This is one of those songs that grows on you. While God's Menu is impactful and draws you in from the start, Back Door starts off pretty normal but becomes more addicting the more you listen to it which makes it's impact last even more. I’m not hating, just laying this down first, But producing a song in 6 hours actually is something more common than you think it is. I’m a musician/producer as well and working on a complete beat usually takes as long as 6 hours, sometimes even lesser or even longer depending on how you’re feeling it that day. So when Changbin said they can make 30 beats in 6 months, it’s actually possible for every producer if they really put in effort to do so. It’s amazing nonetheless, but all I’m saying is most producers write multiple beats every single day, including 3racha :D
I actually took ‘Back Door’ a different way almost like the outsiders the unwanted and misunderstood are demoted and forced to go through the back to stay hidden and this is their way of saying authorized personnel only almost like taking them under their wing and like hey outsiders the misunderstood we get you welcome you can always come to us you’re automatically authorized to come to us and speak to us and get strength from us by walking through this back door turning the Back Door into something good and welcoming.

this era seriously is becoming one of my favourites. don’t get me wrong, their i am series holds such a special place in my heart and they’re truly special albums, but the boys are bringing something else to the table this time that just hits so differently. i’m having so so much fun in this era, arguably the most fun i’ve ever had. we’re breaking previous comeback records and setting new ones, so many new stays joined the fandom after gods menu, i’m just incredibly proud of them. and thank you for bringing up the music video phases. now that you mentioned it, i notice the trend too between eras.
Geez, it feels like God's Menu came out just yesterday! Personally, I tried not to get hyped for this comeback, but I found that Back Door ended up being really good follow-up to God's Menu (that bass just gets me every time). Do these guys ever sleep??
Y’all I just realized that when Seungmin puts out his arm for Hyunjin (who is being help up by other members), it looks like The Creation of Adam painting🙀
This is still dystopian af, but they’ve established themselves through the depressing stories and now they’re gonna go back and rebel with the ppl from district 9 knowing who they are
As someone who left Kpop for almost a decade i've never heard anyone like these guys before. I would say Kpop isn't as manufactured as it was back then (which is great) but I feel like they are very refreshing. And the MV is equally as refreshing even if it feels a little bit like an acid trip haha.
At the very end of God's Menu, if you stick around for a few more seconds, there's a scene where the Stray Kids are walking toward a door with a neon sign above it that says "Back Door." So yeah, Back Door was pretty much a follow-up or sequel to God's Menu.
I can't wait for your reaction to the repackaged album. All the new songs was so good. I can't believe they released a repackaged album with no skips. STRAY KIDS IS THE FUTURE OF KPOP
i love this era so much! their growth is astronomical and i just love the direction they’re going! back door is my favorite title track- i knew so immediately:)
Stray Kids are extremely good at giving us a handful taste of different styles and gentes while keeping their essence, it’s incredible how they transitioned from side effects, to levanter, to god’s menu and songs are still so them. For god’s menu and now back door, first listen had me completely shocked, but as i watched the mv more and listened to the song by itself, i absolutely fell in love with it, i realize now that same thing happened for side effects. They have an incredible discography and I can’t wait for you to listen to the album itself.
Overall MV felt like they did a heist at an art museum. Avoiding the security and all some sort of celebration at the end for a successful heist (also the way they all disappeared the end while the security was walking in the background) As for the song, it's incredibly addicting the more you listen to it. The bass line is so smooth. My personal favourite aspects though are the near minimalist samples (the knocking, the door creaks, the ticking clock in the bridge and THE BELL). It's very pleasing for me. I love it alot. Also, the second pre-chorus formation, they referenced Michaelangelo's The Creation of Adam. Starting to think they may be hinting future concepts they plan on doing. Really excited to see them grow even further.
when i think of back door i think about a door for employees, especially with the god's menu ending where the chefs leave the kitchen through the back door. With this video some of the outfits look like hotel concierge-type fits so I thought of a scenario of service industry employees hanging out by entering the back door only they have access to haha.
This comeback was one of the most hype songs I’ve ever heard and felt. I was literally going crazy with the extra energy I got from the song. They went back to district 9 but as crazy new, improved and more established people
They forshadowed this at the end of God's Menu video when they walked to the back door.... I love all the little touches in this song - the door sound, the Lights Out" , the bell sound, the dri/drop sounds in the chorus. It's fun!
8:02 I love how when they're dancing in this part someone in the background is turning the switch on or off. That's why the lights get low or bright. 8:21 is like the painting "The Creation of Adam", which relates to God and they have God's Menu. Just genius!
Honestly gods menu era was so refreshing and allowed them to really reinvent their sound and come back stronger especially after the slump they had in oct 2019. Gods menu really got people to become interested in them even Korean gp began to notice them so they’re really taking advantage of this new buzz around them. Back door is such a good follow up song too. It’s similar enough to gods menu to grab the attention of people who liked that specific sound but different enough to keep them interested for more. The new songs are also so good especially “Any” it’s my favorite and as a STAY I’m just so happy to see them finally get more recognition and I’m just so excited for what’s to come next 🥺
Yeah i’d say it pretty much is a direct sequel to gods menu. At the end of gods menu mv they are seen walking out of the ‘back door’ and we were all clowns for missing such an obvious clue 😂 but even the styling, like the modern hanboks in this mv feels like a continuation from the chef inspired fits from gods menu
did anyone else notice the dude walking across the background of the mv at the end? when they started disappearing he looked around like he was lost or looking for something
I think he was like a security? He’s probably looking for the invaders (skz) but then they just disappeared into the invisible back door. Idk it’s just my guess haha
9:55 honestly this ending is SO SICK. i don’t know if you noticed but when they’re all leaving, IN and Han appeared in the background to dance together but they’re still in the 1st shot (when they’re walking towards the camera)!! such a cool effect also the way they literally disappeared behind felix and he also did it after his “you wanna come in?”
i feel like stray kids are really separating themselves from the rest of the industry in terms of experimenting with music. they never really seem stuck into a single sound or concept yet all their music somehow sounds like them? i like that theyre pushing their boundaries and that theyre not afraid to do something unique or even weird.
I see all of their albums as part of a bigger arc that follows the process of growing up and coming into their own (like, the human journey). Following their first, pre-debut release, the first trilogy is the beginning of figuring themselves out, asking a lot of big life-questions. The second trilogy is moving into the maze of adulthood and navigating that process, including taking responsibility for your decisions, not comparing yourself to others, and finding your own path. And this year's releases are a lot more swaggy and confident: We are here, we're skilled at what we do, and we'll race you--we're ready to compete and set the pace. It is seriously such a privilege to watch them developing their concepts, trying out all kinds of ideas, and succeeding. ❤
yes, their music is really unique not just in KPOP but music general. all musician build their song from low to high, but it's different with skz. they really dont care about grip..
the chorus choreo is aggressive but also so fluid and beautiful?? i've never really paid attention to stray kids before, i'm usually more of a GG person. but. . . i'm enchanted. only seventeen's done that before. the bass line at times, like in the ending, is so quiet and bouncy but also powerful and smooth ITS SO GOOD.
Stray Kids has such a unique sound and the same can be said about their MVs in these last comebacks, so good! Ps: I'd love to see PD reacting to WayV's Bad Alive and Wonho's Open Mind, they always give such amazing coments
For me, the most amazing thing about this mv is the perfect correlation between lyrics and choreo THAT'S INSANE the way they managed to let the viewer understand the meaning behind the lyrics even if you don't speak korean UGH I love these guys so much
Exactly! I wonder if Danceracha designed this choreo. It is insanely cool and understandable. I love it that towards the end it was more spontaneous like a celebration, rare for kpop boy group dances.
@@33Jenesis the very end of the video (choreo-wise) reminded me of some yg boy groups song's endings (like ikon and winner for example) because they look so spontaneous and don't seem to really follow a pattern but they're just enjoying the moment :) Also the second part of the chorus where they literally knock on an imaginary door while passing under the other members' arms looks like the roof of a house/building and that's soooo clever to me
This is definitely a sequel to God's Menu, both as a song and video. There are references in the MV to the God's Menu video (the chefs, the Niziu girls, the scientists, etc.), and also the rich guy from Miroh I believe. I like this sound, it's very unique and fun yet hard-hitting! I personally call this the 'saeng' series, since it's technically Gosaeng and Insaeng.
I just love how they can turn a simple concept to something so creative,, who'd knew a kpop idol group would be singing about cooking and opening a door
I can literally not explain how happy I am that they added the outro. Like I absolutely loved the song already but the outro kicked it up my fav list by a LOT
As someone who follows them since the survival show, I'm in shock of what our shy cute Hyunjin has become... Also, Felix's make em' say wow wow wow yeah?? That definitely can't be legal
In a period where attending concerts/music shows... and other stress relieving events is really difficult and dangerous, I feel grateful to Stray kids that they put so much work to create this unique experience where it feels like I'm watching this refreshing show that pumps up excitement and makes me so motivated to keep on working hard !

this era seriously is becoming one of my favourites. don’t get me wrong, their i am series holds such a special place in my heart and they’re truly special albums, but the boys are bringing something else to the table this time that just hits so differently. i’m having so so much fun in this era, arguably the most fun i’ve ever had. we’re breaking previous comeback records and setting new ones, so many new stays joined the fandom after gods menu, i’m just incredibly proud of them.
and thank you for bringing up the music video phases. now that you mentioned it, i notice the trend too between eras.
this era holds a special place in my too as its my first era to be a part of.
The perfect opportunity to do a Stray Kids listening party, just sayin😏
yt will probably take it down unfortunately
Geez, it feels like God's Menu came out just yesterday! Personally, I tried not to get hyped for this comeback, but I found that Back Door ended up being really good follow-up to God's Menu (that bass just gets me every time). Do these guys ever sleep??
stray kids are really serving everything huh
This comeback is gold
Woooww..I see MASHI in your dp😍
Y’all I just realized that when Seungmin puts out his arm for Hyunjin (who is being help up by other members), it looks like The Creation of Adam painting🙀
I noticed that right away too!
Also the white doors stacking reminds me of Monster's Inc.
Alex De Leon dude yes😅
Yes!!!
This is still dystopian af, but they’ve established themselves through the depressing stories and now they’re gonna go back and rebel with the ppl from district 9 knowing who they are
YOO CHAN NOTICED YOU ON HIS LIVE AND HE CALLED YOU PD TOO
Instead of a museum, i feel like the location is the same one where seungmin was in God's menu, the building of the banquet hall he was in.
"i like this era. it seems fun."
then b me and 미친 놈 come
The girls are from the nizui project. They were in gods menu too. Y’know the girls in the school uniform in the car track thing
I clicked faster than i can blink my eyes. Strays Kids are just going up!!!
PD: seems like Back Door is a sequel to God's Menu
Also PD in God's Menu video: Oh it's a back door seems like it's a comeback
Backdoor means that STRAYKIDS are inviting us to them. If you want to come, you are always welcome. Its basically them introducing theirselves.
As someone who left Kpop for almost a decade i've never heard anyone like these guys before.
I would say Kpop isn't as manufactured as it was back then (which is great) but I feel like they are very refreshing. And the MV is equally as refreshing even if it feels a little bit like an acid trip haha.
CHANGBIN WITH THE CHORUS AND A VERSE!!!
They are growing so much. I'm a proud Stay.
Stray kids have been KILLING it recently, their releases have been my favorites of this year as well as some of the most memorable
9:24 because they are PD, NiziU final lineup was also leaked in God's Menu
NiziU Lineup was finalized way before God's menu bruh. Not leaked.
Not really...those who their faces are seen in gods menu are just half of the final lineup
At the very end of God's Menu, if you stick around for a few more seconds, there's a scene where the Stray Kids are walking toward a door with a neon sign above it that says "Back Door."
So yeah, Back Door was pretty much a follow-up or sequel to God's Menu.
Stray Kids never fails to amaze me, this is such a good repackaged comeback
I can't wait for your reaction to the repackaged album. All the new songs was so good. I can't believe they released a repackaged album with no skips. STRAY KIDS IS THE FUTURE OF KPOP
its actually some niziu members in the background in white hoodies, they were in gods menu too!! thank u for the reaction btw!
say with me: skz aoty
S
K
Z
A
O
T
Y
Skz. ALBUM. OF. THE. YEAR.
@I like bread ouuu hehe my bad sorry, but they totally could get both :')
SKZ AOTY PERIODT.
SKZ AOTY!!!❤️❤️❤️
i love this era so much! their growth is astronomical and i just love the direction they’re going! back door is my favorite title track- i knew so immediately:)
When i tell you the music mv editing styling amazed me so much i’m so excited to watch your reaction!
When you say Stray Kids and even your cat joins the party!!! 00:29 😆
They must be devoted Stays.
They have an incredible discography and I can’t wait for you to listen to the album itself.
pretty sure it's a sequel cause at the end of god's menu they exit through the back door!
Yes it's a sequel
I can tell you from a none K-pop listener Stray Kids is hitting different. I love it.
God’s Menus was just the Appetizer, Back Door is the Full Course Meal. Can’t wait for Dessert. 🍰
Overall MV felt like they did a heist at an art museum. Avoiding the security and all some sort of celebration at the end for a successful heist (also the way they all disappeared the end while the security was walking in the background)
As for the song, it's incredibly addicting the more you listen to it.
Clicked so fast! Gotta say God's Menu is iconic but I think I like Back Door even more!
when i think of back door i think about a door for employees, especially with the god's menu ending where the chefs leave the kitchen through the back door.
It's fun!
Back door gives me musical theatre vibes. I been waitin for this one
8:02 I love how when they're dancing in this part someone in the background is turning the switch on or off. That's why the lights get low or bright. 8:21 is like the painting "The Creation of Adam", which relates to God and they have God's Menu. Just genius!
Bang Chan just mentioned you and your reaction on his vlive 🥺
I am the person who rarely cries when watching k-pop M\V's
But Stray Kids..... they make me cry every time. Back Door is not an exception.
PD! Please please pleaaasee do a listening party for the IN LIFE album! There’s 8 new songs and they’re all so good 😭💕
My favorite b-side is Any!
UP
I like any and WE GO.. I like all track in life album
At the end of gods menu mv they are seen walking out of the ‘back door’ and we were all clowns for missing such an obvious clue 😂 but even the styling, like the modern hanboks in this mv feels like a continuation from the chef inspired fits from gods menu
one thing i love about stray kids is that they have Such distinct music and such a specific sound that sets them apart from other groups
PD: "What is that, aggressive polka music?" *dead* 3:13
did anyone else notice the dude walking across the background of the mv at the end? when they started disappearing he looked around like he was lost or looking for something
I think he was like a security? He’s probably looking for the invaders (skz) but then they just disappeared into the invisible back door. Idk it’s just my guess haha
This is actually a sequel to gods menu ~ at the end of gods menu the walk through the back door!
9:55 honestly this ending is SO SICK. i don’t know if you noticed but when they’re all leaving, IN and Han appeared in the background to dance together but they’re still in the 1st shot (when they’re walking towards the camera)!! such a cool effect
also the way they literally disappeared behind felix and he also did it after his “you wanna come in?”
Best rapper on boys group : jisung. Changbin
And bangchan too
i feel like stray kids are really separating themselves from the rest of the industry in terms of experimenting with music. they never really seem stuck into a single sound or concept yet all their music somehow sounds like them? i like that theyre pushing their boundaries and that theyre not afraid to do something unique or even weird.
i kinda love back door more than gods menu, i loved it from the first listen, on the other hand, with gods menu it took me a while to like it
I see all of their albums as part of a bigger arc that follows the process of growing up and coming into their own (like, the human journey). ❤
My favorite part is the outro. It is such a cool ending after the festive finale.
yes, their music is really unique not just in KPOP but music general. all musician build their song from low to high, but it's different with skz. they really dont care about grip..
Their music keeps getting better and better. I'm so proud of them ❤❤
the chorus choreo is aggressive but also so fluid and beautiful?? i've never really paid attention to stray kids before, i'm usually more of a GG person. but. . . i'm enchanted. only seventeen's done that before. the bass line at times, like in the ending, is so quiet and bouncy but also powerful and smooth ITS SO GOOD.
Stray Kids has such a unique sound and the same can be said about their MVs in these last comebacks, so good!
Ps: I'd love to see PD reacting to WayV's Bad Alive and Wonho's Open Mind, they always give such amazing coments
For me, the most amazing thing about this mv is the perfect correlation between lyrics and choreo THAT'S INSANE the way they managed to let the viewer understand the meaning behind the lyrics even if you don't speak korean
UGH I love these guys so much
Exactly! I wonder if Danceracha designed this choreo. It is insanely cool and understandable. I love it that towards the end it was more spontaneous like a celebration, rare for kpop boy group dances.
@@33Jenesis the very end of the video (choreo-wise) reminded me of some yg boy groups song's endings (like ikon and winner for example) because they look so spontaneous and don't seem to really follow a pattern but they're just enjoying the moment :)
Also the second part of the chorus where they literally knock on an imaginary door while passing under the other members' arms looks like the roof of a house/building and that's soooo clever to me
PD at God’s Menu: Hyunjin’s hair!
PD now with Back Door: First of all, HYUNJIN’s hair!! Holy-!!
Chan mentioned u in his vliveeee
the choreo is so agressive in the chorus, but the groovy verses are much more playful and bouncy as well as during the bridge. i love it sooo much
The girl group is Nizi U! They also appeared in gods menu 😊
This song had the same celebratory sort of feel as Miroh. Like it just full of confidence and they're riding a high that's very contagious
THEIR COMEBACK WAS SO GOOD
I swear. The transitions are great. Their editor, choreographer everybody in the team deserves a raise.
I WAS WAITING
edit: couldn’t agree more w everything u said
I know he’s like the only person I actually believe with his reaction it’s very honest
Love your name and dp love seeing a fellow NCTzen and Stay.
Felix don’t have much line here~ the good thing is that the focus to his visuals 🔥💯
back door was a giant knock-knock joke with the punch line being stay's bias lists
i saw someone else mention this but yess, the verses really seem like musical theatre. it’s so playful, energetic, bouncy, and easy-going
Stray Kids outdo themselves every goddamn time
PD this mv is so fun to look at, the whole Album would be your taste because it has the typical SKZ sound but more special combos
You MUST listen to the song Any of the album... Godddddd😍😍😍👌🏻
I just love how they can turn a simple concept to something so creative,, who'd knew a kpop idol group would be singing about cooking and opening a door
Love the reaction, I still cant decide if I like "Gods Menu" or "Back Door" more. Will you be uploading album reaction?????
I can literally not explain how happy I am that they added the outro. Like I absolutely loved the song already but the outro kicked it up my fav list by a LOT
pdnim: WOW
my brain: wOwww sHeS hOt
As someone who follows them since the survival show, I'm in shock of what our shy cute Hyunjin has become...
Also, Felix's make em' say wow wow wow yeah?? That definitely can't be legal
There should have been a counter in the corner of the video that counted how many times PD said “wow” 😅
In a period where attending concerts/music shows... and other stress relieving events is really difficult and dangerous, I feel grateful to Stray kids that they put so much work to create this unique experience where it feels like I'm watching this refreshing show that pumps up excitement and makes me so motivated to keep on working hard !
9:33 they are NiziU, jyp's japanese girl group, their debut is on october
Btw stream Back Door and the whole album
