  • @InsiderTimes-d6q
    @InsiderTimes-d6q 21 день назад +4

    People against this have never worked in this job, or they would change their mind. With me, it wasn’t about the pay, it was the 3rd party contractors who rushed drivers because Amazon gave drivers overloaded routes. That was my main issue. I can work the job, but these 3rd party contractors and Amazon want drivers to run through stop signs and jog to deliver packages.

    • @InsiderTimes-d6q
      @InsiderTimes-d6q 21 день назад +1

      And there’s a financial incentive, because if a driver finishes his route early, the 3rd party won’t have to pay him his full shift. That’s one of the reasons they rush drivers.

      Yeah ok...Amazon, who would be liable for any accidents, injuries or death caused by a driver actually "wants" drivers to pass stop signs? Maybe you just weren't fast enough or efficient enough. It seems you wanted to take a leisurely stroll from truck to house. The guy I know who drives for them says it's fast paced but it's a decent job for him since he doesn't have other skills or learned a trade. Like any job, he says you have crazy days, bad days and good days. The pay is decent, he has benefits and realizes it's not a job intended to make you rich. He just got a brand new truck issued to him and says he'd change a few things but has no major complaints enough to quit over. He said the guys whining for a union are just lazy.

      @susana5505 And where do they get the money to learn a trade or get an education? Or the time to do that if they have to work 2 or more jobs to survive and have kids? Do you actually think these people don't want a better job or don't know that learning a trade or getting an education will get them a better job?
