From a cautionary standpoint you had really better know exactly where the lifting points on your vehicle are. Especially if it's not a body on frame rail assembly. Breaking a unicar (frameless) undercarriage will get really expensive when the body shop sees what you did... your insurance adjustor might total it if it's too distorted and the cost of repair exceeds the value of the car. Otherwise, it's a great way to lift using the Archimedes principle of "Give me a lever long enough and I can lift the world " ... this idea would be just the thing for lifting a lawn tractor for a quick blade change.

Someone in the comment section pointed out there’s a winch, and now I think I understand that the blue device on the floor to the right is what’s pulling the winch down. I was wondering why is there noise and why is the guy not using any muscle? I thought this was a trick done with a fork lift!

Yes, you can hear the winch motor and the operator has controller in his left hand....interesting idea though.

Very good proof of concept with a few minor modifications this could be a very nice solution for a Diy car enthusiast who can't afford the space or price of a two post or scissors lift. A lot of clowns in the comments section obviously have never examined a commercial lift or built anything from scratch as they don't seem to understand that
A a commerical lift runs the same size cable's just powered by a ram instead of a winch
B Any lift is dangerous unless you know what your doing
C This is obviously just a prototype so he can see if it's worth developing
Я не говорю плохая идея или хорошая,но мне кажется,подкатной домкрат можно купить дешевле чем стоимость всех швеллеров,да и ещё лебёдка.
Гидравлика долго не служит и покупать дорого..

Lot like jacks for raising motorcycles I used to make. Quite a bit different for a whole car.
Thinking about the portability, the weight of it all, the positioning of it, the possibility of it breaking something - like your car body or even your head, I'm thinking a good hydraulic floor jack is way better.
Or a properly mounted rack. Probably cost a little more than the girder iron, welder, gas and welding supplies but at least (if installed properly) it would be a little safer.

Agreed re motorcycle. I made one out of some 2”x6” boards and a 4’ pipe. Works like a charm for oil changes on my Road King.

Места много занимает , на такую высоту двухштоковым как у меня ураловским домкратом влегкую поднять можно , как то так .

This is a genius idea! It just needs some slight adjustments to be totally usable. Must have some type of hinge attaching the whole assembly to the ground. The lever "arms" should have a curvy form, so that it is not in the way of the wheels. Should have adjustable supports to be positioned correctly under the car. And perhaps also an improved pulley system.
I am sure that's how Egyptians build the pyramids

Nice simple machine. despite the fact It's a little rough for a prototype it could be improved by using smooth tubing on the parts that make contact with other surfaces while using hydraulics to keep it in place allowing adjustment of lift height and angle of attack for heavier machinery.
The whole point of this is to be cheap, hydraulics are out of the question. But some rubber roller wheels on the bar that lifts the car might just work.
If hydraulics are out of the question, then what are we hearing in the video making it go up and down? They don't show it.
Is that just the metal damaging the bottom of the car?

Если прикрутишь переднюю планку ,или приваришь , то можно назад опустить переднюю часть твоей конструкции и часть где двигатель будет в свободном доступе. Привет с Казахстана!

Dude the idea is great! Now install 2 roll bearings where the car sits. So the metal doesnt scratch the car. Then it would be perfect. But also.. then put something under the tires. If the cable fails, the car crushes u. So double check and its ok.

Having thought log & hard, I have just decided to do a massive facepalm........... bodgery at its best !!!!!!!! the damage to the car flatten the pinched seaams probably split them weaken the car, scrap off and protection what rubbish & potentially bloody dangerous

Do that with a 3400 pound vehicle like normal people drive, then i might be impressed. The vehicle pictured looks smaller than a pinto. I bet the average physically fit man could lift the whole front of that car up without the lever.
