I cannot thank you enough for your time and making this video! I am embarrassed to say that I have the serger feet and have not used them....I will now thanks to this great tutorial!
I love your videos.... great presentation, clear demonstrations and delivery. I have had a White 2000 superlock ats for about 20 years. The same presser feet came with the machine when i bought it. I have never used them because i was too lazy to figure it out. Thanks to you... i will use them now. love it! and thanks.
Wonderful feet for a serger! I noticed when everyone demonstrate different feet or technique are always made in a small piece of fabric! I would love to see these demonstrated on a real garment! It is easy on a small straight piece of fabric but on a real garment it is quite different.... thank you so much for sharing, have a wonderful day! Christine
I don't have this serger but I do have a babylock serger and have all the feet you have plus many many many more. Thank you for this video I will now take the time to use all the feet that I have invested in.
Since Brother makes Babylock I see all the feet are mostly the same as my Brother serger. I love this video! Anita You are awesome, a light in the world also. Thank you so so so much for your videos.
Just found your channel when searching for sewing info. From there I found this video. I must admit, I've not used my Juki serger much since purchase a year ago. Guess it is just a bit intimidating. Learning that there may be other feet available for it, I watched the video to see if I might want to purchase some. Your video was very informative. Thank you. Now the confession: Looking for the manual to see if it included info on additional feet, I went to the box the serger came in. Inside I found a kit with 6 different feet! [embarrassment] It came with those and I had completely forgotten. LOL In my defense, my serger is stored on a shelf not the box. Now the newly found feet are stored there as well. Perhaps sewing organization should be the next project. :)
Oh, what a joy to find treasures. I'm so happy to hear that your machine came with the feet. Now it's time to start using that serger. Have fun with your Juki.
You are the most wonderful teacher.I love your smile and how you seem to make it sound like you can do this.Maybe for Christmas I can buy myself this Vibrant .I did use my serger to make myself a pair of wide leg pants from knit. But I love to sew period. Thank you thank you.
I am definitely saving for this serger and the feet!!! It seems very affordable for a good quality serger, especially for a newbie like me. I am so inspired by your beautiful work, and healthy lifestyle. I hope you do more fabric hauls. Thank you for your wonderful channel and blog.
Thank you for this video demonstration, Anita. Love your channel. When sewing fabric from a pattern design is it best to disengage the cutting blade as not to loose seam allowance on the fabric? I am trying to understand the purpose of the cutting blade. I will not want to loose seam allowance if the blade is going to cut the fabric. I need some enlightenment pertaining this and thank you
Hi there. When you're sewing the garment with your serger, the purpose is to sew the seam and remove the extra seam allowance at the same time. That's the the cutting blade is engaged. You can disengage the blade if you don't want to remove the seam allowance though.
Although my ovation uses different feet I learn so much from you as you explain so well! Right now I am watching sewing videos to motivate me as I just got my machines serviced after sitting for several years. Currently I am in the organization mode with all my overload of sewing “stuff”!!!! My mother was a collector of fabric and sewing tools and when she passed last year I got a lot and my daughter in laws grandmother just gave me “stuff”! Then I have collected my own hoard of stuff!!! Sorting through it…. Do I really “need” 6 seam rippers, oodles and oodles off thread, 3 magnetic pin holders plus one that fits on wrist, buttons by the gallons, a huge drawer full of zippers, and patterns galore????? Well, since I do have ADD I probably do need several Seam rippers, and well, I have enough to share in case my granddaughter just happens to develop an interest in learning to sew. Thank you Anita for your beautiful smile and positive ways you inspire us!!!
Oh my goodness, Leah! You just made my heart smile. I'm very sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I'm glad you have her sewing tools. Have fun organizing your supplies. I say hold on to all those seam rippers. I have a basket full of them. They go dull and I just throw them out and grab a new one. I also have several magnetic pin holders. One for regular pins and the other for ballpoint. Then I have aa magnetic pin wand because I want easy pickup when pins spill out. LOL!
i love your tutorials, you are so clear and understandable. here is 1 for you that i use all the time "Righty Tighty Lefty Loosey" for tightening and pressure
I love your smile and you do great instruction. I have tried to figure how to replace foot on my innovation . I’m ready to stop reading manual and try it . . Foot came off easy but don’t ksnow how it goes back
You are such a wonderful teacher! Thank you for the time you take to teach! Will these feet work on my baby lock Euphoria or is it specifically for the vibrant?
I have a question about using the elastic foot with a pattern for a garment. When sewing a pattern that requires elastic, you have a piece cut that needs a corresponding cut piece of elastic that you need to stretch to fit the fabric. How do you know how much to tighten the screw on the elastic foot in order to accommodate the appropriate amount of stretch? Thank you so much for your tutorials. You explain everything so clearly and I appreciate your help so much.
That makes me feel better that I’m not the only one that finds that a problem. It seems easier to just stretch the elastic to fit. The ease of using the foot would be nice since I have it but I don’t want to have to fiddle with it figuring out. Thanks for responding!
Hi Anita, Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have a Baby Lock Evolution that is waaaaaaay more machine than I know what to do with (the discounted price for the machine was unbelievable, so I accepted that blessing and purchased it), but I’m taking my time and learning. This tutorial gives me confidence to “go for it!” Wondering where did you purchase your seam gauge for this serger? I’m hoping I can find one for my serger. Thanks again for all of your great videos. I love watching them. You are so wonderful and clear and your work is amazing. Peace!
Oh, I have the Evolution too, and I LOVE it! If you got a great deal on it, you SCORED!!! The seam gauge came with the serger. It's the neatest thing ever and so many people are asking about it.
Anita by Design Thank you for the information regarding the seam gauge. Hopefully you’ll do a similar tutorial for the Evolution. I love working with it but I’m still getting my confidence up! All in good time. Thanks again for your quick response and videos.
Hi, Anita. I've just bought a Vibrant. Thank you for your demonstrations. But I have a question. On your tutorial sewing a t-shirt, when you use the blind hem foot, there was a normal straight stitch on the right side of the hem. But in this video you had a different kind of perpendicular stitches on the right side of the fabric which you can open up. Can you pls, clear that part? I prefer a straight stitch when I use my blind hem foot, like you get on the t-shirt. Thank you 🙋♀️💕
Hi there. Yes, in the t-shirt video it appears as though the stitches are horizontal but they're not. If you zoom in on the video you can see the perpendicular ticks just a little but not too well because the thread is same color as fabric. I think that maybe the type of fabric I used may have gave the illusion of horizontal stitches. Not sure, but the stitches are the same in both videos. The hemmer foot will only create perpendicular stitches. If you prefer the horizontal stitches you can just use your regular machine for the hems. I hope this helps.
@@AnitabyDesign Thanks for speedy reply. The Acclaim code is BLES4. Hopefully your instructions will also apply to the set of extra feet I'm getting for my Acclaim. Kind regards
Hi! My daughters gave me a server for Mother's Day. I didn't have a choice. But I wondered if those feet will work on my server. I have a Brother 1034D. Thanks God Bless! 😊💝
Georgia-Rose Harper-Greer Hi Georgia-Rose! These feet only work on the Vibrant Serger. You may want to check your owner’s manual to see if your serger has optional feet that you can purchase.
Great video! I have an evolution, I’m sure I can apply what you just did with the vibrant to my evolution. I have a question. Do all baby lock sergers have a low presser foot; space between feed dog and foot? Thank you, love your video!
CreativeGrammie Thank you. Yes, I have the Evolution too and you can purchase additional feet for that machine too.I’m not sure what you mean by low presser feet. I assume all the machines are the same, but not sure.
Anita I bought the vibrant on your recommendation and love it. The picture of the oiling points is not great, could you do a video to show where to put oil please?
Anita, thank you for sharing. Really good tutorial. I don't have any of those presser feet for my Brother overlocker but it's good to know how to use them. Would you mind telling me where you got the adjustable metal guide for your overlocker or did it come with it when you bought it. I would love to buy one of these guides if they were available to purchase separately.
