The Northern Port of the City of Xen - A Minecraft Timelapse

  • With so many buildings in development, the City of Xen needed a port to handle the influx of cargo, and visitors. Ships of all sizes needed a safe harbor to unload their cargo, and the city welcomes them with open arms while hot air balloons watched from above. To ease the congestion, a dirigible docking tower was also added, so that the giant airships wouldn't need to occupy a berth in the harbor.
    The entire Minecraft time-lapse was recorded using the ReplayMod and the daylight cycle was edited using Bob Lite. The cinematic at the end uses Patrix Resource Pack and BSL Shaders.
    Some fun statistics:
    100+ Hours of gameplay footage was edited to make this 16-minute video.
    14,000+ Oak Fences make up the rigging on the ships and balloons.
    14,500+ Wool Blocks make up the sails and balloons.
    A special thank you to The Big Baron and Team Lyrah for sharing their creations which inspired several of the ships, to Naylorious for doing the initial grunt work on the dirigible, and BrokenPixelSK for their crane design.

    This is it. This is the video that's making me subscribe. It's a wonderful video, with absolute masterpieces of ships and design work. As a child, minecraft and ships were really huge for me. And now you've sent me back to those countless hours spent making my own little minecraft ships. This is a wonderful video and the shaders at the end truly wrap it all together. Thank you for sharing this with us.

      Is there a way we could get a tutorial for a few of these, at least the smaller ones? I would love to have a few of these ships on my own world

    Awesome video the builds look so cool!!! , why don't you use shaders in the entire video? doing that would greatly enhance your videos! (suggestion)

    • @Xendisabu
      @Xendisabu  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, when I build I'm on a multi-player server and the shaders give the distant chunks a choppy load. I like the fog effect for vanilla better as it is less distracting. The cinematic at the end is recorded from a world backup in single-player mode so that I can render a further distance and get rid of the chunky borders flashing in and out. The port needed a render distance of 42 chunks to look decent with shaders. I'll definitely consider using shaders for smaller builds on the server though!

    I am extremely impressed with your builds.. This is survival isn't it? Because I see that you're using scaffolding and that you have to light up everything and that you have a beacon.. I also only play in survival and build in survival. My question to you is where do you get your floor plans how do you figure out the mathematicals to wear you know when you get to the end of your build something is off and then you have to figure out a way to cover it up because you already put so much time until you're build? Thanks for the gothic church in the way you did it because I've been trying to figure out a way to build a gothic church but haven't been able to figure out the floor plan and with your build I was able to count the blocks between the columns so that I know where to put them in how to lay them out because I can never figure out the mathematicals of how to make my building not be messed up at the end. By far this is the best videos of Minecraft ever. Thank you so much for sharing.

      Thank you for the comments! I'm glad that you enjoy the videos and are able to take some ideas from them for your own builds. All the videos in the "City of Xen" series are built in survival on a multi-player server. But I do have a creative test world that I pre-plan parts of the builds on. Regarding inspiration, I look up floor plans and/or photos in a search engine and then do a basic outline based on the floor plan first to see if I like how it will work out. For larger builds, keeping walls thick at the base allows for more details to be added. If you take a look at the Grand Library video, you can see that I start with lots of space between the walls on the first floor and then work my way up until the walls are only a few blocks thick on the top floor.

      @@Xendisabu wow thanks for the info..I have watched everything I could possibly watch on Gothic churches I've learned so much..I have been playing Minecraft since it came out.When you did the gothic church and the way you did it a couple blocks off the ground to where you don't have to even out the ground that blew my mind.It never cross my mind until I seen you do it that way. You saved me tons of work I could only imagine all the blocks you have broken.I play on Xbox so I don't get to join servers..Bummer I have watched a lot of videos on Minecraft by far I'm telling you this is the best I've ever seen..I am excited to see how your city of Xen turns out.

      Yes, all of the builds in the "City of Xen" series are on the same world. Depending on the camera angle, you can sometimes see other nearby builds that also have time lapse videos of their own in the background.
