I know you commented 6 years ago, but I've only just found British comedy shows/stand up, and I love it! The audience and comedians understand it's a JOKE!!!!!!!! They can not only laugh at others, but laugh at themselves, which is the point. Wish more of us Americans stopped trying to see the offensive side and just understand that there's such a thing as sarcasm :)
@luludevreeze Just to elaborate on what other people have been saying..The lad was in hysterics himself, there's no real ill will in a joke. Its the same in normal conversation, you mercilessly take the piss out of your friends and it's taken as a back handed sign of respect.
