@@IainSB this is my first season on the tweed brilliant I have had a salmon small broonie and a greyling so far wee mixed bag seen a beautiful salmon leap the nigjt up the Lees on the corner what a beaut
That was the one that bumped you the day before!! You had plenty of water to deal with for sure and that line you had on served you well. Good to see you out again. TLs 😎👍👍
The River Tweed has dropped a bit Mr Mazo and fish are getting caught so its going to be awkward casting with my fingers crossed on my next trip Cheers Iain 🥃
Thanks again Iain. You'r a most sincere, down to earth angler who obviously enjoys the whole spectrum of sights, sounds and smells everywhere you fish. An hour on the river with you is an hour well spent. Your results reflect my reality. If I Caught fish at will I'd soon give up fishing. For me and many others, anticipation is the big draw and will always be thus. Looking out for the next video.
You are a very astute angler Stevie . we seem to be on the same wavelength an Ill bet that you get as many salmon take the fly when you are looking around at the wild life or everything else that is interesting and sometimes get the fright of your life when a salmon tries to pull the rod out of your hand . it always looks like my attention is focused on the area my fly is at but in reality my head is often turned away looking at other things when the camera is pointing down stream . Cheers Iain 🥃
Hi Iain. I like Cornhill. I once had three out in an afternoon from the Bags, Doddo Burn and Baby Hut Pool. In November and all minters. A long time ago and that won't happen again thats for sure. Mind you dont pull a muscle rowing that boat.
Hello Iain. You couldn’t of picked a better day to go after the salmon , water perfect weather perfect but no reward except that little pull you had. Once again great viewing Iain and very enjoyable, fingers crossed for the next time. ATb . Steve. 🍷
There were a few fish going through Steve. I saw some and the water dropped a bit the next day and Brendan has had fish every day since I was there and today he had 4 . right place right time. I still had a great day out fishing rather than catching Next time 🤞. Cheers Iain 🥃
We have Sand Martins on the Coquet in Northumberland saw them Friday. I guess they arrive earlier than the House Martins/Swifts etc. Tight lines for 2023.
I think that the sand martins have arrived about a week earlier than usual this year and in the North its usually 2nd week in April The Tweed seems to have salmon come into the river in greater numbers on Saturday as the beats have recorded good numbers so I am looking forward to getting out again ...... see the wild life and hopefully connect Cheers Iain 🥃
Sand Martins arrived back on the Nith at least 3 weeks ago, they are always the first back, followed by House Martins and Swallows which usually arrive back mid April, give or take. Swifts are always the last back, early May would be when they'd be seen here in SW Scotland.
Ah Its getting me thinking and checking the tube flies. Will be on Lees on the other side next week...chance for the Tosh and Monkey to have a swim...and those spring days however hard are welcome Will also have the trout rod ready!! Safe wading and .. patient hoping !!
there has been a lot of fish came in the day after I fished Brendan has had fish each day since I was out and today he had 4 tight lines. Cheers Iain 🥃
hope to see more of your videos this year iain i missed lots of last season aswell heres hoping theres many large ones for us this season 😎 all the best
As always get to the river full of anticipation . aways go home tired and a lot of the time fish- less but always enjoyed the company and my day at the river. I hope your season is a good one Keep your rod bent Cheers Iain🥃
There was a lot of water going through Robert . The beat fishes best when it's a bit lower ....... you may have noticed at the video end that Brendan caught a fish on Saturday he sent me a message saying he had another on Monday ........ I was just there a day to early Cheers Iain 🥃
Brendan has had fish ever day since I was there and today he had 4 fish now that the river has settled there seems to be a lot getting caught . never had a shot at Harling ..... I enjoy the casting Cheers Iain 🥃
I hope that you can get it replaced Simon as many rod companies try to have good customer relations . Brendan has had fish each day since I was there and today he had 4 . the water seems to have settled and bringing in fresh fish Cheers Iain
I have a few 1540 reels and there is no better sound when a fish takes Tam I have had to change the pawls a few times . they have good clean at the end of the season and they are ready for the next one Cheers again 🥃

Didn’t you see the fish as you came down the stairs in front of the rocks?, I think you were casting too far out in the beginning, just my thoughts. This is coming from a guy stuck in the office and dreaming of fishing 😀
Hi Brad I sometimes could kick myself when I look at the days recordings and see the things I have missed . when I first started adding my days out to RUclips I only edited videos that showed catching and I was prompted by guys that couldn't get out or never had the time to add all my trips to rivers warts and all . I am no professional or profess to be . Just an angler that enjoys fishing and now has the time to edit and add my trips and add them to RUclips I hope that you can see them as enjoyable trips rather than anything that is instructive . I know that you are not nitpicking and hope that one day you have the time to spend on the river bank as much as I am ....... and tight lines when you get there all the very best Cheers Iain. 🥃
I agree and bugger this 5pm finish, best time can be an hour before dark, especially paying for, travel costs, accommodation, big beat prices and Gillie Tips, many beats on the Tay System have not had a fish yet and only a couple of fish of the Loch.. I never even took my season permit on the River Forth Systems this year its just depressing how little Salmon are running that system now, empty pools. Ah well at least the scenery is good.
the pound in our pocket doesn't by the same amount of food so the money we have left has to be spread about to get the best value for money fishing . I am fortunate being a member of a good angling club and having friends that invite me when there is a space Cheers Iain 🥃
@@IainSB I think there's more spaces now with people not paying daft money for empty pools anglers are wising up to these rip off merchants but that's my opinion

Thanks Jock The lees have had a few fish so far this year . I hope that you are getting a share of them 🎣🎣. Cheers Iain 🥃
