Nice tutorials mate. Coming from Hammer 1, this new software is so much better! I'm wondering what the 'best practice' is in terms of brush work - Is more square-shaped brushes better than fewer complex brushes? Now that it's so easy to extrude faces and create complex brushes, I'm naturally inclined to block my floorplan out with one brush, rather than lots of blocks as I used to in Hammer 1. Do you know if this method is good or bad in terms of performance?
I having so much problem with copy other object texture as my current brush. In old hammer was this feature. Anyone know how to do it on source 2 hammer?
Hey, has anyone esle problems with building the map? Like i literally only have one terrorist and the spawnpoint on the map and it fails to build. I have a very decent pc and a great connection....

Could you do a turtial on using external objects not made in hammer 2 has a map surface? I love using tenchbroom for how quick it is to make geometry.
Youd have to import it as a model and use it as a prop in the level

I’m in the same boat, moving from source 1 I’m not sure what the appropriate workflow for source 2 is yet, once I find out I’ll make a video about it.
@@CSJxlp Please don't work with brushes lol, Source 2 is mesh based. Start with planes and extrude with edges rather than 4 sided blocks
How do you play your map Fullscreen? Mine is windowed and doesn't let me turn it into Fullscreen
If you cant change it in settings, try adding “-fullscreen” to your cs2 launch options
But for testing purposes, playing windowed is just fine

I think it’s something like shift + right click
i cant make precise blocks, they can be rly big or rly small but i cant make it precise

This’s might be because the compiler is failing to move the finished map file over the the games map file, I’m about to make a video on this.
