Thank you! Thank you so much! I watched a lot of videos to help me threading my new Vibrant Serger, and let me tell you something : You ARE the BEST!!! you helped me so much, I watched so many times this video for help! I love my Vibrant and you helped me for that!
Anita, I bought a Baby Lock Vibrant after watching these videos. For some reason, my threads were tangled, so I watched your tutorial and threaded it myself. Thank you! I know the serger has instructions shown inside, but I much prefer a video. For my particular learning style, it is easier to understand. :-)
Thank You!! This is the reason I bought the Vibrant - you made it so easy to thread and to use. I am 72 and I threaded it the first time with your help. Very clear videos and the very best on RUclips.
Anita I have a new babylock Vibrant, I had problems with the tension and that took me to your video, I threaded the machine the way to do it and the upper looper thread was not making the loop and got cut, I went back to the manual and you skip the step four, where you have to thread true the last loop like in the picture on the manual, I did that and the machine work perfect. I love the tip you give about turn to 0 on the tension that way the thread got into it, I think that was the problem I had. Love you way of teaching, please kip doing it and last Thanks a lot making this videos is a lot of work.
Hi there. Congratulations on your new Vibrant. I looked back at the video and I don't see where I skipped a step. I watched a couple of times. But I'm really glad you were able to use your manual to fix the issue you were having.
I am thinking of getting a serger and your video totally took away the fear of threading it for me! I was trying to decide between the Babylock Vibrant and the much more expensive air thread Celebrate. Your video makes the threading so easy to follow. Thanks so much. I have been watching your videos for several years now (since before your husband passed away) and I think you do an amazing job of explaining things. I am very happy you seem to have recovered your “joie de vivre”. I would love some videos on serger projects other than garments some day. I have been sewing a loooong time and you’re a great teacher.
@@AnitabyDesign got the Vibrant last Saturday and went for my “new owner” class today. Thanks to your very clear videos I sort of knew what I was doing 😁. Now to sew a dress! McCalls 7122 is cut out and ready to serge.
Anita, I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate your love for this craft, your teaching style, your passion for it, your compassion for us newbies and the overly ambitious and not so skilled! I was about to give up on my vibrant when I watched another tutorial thread the upper looper through a wire frame that was totally not even in the instruction manual. I so appreciate you for helping me with my project tonight!! Thank you!
Oh, Elle, this just put a huge smile on my face. Thank you so much for sharing with me. I'm thrilled to be able to offer support to new beginners. Your words have really blessed my heart.
THIS IS A FANTASTIC VIDEO AND I WANT TO ORDER THIS MACHINE. YOU MADE IT LOOK SO EASY. PLEASE DON'T STOP MAKING VIDEOS LIKE THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE TRULY AMAZING AND VERY HELPFUL . :)
Good morning Anita. Once more I want to thank you for coming back to RUclips in such a warm and real way. Your personality, your talent and the gentle detailed way, in which you proceed is needed on RUclips. Shamefully my sewing machine is in storage but you've motivated me to give sewing by machine another try. Currently I stitch, the few skirts, shawls, slip covers and scarfs I make by hand. I also refit, alter and detail clothing for others all by hand. My daughters, in there effort to encourage my interest in sewing. Brought me a beautiful computerized Brother sewing machine; Therein stood the problem. Understanding how to properly thread the machine along with what stitch or needle to use was a challenge. I made one skirt by machine versus several by hand in the same amount of time. It was awful and it didn't take much for me to shriek away from modern machinery.... 😊💕😊 My point is I'm inspired by how genuine of a person, you seem to be. Thank you.
Reginaaaaaaa!!! I wish I could sit with you and help. Here's what I suggest doing. Pull out your sewing machine from your beautiful daughters (what a thoughtful gift). Get the instruction guide and start from page one. Read the manual and follow the guidelines along the way. The manuals are REALLy a great help. Then, if you don't understand something about your machine from reading the manual, search for RUclips videos for your particular machine. Practice, practice, practice. You have a special gift with your hand stitching. However, I think you will enjoy using the machine once you give it another try. Don't be intimidated. You can do it.
@@AnitabyDesign Thank you and yes I agree. Thoroughly reading the manual as well as following the in closed DVD, more closely. Will help me out a lot. As far as wishing, you could or I could, sit along side you. Yes! All day long 😊💕😊. I'll be taking classes this spring and that's what I'm looking for. Hands on, side by side help. I'll keep watching you as I learn and once I'm more efficient. I'll be sure to let you know.
I am so glad that I watch two different ways, for baby look does not do this process as smooth as you do it. She also showed a few different steps. your way is much easier
Thank you. I watch. several videos when I'm trying to learn something on RUclips. I love that everyone brings something a little different which I consider a benefit because I get to learn even more. I really appreciate you for watching.
Hi Anita, I enjoyed your series about the Serger. I have one that I got from a friend's family after she passed away. I have not used it yet but after watching your tutorials I no longer feel as intimidated to try it. Thanks again
I'm sorry about your friend, Heidi. I'm glad you have something of hers that you can cherish and remember her by each time you use it. I wish you much success on your journey of learning to sew.
Anita, thank you for the thorough illustrations. You made the threading much easier than the manual! I bought this serger because of your detailed illustrations and explanation. Thank you!
I just bought one. Ooh I'm nervous. Never used a serger before. Will keep this video nearby. Hope i can figure out how to work it. LOL. Going to be following your see alongs so i can learn as much as I can. Thank you for all that you do.
Anita, thank you so much for your Patient Teaching! I'm considering purchasing a new serger to replace my (quite old serger with a BabyLock) and this was very helpful. Loved" It comes with the accessories)
I ran across you channel yesterday.. I watched your 3 part series . I used your link and purchased the machine... I was always Afraid of the threading process but you made it look so easy and Plus I will have your video to follow. thank you
Hello Anita! Just found your RUclips channel. It has been a pleasure getting to know you, your families story and your faith in our Lord and Savior. I've had a beautiful Baby Lock Serger for about 20 years that my Husband gifted me for Christmas. It is SO wonderful to hear that Baby Lock has been such a wonderful company. Makes me want to buy more machines just because they are so good. Many prayers to you and your boys as you continue to heal. Have a blessed and joy filled day!
Hi Anita. Thank you so much for the video. It's easier than I thought. Looking at the machine and just the thought of using four different spools of thread at one time spelled complicated in my mind. Thanks again and God bless you!
Great job. It still seems a little intimidating. I think it's because I have never used a serger and I really don't understand how they work. However, I think next week when you start serging it will all fall into place. Looking forward to next week. God Bless and have a great week. 😊
Anita, that is an excellent video on how to thread the Vibrant from scratch. In fact the whole series is great, thank you so much. I'm debating between a Baby Lock or Juki MO-654DE, this video of yours weighs me toward the Baby Lock.
Your explanation looks clear, but I'm hoping I can get through all this when I actually jump in! I've been sewing for 40 years and would LOVE to use a serger - but it looks scary! Thanks for videos Anita.
Love you teaching style! Threading is the worse part (IMO)! This looks like a great little machine . I like the simplicity of the loopers' threading pass. As @wackyjacky said " less intimidating" .
Thanks for easily explaining ,, I luv your videos,, but when you threaded the green thread ,, before u threaded the eye , I think u missed threading the other guide. ,, I’m new so ,, please let me know if it’s not necessary to thread that last loop before u thread the eye,, Thks Luv enjoy your day.
Hi Tammy. There is no other guide to be threaded before the eye. With the green thread, only 2 guides are threaded, then the needle. I think I confused you because my thread fell around that top hook before threading the needle.
I simply enjoy 😉 watching your videos. I am looking at sergers but since I do not sew professionally would it be a good investment? Also which kind of serger would you recommend to a person as I am learning all over again.
Hi Susan. If you are sewing your own garments, a serger is a wonderful investment. I think the Baby Lock Vibrant or the Brother 1034D sergers are both great for beginners.
Anita, please help me. I just purchased a Baby Lock Vibrant serger. I wish to create a narrower 4-thread overlock stitch. The default width is 1/4 inches. I would like it narrower, 1/2 cm. I tried with moving the overedge knob on the left side of the machine, but I don't know how to make the edge looks nice (not hanging over loop). I could make a 1/2 cm, 3-thread stitch but I want a 4-thread stitch. Thank you Anita. God bless 🌷
It was very well taught but the links for the hemming section were incomplete or incorrect. I couldn't find how to attach and use the converter for two thread use. Multiple links were shown but none of them discussed the converter. I'm still confused about it.
I don't want to use colored thread, just white. I'm finishing off the bottom of ruffles so they don't frey on baby bottoms. I want the smallest stitch for this. I'm having a hard time adjusting the tension. Any suggestions. ?
Hi Nadine. I suggest checking the owner's manual that came with your machine. There should be a section on how to adjust eat tension. Then just test the stitching on scrap fabric.
Threading doesn't look so bad. Someone said that this machine is missing a feed dog that others have, which makes knits not feed so well. Is that true?

Anita by Design Thank you so much for getting back to me regarding the sergers. You are a great 👍 teacher.
After knotting the black thread, Could you run the machine to feed the black thread through it instead of pulling it by hand?
I wouldn't recommend doing that because that would likely break the thread.
Awesome Anita thank You ❤

I’ve decided this is the serger I want based on your videos. Do you have an affiliate link I can use to make the purchase?
Awesome, Kayla! Yes, there's a link in the description box.
Very new to a serger, which threads go in which needle?
Red thread goes to left needle. Yellow thread goes to right needle. Thank you for asking. I should have included that part.
It was very well taught but the links for the hemming section were incomplete or incorrect. I couldn't find how to attach and use the converter for two thread use. Multiple links were shown but none of them discussed the converter. I'm still confused about it.
Hi Cathy. I'm not sure which links you're referring to. Can you explain to me with more detail?
I f i want to sew with 2 threads only which two threads do I thread, the ones on the right or on the left. Thanks
Hi there. You will follow the threading guide in your manual. It will depend on what type of stitch you're creating.
are you correct when you say to turn the handwheel counterclockwise away from you at 3:20? didn't you mean turn it counter clockwise toward you?
Yes, I meant toward me. 😂 That's not the first time I've made that mistake. 🤦🏽♀️

Pls I will like to learn physically from you dear
Where is your location?
Hi there! I don't give lessons in person, only here on RUclips.
So...I don't understand the reason for the black thread, if we're going back to the primary colors 😕
It was to demonstrate how to change threads with the tie-off method.
