Great video. I'll say this. I grew carrots for the first time last year. I didn't know what I was doing. Some developed, although mine were small. They were the best carrots I have ever tasted as this guy says. The flavor and the I guess, dopamine from growing them was awesome!!! Planting a really good crop this year. I have super rich composted soil so this should go well.
And oh... I think your carrots do well because you add a draught of laughter and a cheerful heart to them when cultivating... thanks for the joke and the smiles and the warmth they bring along.

I've heard manure/compost can add a lot of nitrogen, and too much nitrogen can give you hairy carrots. In my container last warm season (they grew great mid-summer to fall), I only added some bone meal and kelp meal to the soil, and plenty of perlite and peat moss for aeration/fluff. They came out market quality and delicious. I thinned mine too but I see with your grow they came out fat, interesting to note. I might try not thinning for a super low effort grow. First hand at trying to grow carrots. Failed. I think I planted them to dense and I had a couple go to seed. I pulled up a few and they are twig thin. I'll try again for a fall harvest
It looks like you've got far too many carrots and I've need some for my soup. I'll stop over in a few hours for some of those yummy carrots. If you see a really large rabbit, with large ears, don't worry, it's just me. Did you know that carrot greens are also very nutritious? Most people toss them away. Great stuff! You didn't mention how strong fresh carrots SMELL. The shop bought ones you could stick up your nose and not smell them - or taste them really. 😝😝😝
I made some walnut, parmesan pesto with carrot tops a few months ago. It was delicious. Saw the idea on youtube. Now I've got to send this video to my husband. The carrots aren't coming up.
Tried to plant carrots. My daughter got the seed packet wet. Went to open it and it fell apart, all the tiny seeds dumped on the soil in on spot. So i did what I could to spread them out and cover them. Here's hoping they germinate and don't clump together too much.
Since I don't have as rich of compose like you do. What numbers of fertilizer would you suggest 555? Or something else? Thank you. You're a great teacher, I enjoy watching you.

Carrots are cheap to buy in the supermarket but home grown ones have so much more flavour. It's well worth growing them.
