I love the smoky atmosphere of this song. It takes me back to the days of piano bars in large restaurants that stayed open long after the restaurant had closed. Small tables with red candle globes glowing and soft conversations. Smoke swirling through the dim light and the faint scent of stale beer that had too many times been spilled on the carpet. A very good, lonely piano player off the side of the bar with a tip jar hoping tonight will be a good night.
Not that I have ever been in a late night smoke filled night club, but this gives me that feeling. Beautiful piano work, and Freddie's voice is just sublime.
Freddie definitely was familiar with his melancholy blues. Often wonder if he realized what an amazing composer he was ? He only got better near the end of his life. Heartbreaking to think of the songs and operas he would have created had he not left us entirely too soon 😓 TY for your reaction 🌷
