  • After spending a month in Vietnam I flew to Cambodia, printed out a Vietnamese E-Visa, arranged return travel to Ho Chi Min City, a COVID-19 test and then headed for the border, crossing the Mekong River and making a couple of stops along the way. Finally, my papers were inspected by Vietnamese officials tasked with determining my suitability for entry into their country. Correct as of April 30, 2022.
    PLEASE NOTE: As of May 15, 2002 a PCR or RAT test is no longer required to enter Vietnam.I

    The rat test was $45 in pp? It's only $10 at the Bavet border.

      Yes, $45 in PP, some places are even more expensive. I don't mind helping the Cambodian economy.

    Also wasn't the $120 bus ride a little pricy. Maybe take a bus to Bavet , cross the border and take a bus to Saigon . Should be much cheaper.

      No, $60 each way on the bus whether to Bavet or PP. I am sure the price will drop further soon enough.

    Hello. I have a question related to the visa. You said after 1m in Vietnam, you travelled outside and got back in. How long is your visa before leaving Vietnam? What type was it? Is there any lapse in between before applying for the e-visa to get back in Vietnam again?

      I had been in Vietnam for 30 days then went to Cambodia before returning to Vietnam. As I u derstand it visas cannot overlap but it is possible to get a new visa for the day you leave VN - that means that you can cross the border into a neighbouring country then turn around and present your new (or next) visa.

      I had a 30 day e-visa. I have heard of someone applying for 3 consecutive e-visas (to cover period of 3 months but this necessitates a monthly border run in which you get stamped out and then stamped back into VN. You leave VN, enter another country, exit that country, then re-enter VN. But you can stay overnight or longer in the other country if you have a hankering to explore.

      @@martinrumsby Thank you so much. Is your leaving port same with entering port?

    • @martinrumsby
      @martinrumsby  2 года назад

      @@Tu-AnhNguyen no, it does not have to be. When you fill out your e-visa application it will ask which port you will enter through and then, separately, which port you will exit through. Entry port cannot be changed.

      @@martinrumsby so basically what ports I am entering and leaving just need to be the same with what I apply for, correct?

      Different strokes for different folks ... but OK, I'll produce a short one sometyime in the next week. Crisp, concise & colourless. I provide plenty of context. For me, it was important to show that I was in Vietnam on a 30n day visa then went to Cambodia to renew it. Most of the answers you will require are in Part Two. I show it. I don't say it and these two videos are a response to a lot of idle and false talk I herad on the matter. Of course, you could go to the likes of Trump or Fox News but it would not get you too far. Thanks for the comments. It is appreciated.
