Great vid, that Moonstone blue one is absolutely stunning. I'm sure that white RS Turbo has its wheels on backwards though, I'm sure the spokes are supposed to go the other way - like blowing in the wind behind them rather than like ice picks digging into the tarmac as the car goes forward

all 4 wheels are the same so you can not fit them the wrong way 2 wheels face one way and 2 face the other. Always one of my pet hates

If you guys ever come across F500 RBP - a white Sapphire - , it was mine. Bought new, 10th January 1989. ‘Hendy Motorsport’ pack, a tweak of which was a 250hp Detection Techniques “chip” remap. I’ve forgotten the name of the former racing driver who ran Hendy Motorsport in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, but he was so comfortable with the robustness of the engine itself - as you state - that he was happy to back the normal Ford warranty with Hendy Lennox’s own 12-month backing, should anything have gone bang. 250 is nothing special, by your (outrageous!) horses, but I and my wife, loved it.
Love the stories! Keep up the good work and the attention to detail...

I always found with my 2wd ones when u really push them they have a tendency to understeer a bit first then the boost comes in and ya into over steer, very predictable tho if that makes sense. Would u agree or was that my driving lol

Driving style is a big thing in a cossie at anytime it will bite you. I found out with only 400bhp and 400lbft i was running 18"s at the time which don't do the handling any good.
Also as many people have changed the spherical trailing arm bushes for poly ones it makes them really dodgy. A Poly diff mount works well but tends to transmit noise into the car.
Always found the 2wd saff to be the best drivers car 3dr for me is like driving a boat and the 4x4 saff and escort is just heavy and for any good power increase a funky gearbox is required to handle the power.

I also had a T4 powered one running mega power and I just didn’t like the drive, it was hopeless. I don’t remember having a play with anything where corners were involved as it was useless. Sometimes too much power ruins them. I had a 600bhp @ crank Evo 8 which I hated. Couldn’t use the power, my current evos running circa 380 and it’s amazing to drive

I used to have a Sapphire cosworth many years ago. Thing was always breaking down, it was a royal PITA. My best current classic car is my Saab 9000 Aero 2.3T. It has 360bhp, and i can hammer it every bloomin day and it never goes wrong. Did a fairly big trip last week of 260 miles and it averaged 39mpg. Just a brilliant all round old-school Turbo car. 70 to 100mph in 3.5 seconds is slightly faster than a R8 V10 !.

Man that exhaust note gives me the chills. I had a D plate whale tale for a few months which i sold to buy a G plate sapphire as it was just too feral to keep on the wet roads. The guy paid stupid money for it. Binned it on a remote Highland road... The engine departed the car. He sadly had several seconds to reflect before the impact... The deal fell through for the sapphire.. I ended up with a estate GL 2.3 diesel which i put a peugeot 505 2.5TD engine in. It was used as a tow car. My mate had a Granada 2.9 EFI and drivetrain in a swb transit looking standard. That was fun at the lights..

@On The Limiter Car Registration G314 WVM my mate got the car in 2002. he bought it from a guy in newton hall, county durham. the car had around about 40k miles on the clock. he paid £6500 for it, the the guy he bought it off had is own engineering company, my mate had the choice to buy a rs500 steering wheel, stainless steel polished rocker cover and a stainless steel polished turbo heat cover, full sound system with bass box but he didnt choice to buy them. the car was kept in a garage with a dehumidifier. the car was fitted with a garret t34 hybrid rally turbo with two settings low boost at 15psi and high boost around 30psi, the car use to rev up to 7500rpm-8000rpm, the car was fitted with AP Racing 6 piston calipers on the front with 360mm vented and drilled discs and 4 piston on the back. it had a 4" straight through stainless steel mongoose exhaust, it had a half roll cage, koni adjustables on all four corners, it had a one off hand made aluminium billet gear shifter, it had £13500 spent on the engine at castle performance, on the receipt it said credit to previse owners of the sierra sappire cosworth this is if not the cleanest example in the country. the car had receipts for all the work and parts on the car, totalling £17500. i have near heard a car do such loud bangs through the gear changes, the car was that fast it use to beat yamaha r1 and gsxr 1000, we raced a c32 amg supercharged merc which tops out at 190mph up the a690 dual carriage way carrville to sunderland, we were coming back down the dual carriage way as he was still heading up to sunderland. nothing could come close to how fast the car was. the car started to loose boost from the dash 33 waste gate, so i took it to a performance garage where i got a forge group a spec waste gate, he asked what psi the car ran at and he said 30psi, the new waste gate couldnt handle that much psi so he fitted a stronger spring in it, we took the car out with the new waste gate fitted for a test run down a duel carriage where a porcshe 911 turbo was right up our ass so my mate said to me watch this as he drop the cossy in to 3rd the boost hit the car squatted and we just took off. We took the car out for a cruise with a friend in a 4x4 cossy, we were racing each other and out of no where the temp gauge went to the top. we took the car home as it sat on the drive it was badly leaking oil and water so next day we took it to the performance garage and took the head off the engine and found out that it had melted number 3 piston. some personal stuff happened which then i sold it to my mate whitch i think he put a new engine in, then i hadnt seen the car for 17 year till i seen this video!

@@onthelimiter6529 hi thanks for answering my question. I ask because I follow cscr and the Essex boys killings and in this story it's said a cosworth was spotted in the area of where the crime happened. At the crime scene there was some tyre tracks that were Goodyear NCT and it's believed these tyres were fitted standard on the cosworth. I think these tyres were standard on the vauxhall cavilier Sri 130,and the saloon version of this car could be mistaken for a cosworth if you not to sure in your cars, plus I thought the cosworth was either fitted with pirelli or Dunlop tyres. Sorry it's such a long reply, but thanks for your time. Cheers.
