    Video makers with vested interested only tell you what they want you to hear. On the downside: 8 months of hellish heat, even at night; disgusting rubbish everywhere; hopeless drivers with no respect for cyclists and walkers; noisy loud speakers and dogs, and very average cuisine. Lastly, the golden years of Cambodia arw over! Oh yes, against Thailand and Vietnam, most of the landscape is ordinary.

    Buddhism in cambodia is so great. Monk must be pureveg and live simple life without luxury. Most tibetan cultural monks are living luxury with wife or gf, eating meats, drinking alcohol in nepal. This kind of buddhism is not good. They must impress us. This comment is from the land of buddha Nepal south asia.

    A couple of corrections: - the train still terminates at Battambang, the last leg to the border town Poi Pet still hasn't been reopened (everyone takes a bus, but most people via Siem Reap). - If you go through an agent & are 55+, you only need to show that your landlord has registered you in the immigration app (an absolute must) & perhaps a photo. The 6 months ($170) & 12 months ($300) extensions are multiple entry, the 3 month ($90) & 1 month ($60) aren't. - Technically, there's no such thing as a "Retirement visa", it's an extension of stay of your "Ordinary (E-type) visa based on retirement. - Only decide you wish to move here after you have visited several times. It's not for everyone (moved here in 2019 after visiting since 2003 & am very happy here).

    • @martinrumsby
      @martinrumsby 2 года назад

      The traffic takes a little while to get used to. District 7 is quieter and more western. District 3 is noisier and more Vietnamese. Many westerners live on District 2. District 10 is good. It depends on what you like. There are also cool places along waterways on the outside of town. Take a look at Saigon - The World's Largest Village for walking down alleys to avoid traffic.

    • @martinrumsby

    Hello. I have a question related to the visa. You said after 1m in Vietnam, you travelled outside and got back in. How long is your visa before leaving Vietnam? What type was it? Is there any lapse in between before applying for the e-visa to get back in Vietnam again?

    • @martinrumsby
      @martinrumsby 2 года назад

      I had been in Vietnam for 30 days then went to Cambodia before returning to Vietnam. As I u derstand it visas cannot overlap but it is possible to get a new visa for the day you leave VN - that means that you can cross the border into a neighbouring country then turn around and present your new (or next) visa.

    • @martinrumsby
      @martinrumsby 2 года назад

      I had a 30 day e-visa. I have heard of someone applying for 3 consecutive e-visas (to cover period of 3 months but this necessitates a monthly border run in which you get stamped out and then stamped back into VN. You leave VN, enter another country, exit that country, then re-enter VN. But you can stay overnight or longer in the other country if you have a hankering to explore.

    • @Tu-AnhNguyen

    • @martinrumsby
      @martinrumsby 2 года назад

      @@Tu-AnhNguyen no, it does not have to be. When you fill out your e-visa application it will ask which port you will enter through and then, separately, which port you will exit through. Entry port cannot be changed.

    • @Tu-AnhNguyen

      @@martinrumsby so basically what ports I am entering and leaving just need to be the same with what I apply for, correct?
