Love it! My wife and I have been to Maya Chan, and we absolutely love it! We celebrated our anniversary there, and they were so accommodating...they personalized a sign at our beach cabana location, they gave us a Top Hat & Tiara to wear for the day (ha ha), they gave us an anniversary cake, constantly refreshed us with drinky drinks, etc. Like you, it was not crowded at all, and YES, it felt so AUTHENTIC! The wait staff even brought drinks to us while we were out in the water on floating mats. We were so pampered! We both enjoyed massages by the "tiny" masseuse as well...and yes, she had very strong hands. The only thing we did not like was having to head back to the ship, which was probably a first for us. Usually by the end of a port day, we are ready to get back to that ship...but with Maya Chan...we wanted our day to last a lot longer. I look forward to seeing Part Dos of your Maya Chan vlog. Thanks!
Watching this is making me miss Costa Maya! This was my first stop on my first cruise in 2018. I can't wait until we book our next one. Thank you for taking us along! :D
Of course! We had such a great day. We've enjoyed the port area a few times, but we were super excited to find a great hangout spot outside this time!! :D
Oh nice! Yes, I think they can only hold about 100 folks at Maya Chan, but it was a super relaxing day. We've heard there are some other nice beach clubs around the area too. That's awesome!!
We'd never thought to look for a cool all-inclusive hangout outside of Cozumel... so glad we found Maya Chan! And yes, the dogs are always a bonus, ha ha... :P
Had tacos Fridaynite dinner! My Man upset were cancelling our October Europe cruise, but we used Cruise Next certificate for deposit. So no loss. Enjoying MSC with you.
Watching this video now and just realized I am on the ncl getaway that is docked right next to your ship lol. This was our last cruise :( but I having a great time watching and cruising vicariously through you! Thanks for the great VLOGS!
Thanks for the video. I told my wife about the cost and what's included, and she said sold! :) We'll definitely look into in for our next cruise adventure.
Love this vlog! Im going back and watching till I cruise in Octoboer '22. DING DONG What is the typical/expected tipping practice when at an all inclusive excursion/resort?
If you’re talking Maya Chan specifically, they ask that you not tip anyone individually. They prefer that you leave any gratuity in the box by the exit at the end of your day!! :D
Similar. We usually wait until we’re getting ready to leave, then tip the beach staff and the pool staff separately, based on how much time we spent at each location.
It is! The pier is quite long, then you have to navigate to the taxi exit, which they don't make super easy, ha ha... it's about 3/4 mile all told from ship to shuttle, but it felt longer!! :P
Hey y’all! Costa Maya has been hit or miss for me. Last year when I was there, they had the seaweed “issue”. However, MC looks nice. I will put it on my list. Good stuff!!!
Great video as usual with the two of you! 👍🏽 How do you guys reserve a spot there? I found the beach club website but is mostly a story of the owners and some updates, nothing to make a reservation or see the options. Thank you
Our ship was in from 11am-7pm that day, and from what I remember we hopped right off to catch the shuttle over. I'd say we were there by about noon that day.
I just love your little area where you can sit and relax. Did you have to specify that you wanted a secluded area? I see other sitting areas that aren’t as secluded.
How long would you say it took you time wise from time you were off ship till you were at resort. Or ship is in port from 1-7 trying to decide if it is worth it?
I would say to allow at least 15 or 20 minutes to walk through the port and out the back gate, and then it was about a 30 minute ride over. So maybe round up and say two hours total for transportation and walking time.
@@parodeejay thank you very much! Watching this video again with my wife now! I hope you have recovered and are doing well! Also loved your video on home test kits!
I think in all her years of snorkeling, Dee has only been stung maybe three times, which is amazing. But yeah, we weren't quite sure what those thing were in the water at Maya Chan, but I think we looked them up when we got home and they weren't actually jellyfish. Whew!! :P
Got it! Nice job, like to try to make one of those games. We spent our only day there at the Mayan Ruins and Port so I was curious what else there was to do. What did Dee think about the snorkeling overall? This looks like a good deal. How long a drive from the port? I can't seem to find the cost? 🐸
I forget that we covered some of the specifics when we got back to the ship, which is tomorrow's video, hah. I believe it was about a 20 minutes cab ride, and it's $59/pp which includes the taxi fare. Snorkeling was a bit of a bust, but maybe we were just there on an off day, ha ha...
So we will be in Costa Maya in April but we arrive at 1 and leave at 8. They close at 7pm. Im tempted to book Maya Chan for the few hourswe will be there 🤔
I forget we didn't talk about the cost until we got back to the cabin in tomorrow's video, ha ha... it's $59/pp which includes your taxi ride there and back!! :D
Where do you keep your wallet when you are at beaches like this? We’ve been to mr sanchos several times and felt ok leaving them at our table in a backpack but not sure about other places.
We have some small travel locks that we can use to secure backpack straps and zippers together and to secure the backpacks themselves to some sort of awkward object just as a small deterrent. But I know some folks use the SafeGo or the KYSS Bag, and someone mentioned the Travelon Anti-Theft Backpack but we haven't checked out any of those fancy options yet. :P
ParoDeeJay I appreciate your answer. Unless we are with another couple we always feel a little strange leaving our stuff at our chairs/table. That’s a great idea.
This beach reminds me of the beach that is 5 minutes fro my house called South Beach here in Nassau. It experiences significant low tides throughout the day and you can walk out to sandbars. It’s not my favorite type of beaching.
This definitely seemed like less of a landscaped touristy beach, but the service was so fantastic and the place was so charming that we didn't mind a bit, ha ha... :P
Nope, we're still releasing vlogs from our February 2020 cruises. We put the date in the corner of each video, and in the description, just so folks can keep track!! :P
Those gelatinous things on the sea bed may be the egg sacs of Lugworms. Female lugworms lay thousands of eggs in gelatinous sacs with one end embedded in the sand, and the other end left to float freely. At least that's what they look like to me.
Hi Guys! Thanks so much for your Video! Do you all have contact with Mark? We have our Honeymoon trip set down Arrival in Costa Maya on the 11th of January on the Carnival Dream. We tried to reserve, but he is telling us it is not possible 3 ships in and out that day. I told him that it would be a surprise for my fiance. We would get 2 hour massages, hang out, and leave early if need be.
It's a very natural beach and the snorkeling wasn't great the day we were there, but we had a great day overall! We're plotting a return in November if the Mardi Gras sails on time!! :D

I’m sold! Sign me up like right now🥂
Great vlog as always. They are keeping me sane but making me wish i was cruising

Jay I think you and Dee should swap one day where u do water mode and get that great fish footage and Dee does water spins and films while u snorkel
Oh mercy! Jay filming nearsighted blobs in the water while Dee chats, ha ha... :P
ParoDeeJay hahaha love the idea 👍🏾
Amen to that !!!😂
I just LOVE your vids. Your channel makes me feel like I'm on vaca with you both. Follower for life!!! Thanks!!
Thanks so much! Glad to have you along for our craziness!! :D
We were unable to reserve at Maya Chan the day before you because it was full. We ended up at Almaplena resort. Similar to Maya Chan. Wonderful day!
Oh nice! Yes, I think they can only hold about 100 folks at Maya Chan, but it was a super relaxing day. We've heard there are some other nice beach clubs around the area too. That's awesome!!
Cozy little area in Costa Maya oh yes Snorkeling with colorful Fish
We have never gone outside the port either but after seeing your video, we will definitely go to Maya Chan Beach on our next visit. It looks amazing!
We had such a fantastic day, and the folks there were beyond amazing!! :D
Gosh! It looks like you had the place pretty much to yourselves! Wow! And that taco bar looked amazing. Beach doggies are a bonus in Mexico.😁👍
We'd never thought to look for a cool all-inclusive hangout outside of Cozumel... so glad we found Maya Chan! And yes, the dogs are always a bonus, ha ha... :P
OMG that was beautiful, can’t wait to visit Costa Maya!
We were glad we finally ventured outside the port and found some beach action this trip!! :D
Love the weathered wood chairs and tables , bamboo etc , just real beach look my kinda place
Oh yea can never get enough cocktails, 😎😎🥰🥰
It had such a cool, rustic feel. Just like a funky little beach bar, which is exactly what it was, hah. Love it!! :D
Loved this video! We are officially booked for Maya Chan when we cruise on Mardi Gras March 19, 2022 🤞🏽 So excited!
Awesome! We were supposed to have gone back there a couple of times already since then, but that didn't quite work out!!
That looks like so much fun. I can’t wait to visit!
Such a fantastic, relaxing day!! :D
Looks like a lot of fun. You had us at dogs, because we don't get enough dog at home. Will definitely consider going here the next time in Costa Maya.
Yes, you definitely need more dog in your life!! :P
Absolutely calm and beautiful place!!!!
We had such a relaxing day! Love those cabanas!! :D
Always wanted to go to Maya Chan. Will definitely check it out next time I'm there.
Such a cool experience and super relaxing. We loved it, and plan to be back in November!! :D
Cool I like it we are going to Costa Maya in November cant wait

You found a wild Jay! You should show us your hunting techniques Dee ! 😜
Usually just put some ribs or pizza out as bait, and you're good to go!! :P
Looks like a nice quiet day.
Super quiet and relaxing! Loved it!! :D
Thanks for the video. I told my wife about the cost and what's included, and she said sold! :) We'll definitely look into in for our next cruise adventure.

Must go there. Hopefully be fully open in Spring 2023.

How love ng is that walk from the ship to the transportation? Looked like a very long walk

We love your videos! We will be going to Costa Mya in December if all goes well.
Thanks so much! Fingers crossed we can all get back on the high seas again soon!! :D
What time did you get there to maya chan? our boat doesn't dock until 1pm. Wondered what time you said the other people cleared out.
Our ship was in from 11am-7pm that day, and from what I remember we hopped right off to catch the shuttle over. I'd say we were there by about noon that day.
Great viedo. Jay,my son can relate to the height issue he's 6'7"
Oh wow... I feel his pain, ha ha... #TallFolkProblems :P
I love Maya Chan!!
Such an amazing day with fantastic service and great food. Woohoo!! :D
They keep Dee's everywhere, but you can only find a Jay in the bushes in Costa Mays :)
Jay of the Jungle!! :P
I just love your little area where you can sit and relax. Did you have to specify that you wanted a secluded area? I see other sitting areas that aren’t as secluded.
Nope, we just showed up and boom. Awesome cabana, ha ha... most of them looked pretty cozy!! :D

Oh wow, we haven’t! That sounds like a terrifyingly good time!! :P
Yup, we're doing Maya Chan next time we go to Costa Maya! We did Chaccoben last time
Oh nice! We haven't done any ruins from Costa Maya. But we definitely enjoyed our day of relaxation!! :D

Sea floor things - Maybe Sea urchin gastrula or starfish gastrula
Ah maybe! They were interesting!! :D

What where the blobs?
This looks nice, what the cost?
Ah, I don't think we mentioned the cost until our room recap in the second part, hah. It was $59/pp which included taxi fare both ways. Whoop!!
I think it's about $60/person - 18+ yo (cheaper for younger), which includes EVERYTHING, even transportation from and to the port location.
Looks great! Maybe we will book it!
Did you book it through the ship or directly with the tour company?
Directly. They can be found at costamayabeachresort.com
