After watching the craziness of all those Food Network and Bon Apetit videos, it's nice to watch something that's more about the good food rather than the larger-than-life personalities of the hosts. This is the kind of relaxing food video I want!
I could listen to her read the phone book and still be entertained...love her voice
The music accompanying your presentation is not annoying, as I usually find them to be. It's very nice. The salad looks good, too, and you're not boring.
Almost sounds like a compliment.
Finding that these videos make me feel relaxed. Thanks
Thanks, Andy-so glad to hear that. -KM
Watching you is like going to yoga...very therapeutic. Don't change. And this salad is the bomb, I've made it and it is always a hit.
Thanks so much, Lisa-really glad you're enjoying the videos, and that you're a fellow fan of Nancy's Chopped! - KM
The oregano, vinegar, and salami bite is making my mouth water...
Let us know if you try this recipe, Benjamin!
I worked with Nancy at Mozza and this is literally one of the best salads I've ever had in my life!! The dressing, the way ingredients are chopped , everything comes together in an extraordinary way! Everyone must try it. And i want to say Nancy is obsessed with texture and has an incredible palate so it is no exaggeration that she will work on something for years and years.
Looks very yummy.....will definitely try.
I have been making a delish salad for years...cubed chicken, tomato, avocado and water chestnuts in a basic vinaigrette, served on a bed of watercress and topped with crumbled bacon.....yum.
So healthy, at times it’s all I eat over weeks, different vegetables and also fruits, with chicken and fish as protein. Feel great.....skin clears up, energy levels goes true the roof.
Im trying this now ... I fell much better
Yes this is genius. You communicated it well.
Favorite recipe presenter.
So glad you're enjoying "Genius Recipes!"
Looks good
Looks fabulous! I can't wait to try it! Thanks so much
Great salad , thanks for the info. I always look forward to seeing your food prep, always terrific ideas!
Thank you, Asa! So glad to hear it. -KM
*An awesome Summer meal*
Thanks, Natalie! I totally agree-and fall, and winter, and... - KM
That mixing bowl--I see that style of bowl everywhere in food styling. Is it a specific style or era? I know it's American...as I've seen this type bowl in vintage forms with the USA stamp. I'd love to know the name.
Thank you.
Nice... gonna try it out!😊😋
Beautiful salad!
Will respectfully omit the cheese and meat.
I respectfully disagree, lol.
This is much like the chopped salad from Scala in Los Angeles ❤️
Yes it is and I love that place!
Very testy and helthy
Thanks for the salad recipe, it looks great! Please tell me where to get that glass measuring cup that held your oil in?
Doodah Gurl looks a lot like a beaker from my former Chem lab
Doodah Gurl & S.A.Z. it's a vintage glass our art director found-she's always looking at flea markets and second hand shops, but Etsy or eBay are some good places to look online. -KM
@@food52 Awww...I was hoping you would say you sell it like your mixing bowls. Thanks for letting me know so I can start my search.
Where did you get the tall glass measuring cup? Thank you!
I literally started to fall asleep...
That’s a lot of dressing using 1.5 cups of EVOO. Do you pour the entire batch into the mixture of salad ingredients?
Nancy you did a great job! Erase all the haters. You'd think they were hired to criticize you. Yuck....
In times of mask breath getting rid of the aftertaste matters. :)
This salad is so good for a sandwich, too!
4:23 Big no-no - getting water in your salad from the onions! Strain AND dry off with paper towel. That will just make your salad soggy.
This is very true!
Did you use word press or wix for your website?
Another lovely track! Why no credit???
Thanks for mentioning this, Sam-I'm checking in with our video team about it. -KM
Made me anxious, I don’t know why. Mustard helps emulsification
Paul Schneider she’s not concerned with emulsification, LOL!
I love chop salad but chopping things definitely isn’t relaxing to me.
Me too. I fell asleep 😴
Use wooden spoon instead of metal ,because of chemical reactions .
🖖✌
It kills me when she scrapes that knife blade across the chopping board , no wonder that knife of her's is blunt 🥶
A LOT of criticism here! Many of you should consider that things are not perfect. Especially not in your eyes! You must have terrible relationships with people. I'd suggest you stick to rattlesnakes, that's what you're like.
I cannot even believe this much thought goes into a salad....I made this EXACTLY AS SPECIFIED......TOTALLY NOT IMPRESSED. It was good, don't get me wrong. But it was ordinary at BEST. Nothing special and I seriously cannot believe food bloggers are talking about this as "the one" the so "SPECIAL" salad. I don't get this at ALL. And like I previously stated, it is tasty but not extra special in ANY way.
What's your favorite salad? Just curious
Great recipe. But... knife skills!!!!! So cringeworthy.
Yup, my knife skills are rustic at best (even when I'm not trying to talk to a camera!), but I'm hoping for some people it will help them feel like they don't need fabulous knife skills to make a really great chopped salad. -KM
Food52 Just always make sure you curl your fingers and thumb away from the knife so you don't accidentally cut off a bit of your thumb in a careless moment... Trust me on this one - it is not a fun experience you want to repeat.
Good recipe, interesting salad, but that weird background music is dreadful. Almost too unpleasant to deal with.
What's weird about the music? Uh what?
No thanks, absolutely fiendish volume of oregano, horrible imbalanced flavors. The veg components are all whacked out.
I don’t know anyone who would eat it and we are all vegetarians!
Looked good until the meat and cheese. Even when I ate meat a long time ago, we never added meat to our salads. I don’t even think my Italian grandmother added meat to her salads. Cheese yes, but never meat 🤷🏻♀️. The bowls are pretty.
Hi! Those are our Five Two stoneware mixing bowls -- you can find them on our site! food52.com/shop/products/6342-five-two-stoneware-mixing-bowls
Hope this helps!
Iceberg isn't sweet. Many times I've bought a very bitter iceberg. Yuck!
It actually is... you understand what she means by sweet? Not candy sweet ...
Looks delicious except for the animal products. 🤭. The aggressive oregano sounds interesting enough for me. I may cube some avocado to replace the cheese component and leave milk for baby cows like nature intended.
I agree, Glenda! Thank you, for reminding us this salad can be delicious without the cruelty! 🐮🐷
This kind of comment is what makes you veg people sound crazy. Just to explain basic science...the milk that calves get from their mothers is very different from what you get to drink. You're drinking from udders...calves drink from teats. You just made me hate veg people again.
Lisa McAllister You actually HATE people you don’t know because they have compassion for animals? Who sounds like the crazy psycho now, lol?!
Clarissa Vaida why is it that every vegan has to try to impose their dietary choices on the rest of us by shaming? If you're vegan I'm happy for you, I'm not so deal with it.
ICEBERG LETTUCE? Are you serious?
It's a chop salad, that's what you use for A CHOP SALAD.
“Two of those two types of garlic...” “salts the tomato to become more tomato-y...” easily the WORST presentation ever, for what appears to be a completely lackluster salad.
So where is your fab salad recipe then?
It's actually very good.
