people rarely talk about it!!)😊😊
