People against this have never worked in this job, or they would change their mind. With me, it wasn’t about the pay, it was the 3rd party contractors who rushed drivers because Amazon gave drivers overloaded routes. That was my main issue. I can work the job, but these 3rd party contractors and Amazon want drivers to run through stop signs and jog to deliver packages.
And there’s a financial incentive, because if a driver finishes his route early, the 3rd party won’t have to pay him his full shift. That’s one of the reasons they rush drivers.
Yeah ok...Amazon, who would be liable for any accidents, injuries or death caused by a driver actually "wants" drivers to pass stop signs? Maybe you just weren't fast enough or efficient enough. It seems you wanted to take a leisurely stroll from truck to house. The guy I know who drives for them says it's fast paced but it's a decent job for him since he doesn't have other skills or learned a trade. Like any job, he says you have crazy days, bad days and good days. The pay is decent, he has benefits and realizes it's not a job intended to make you rich. He just got a brand new truck issued to him and says he'd change a few things but has no major complaints enough to quit over. He said the guys whining for a union are just lazy.

I was an ups unloader for 2 years and an Amazon driver for 2 let me just say the ups job was waaaayy harder then Amazon….yes they have a union but they also start you off at like $10 an hour so my checks would be like 400 every week maybe but after I got unionized my check was cut in half…..these drivers wanna be a union but don’t realize that $20 an hour will be cut short and they’ll make even less money lmaoo but hey no college and work experience but let them make $30 an hour lmaooo

I bought a great coffee machine, know I have 3 cappuccino a day, and it's 10 bucks a week, at most. Get an education, find a trade, and do something that really expands your knowledge & experience.

It takes yrs & many educated and highly experienced people, a huge amount of capital to build multi million $ company. Compared to entry level jobs, that are trained in abt a week (and they pay you to train you on how to so this job). To make a difference, find something you are good at and enjoy doing, and find a way to build a business from it. Then you will understand why these ppl make the big bucks.
