Great job editing man, video was great! One of my best days panning was under light sand with sticks mixed in, the gold just ends up in weird spots sometimes. Gotta look everywhere!
Matt... Just found you. Nice video! :) Can I ask which fork? I normally find my best gold on the NF Yuba. SF Yuba has been a lot less. Never been on the MF Yuba, yet. :) A couple recommendations: 1). Get some GOOD knee pads. 2). Use some cheap harbor freight blue PVC coated gloves to save your hands. 3). If I have to classify, I put in VERY little material into your 1/2 inch classifier, then shake in a circular motion, fast, then pitch the rocks. SO much faster & easier and less energy wasted than filling the classifier full, especially IF the material's wet, and shaking forever... 4). I almost NEVER go out without my trusty (4-foot, 4-lb, green plastic) Le Trap sluice. Even if I am crevicing. IF you fine decent material, just dig, dump/hand rake, wash thru the Le Trap vs. hand panning. You can move at least 3 to 4 times the dirt and it's easier. The Le Trap gets at least 90% recovery, if set up properly. I drill a small hole in the very end, leash it up with 550 para cord to a stick with a rock on it, JUST in case it breaks free. Saved my $100+ Le Trap more than once. :) Keep your videos coming!! Maybe see you out on the river too. Heavy pans. Randy C0017A :)
I've found over 300 grams from that point to the beach ⛱️ below , your spot on with the light sand every bit of material pays at ol independence 🎉 even though it's been hammered by many it still pays every trip down
I think its in the lighter material because its simply newer gold that has been washed down and hasnt had time to sink to the bottom of the bedrock. Strait up tells you the gold is still washing from the hills and gullies into the rivers still, if humans were not around for 4 or 5k years picking up gold and prospecting it would end up littering the streams like in the original gold rush.
Gold in the top material, gold in the red oxidized sand, gold in the blond sand . Flood gold is found in flood layers? Excellent deduction! What country are you in? What river? You have an American accent, not Australia, Colorado, Arizona? are you in Northern California?
River city prospectors is out of the Sacramento area for GPAA. What river are you prospecting? Yuba, or American? Those would be my 2 guesses. Did you check any bedrock cracks?
