What about child negligence? I was such child who was left at home alone since I was 4 with nothing to eat but biscuits. I had constant toothache and used to cry to my parents but they told me it was my own fault for eating sweet things. They never brought me to the dentist. I took matters into my own hand when I turned 18.

Many adults do not know how to brush their teeth on this planet even though they are surrounded by zillions of toothbrushes and toothpastes. Many adults and parents were not taught the importance of brushing their teeth twice every day and of keeping sugars very low every day. Some parents have lost half their teeth by the time they are 35. They have been encouraged to go to pubs and get drunk instead of going home to study books on nutrition and other important health matters to support their futures.
Even after attending schools in Europe many people have ended up alcoholics, chain smokers, sugar and junk food addicts by the time they are 18. This is the sad reality. The primary and secondary schools, even with tons of resources, are doing a very poor job of teaching basic healthy eating and basic oral hygiene well. Their students are full of alcohol, cigarettes, vapes, various different drugs, tons of sugary and unhealthy snacks by the time they leave school. By the time they leave school they have EVERY KNOWN UNHEALTHY ADDICTION.
In the UK at EVERY social occasion adults are surrounding people with super sugary foods, unhealthy white wheat products and alcohol, all things that are ruining EVERYBODY'S teeth and general health. Every book I have read on nutrition states that refined white sugar should be AVOIDED because it has been linked to tooth loss and tooth decay, obesity, diabetes etc. but in the UK most adults have been putting it EVERYWHERE in high amounts! The situation is VERY VERY BAD. Everyone is suffering the consequences of it all.
All children should be taught in schools how to prepare healthy snacks for themselves. They should be encouraged to prepare their own healthy lunches too in school with supervision from nutritionists. Tdday it is easier for young people to do this as they have access to RUclips and the internet.
White bread and refined white wheat flour products should be banned in all schools too as that also is something that should be avoided according to books on nutrition. It has been linked to MANY illnesses.
My parents always organised fresh fruit at home and we snacked on fruit and sometimes toast.
You should study books on nutrition as much as possible and prepare your meals carefully at home every day if you are experiencing teeth problems. Ensure your meals have a healthy complex carb portion, about 3 portions of veg and 1 healthy protein portion and no added sugar. Bought meals are full of refined white sugar and refined white wheat which are really bad for teeth and general health.
Maintaining good oral health is very important every day and everyone should spend time on it every day.

There is plenty in toothpaste. In fact there is the exact amount needed. Teaching your children to brush their teeth properly and regularly is what's needed. My two kids 9 +10 have perfectly healthy teeth and they only brush once a day mostly.
Sour sweets, fruit juices and fizzy drinks are what's causing the problems.
    Acid erosion and poor parenting.

+HoldOnToYourHats Tooth decay in children didn't seem to be a big problem when I was a child. I think children today eat more sweets and drink more pop than my generation did.

I agree...I fight daily to get my little boy to brush but he must!!!....Im 50 and bad gums from a history of poor oral health...im good now but the damage was done in my teens, 20s....I don't blame my folks.... but um not making the same mistake with my son...brush twice, at least once....yearly check-ups....that's all there is to it - that's the simple recipe to good teeth .
..oh yeh and stay away from soda and sweets as much as possible

Alot of healthy food is terrible for teeth fullstop, you can't win, eat right and end up with tooth decay, there are also hidden sugars in food that you wouldn't think, there are sugars in most food to be fair, its difficult to find food without a level of sugar in it, manufacturers must stop putting added sugar into food.

.. I wanna talk about a story I had. I was a child. I didn’t know some doctors put you to sleep. Fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the operation. They weren’t even pulling any out. All they were doing is filling my teeth but I freaked out they weren’t able to finish. I feel bad for those dentist…

They need to regulate tooth paste so that they all have sufficient fluoride in them.

I read about all the comments and most of the people are right I've never heard of sugar-free juice fluoride is toxic and ketchup is unhealthy too that's why french fries are unhealthy. If Caitlin is watching this or her mother 😂 I just want to say poor Caitlin she doesn't deserve to go through this even if she's 7 years old. 😭😣😔
