    Another great update from these two! The entire series on the Prima has been amazing....but I would have to say my favorite part is the 11:14 mark in this video!! Lol. Thanks for going back and finding it. It was great chatting with you both!

    Thanks for the great video ... lots of good info. Maya Chan looks terrific ... at least as regards the food, drink, and accomodations. BUT, this is the third Maya Chan video I've watched, and in each, the water looks brownish -- not at all that beautiful crystal bright blue-green that one envisions for a beach day in paradise. Does it have that brownish tint when you're there in person? Please comment about this and how much you think that detracts for the Maya Chan experience, if at all. Thanks again.

      Thanks for watching!
      Most of the beaches in that region have brown seagrass in the shallow waters that go out quite far off shore. So, what you're seeing isn't brown water so much, as clear water with brown seagrass. In fact, in some videos I take one of the clear kayaks out (available to all guests at Maya Chan) and you can see this that way, too.
      To me, it doesn't matter - I go to Maya Chan for the experience and relaxation, not for the beaches. To be honest, I don't know there are any beaches in that area that will give you that "wow!" feeling. If that's your quest (which is totally understandable), and you're on a Western Caribbean sailing, then I'd recommend seven mile beach in Grand Cayman (read about their busses at the post below) or some place on the east side of Cozumel. The resorts are closer to the west side, but the east side is largely undeveloped, very rustic, and has outstanding beaches.
      If, however, you are looking for the ultimate relaxation spot, with great food and service, a peaceful atmosphere, and you want to see why Maya Chan is constantly full with repeat guests, then that's you can't go wrong with Maya Chan.

      She seems to be a bit polarizing, but we really enjoyed her. Going to sail on the Aqua shortly after she arrives in Florida to see what improvements and changes they've made.

    Love your videos. The information is very helpful. We planned a cruise last September 22 for this Jan 24. It was on Virgin. We have a group of 10 going for my wife's 50th birthday. We are first time cruisers. We booked Maya Chan and were very excited.....Then last month Virgin canceled the cruise. So we have rescheduled for the same week on Sky Princess and we still get to go to Maya Chan. Really looking forward to it. Costa Maya is one of 4 ports we will hit. Thanks again for all the info!

      Thanks for watching! We were back at Maya Chan in early Sept and it's even more wonderful as they made some nice little improvements that you can see in one of my Celebration vlogs. Do tell the folks there we say hello!
      We also had a sailing cancelled on VV (Brilliant in April, now on Valiant). We sailed Sky Princess over US thanksgiving a couple years ago and really enjoyed the experience - very relaxed. You can find our blog, room tour, and more from that sailing linked below*.
      If you're looking to use that VV credit for a sailing in April we've got a group going on Valiant to the Eastern Caribbean! VirginVoyagesGroupCruise.com for info :-)

    Great video, hows the weather in January? Going next week🤞

    • @CruiseHabit
      @CruiseHabit  Год назад

      It can vary a lot. Usually quite warm, but you never know. For example, xmas of 2022 was the coldest cruise I've been on. Cold and rainy the whole time. This year, it was warm and pleasant throughout most of the area.
      We're sailing on Scarlet Lady next week (leaving Port Miami Jan 6) so 🤞 for both of us.

    The beach water looks dirty. No pretty clear water at this port?

      Most of the area (Costa Maya in general) has shallow water with sea grass that causes the brownish look. The water itself is generally quite clear and clean.
