I’m getting ready to avocado dye some papers, so I checked into You Tube University and started my search - I will say that your video so far is my favorite 😍. It’s clear and well done, and you even went the extra mile to show the difference between just the skins and just the pits. I missed the giveaway, but I’m a winner anyway because I learned a lot from your video and now I’m a subscriber 🥰 and I’m going to check out some of your other videos! Thanks for this!
Go girl! I'm so glad I found your video, I am new to paper craft and very overwhelmed to say the least ,with all the different things that go into JJ's, it's like where do I start???!
Yeah it can totally be overwhelming! My first journals were soooo simple and basic and I think that really helped me learn. Also I try to make it a rule to create more then I consume. When I watch too many How To videos I get overwhelmed.
I just bought your folder pocket and I love it! I love your simple elegance. I too love the avo dyed paper colors. I use multiple cookie sheets to dry it and when the papers done and cookie sheets still hot I put them on top of the papers and it helps flatten them.
Your tutorial is the best I have found for avocado dyed paper. I have tried other tutorials in the past but the results were disappointing. After following your one I got nice pink paper, thank you so much!
If you dry the papers in a hot sun they get darker quicker too. Fun if you use lace or another pattern as a resist and the sun changes the background around the shape.
That's good to know! That'd be nice to just leave them out and not have to worry about them getting burned. Do you have a table or flat surface outside or do you hang them? I'd like to try that but don't really have anywhere to put them outside
Great video... how timely for me... was wanting to research this but was putting it into the future... thanks for doing this ....JUST FOR ME...LOL...LOL... great work! Those are delicious!
This is the first ever avocado dyed paper tutorial I have seen. You are a fantastic tutor and you have inspired me to give this a try. I hope to watch many more of your videos from now. Thank you Kate.
Thanks. I was just air drying but now I will try the oven method as well, I had not used the oven thinking it would make them more brown. Good suggestion on washing . Great video.
Thank you for showing us how to do this project. Since there is acid in coffee dyed papers, I would still love to see how to neaturlize the papers. Thanks again!
I haven't tried this yet; I'm still at the avocado-gathering stage. Thanks for showing all the different methods and papers. I know it will save me a lot of grief when I dye my first batch.
Thanks SO MUCH, Kathy!!! I will try that! I've never imagined that 🥑 could turn paper pink colors! It sounds crazy. But after watching your video I just fell in love with it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥑🥑🥑😍🌹
My first avocado dyed paper came out beautiful. The second and third try, not so much! And I just came across your video. When you scrubbed inside of avocado, I thought whhhat! So next time I’m following your directions, thank you😀
Thank you so much for showing the difference in color between the pit and skin of the avocado. I like the pit color better and will be trying this today. 😊
Great job on teaching this method. I have coffee dyed but I’d like to see your version. Love so much your style and cute personality. Thanks for the smiles!
@@KateMower - I took it to a whole 'nother level! I dried the paper in full sunshine (which deepened the pink colour) and laid lace on top - im very pleased!
Thanks for this-I have tried avocado dying several times, with very uneven results. Sometimes I get a gorgeous pink, but I have also got a pinkish brown. I bet it had something to do with how much skin versus pit I had, and I did not put them in the oven but only air dried them. Your experiments were really informative. Also, kudos to your amazing cameraman!
That was fun!!! Next time guacamole sounds good, I'll have to avocado dye some paper as well...Thank you for sharing your technique with us :-) A wonderful day to all!!!!
THANKS! I tried this with the information I had at the time and was really disappointed with the results. I can see from your video where I went wrong and I'm now looking forward to trying again. Your results were really pretty.
You are the most fun! I love your videos, you make me smile and laugh. I have done some silly things (boo-boos) in all my journal making endeavors. You have some pretty neat ideas. Keep them coming! I also watch your mother-in-law. Thanks for sharing!
Great video, as always😉, but I don't feel the need to start avocado dying paper just now. However, I'll know which video to refer to when I do! Thanks for this! Hugs from Germany🤗♥️
This was my first time ever watching how to avocado dye paper and I was memorized. Thank you so much ! Loved your video and those papers are so pretty 🌷
Wow! I didn't know so much work and time went into dyeing with avacados. These are wonderful. Thanks for showing us how you do this! See you soon, Bestie.
Thank you. You covered just about everything I can think of. Nice crunchy papers! I was wondering if we had to use the oven. I have some skins I was saving to do this. I didn't realize you use the pits too! I was going to plant them! It's too hot to use the oven right now. I may put them in the sun. I may just use the pink die I purchased!! I may do both! Thank you. I learned a lot.
Hiya Kate new subscriber, followed you from Betty’s Channel after seeing the Flippy Foldy Thingy. Awesome tutorial video, I really enjoyed seeing the results of your experiments! Many thanks to your Dad for the great filming too!
Fun video demystifying avocado dying of paper. 😉😁

After watching your video I know I can do it! thank you Kate Mower!
Yay! You can do it!
Wow pink

Love the avocado dyed paper! It just amazes me how a green skin makes pink dye!
I know right? It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm so glad it does!

@@KateMower I have a tiled patio and outside table so I laid them flat. Just have to watch they don't blow away when they get dry lol
This was so very informative and enjoyable to watch. Thank yo so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great tutorial. I have never tried dying paper but you made it look easy. I just don’t know if I have the patience.
Thanks! It does take a bit of time, but once you get the hang of it it's easy to multi task and do laundry/house cleaning while you're doing it.
