  • Most of the time I go fishing just to go fishing, to be in the moment and usually the river. Sometimes though I go as it's the place where I have to completely focus so I can leave my first world problems behind. This trip was for that very reason and the river demanding all my attention.

I've often said that fishing should be available on the NHS. I would like to prescribe myself a two week course of bonefish in the Seychelles please👍

Thanks again for taking us along.
My little brookies often drop through the net as well.
Yes, time on a stream is important for mental health.
Smiling about the camera - done that with my phone and it was two days before I could address the issue.

nice one Paul and I know the feeling with the big one jumping and in the wrong place , my last two sessions blanked and never saw a rise save one which came into the air like a Polaris missile 60yds from me in what I call the long pool and it's mega deep , it was in the 4-5lb region and I'm sure it was having a laugh but that's how it goes. Sew up and superglue pockets lol. ATB Mike

I did similar last week. Put rod and bag into car boot . . . where’s the net ? 20 minutes up river in the grass. I think they’re called “ Senior moments” Paul.

We’ll you’re certainly not an idiot or daft but let’s get on with some fishin’. Thanks for sharing from a fellow older man who is using fly fishing to help ease the pain of losing my wife. Tight lines my friend.

It's the journey, not the destination. The Gods do not deduct from a man's allotted time the time spent fishing.
