      @@LSxMotorsports2021 what tranny pan do you have, also is it a deep pan? Trying to find one that has a drain plug and isn’t the deep pan for our Camaro.

    Thanks for posting this. I have to change mine in my 2002 3.8L and I hope it is as easy as you show here. I think the problem I might run into is that camaros just really just sit way too low to the ground to work on them without a lift. I'm going to see of I can just one aide of mine up and lean it over though to have more room.
    I only have a little over 87k miles on it bit the transmission started to slip last week when i was backing up. I did notice the fluid was low so I added some that was old that was removed from a Tahoe I had worked on. I assumed the fluid was new and the guy never used it, but as I was pouring it in it looked old😰. I topped it off bit the reverse never came back to working. I hope with mew fluid and filter, she goes back to working again. I'm really going to be mad if the transmission went out. I always change my oil ever 3k miles and was assuming they were keeping a check on the transmission fluid also, but I see now I need to stay away from Wal-Mart and just change my own fluids and keep a eye on it myself.

      Oh man sorry to hear your trans is slipping.A fluid and filter change probably won't help it now but it never hurts to try because you never know right.Just be very careful when you jack it up or put it on car ramps because many people have gotten hurt with cars dropping on them.I always try to use car ramps so that there is no way for the car to fall on me.I made my own ramps from scrap lumber I had lying around.I wish you the best and hope you can get some more life out of your transmission.Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

      @@LSxMotorsports2021 I have a set of ramps but if I drive it up onto them and the filter and fluid doesn't fix it then I have no clue how to get it off the ramps. If I get it up on the air far enough I was going to set it on some blocks with stands as a backup.

      OK that sounds good.Just be extra cautious no car is worth getting hurt over Hopefully you will be able to get a little more life out of it.Good luck!

      Thank God I looked at you video again. I thought i was going crazy or something. No matter how hard I was trying to get under the car, I just couldn't get under it enough and wasn't sure if i had short ramps or what. After watching you video again I see you went in from the front and reached back there. I will try that next. It is sitting high in the air but I guess they didn't expect people to work on their own cars without a car lift. Not I just have to get it done 😆.

    I go 1 step further with all my cars. After the pan is back on add 5 qts fluid then remove the cooler line at the radiator. Run it till the fluid stops coming out. Then put back together and fill to spec. The 5 qts flushes all the old fluid out of the converter. No point in adding new oil to the old stuff . Flushes out the cooler as well

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  2 месяца назад

      Yes that would be the best way to do a full flush. I change mine so often that the fluid never gets bad enough to do a full flush.

    Going to do mine this weekend as it appears to be leaking from the gasket. Is there a gasket/filter kit you recommend or is it all the same?

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  2 года назад

      I think they are mostly the same.I prefer the ones with the rubber gasket as opposed to the cork gasket.

    My 02 z28 automatic kicks back when i step on it you think this might resolve the issue? Ive had it for 2 months, also was told it might have a shift kit??

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  2 года назад

      I am not sure what you mean by kicks back.If you mean it down shifts aggressively when you give it throttle then that could be caused by a shift kit or an aggressive tune.If you mean the throttle kicks back on your foot that is the traction control on these cars.When traction control is on and it starts losing traction it will push the throttle back on your foot.As far as changing the trans fluid and filter,It is great to try and extend the life of the transmission but it rarely fixes anything that is already broken.

      You mean the one for the filter?If so just leave it in as long as it is not cracked.I usually leave them in.But if you think it is in bad shape just take your time getting it out.

    Hi what size is the drain pan you are using?

    • @LSxMotorsports2021
      @LSxMotorsports2021  Год назад +1

      Do you mean what transmission pan I am using?I have just the stock pan that I got from Summit Racing.It is the stock 4L60E pan with a drain plug in it.It cost like $25 or so and makes it much easier to drain without making a mess.

    Hey just wanted to get your opinion on an issue im having with mine 99 z28. i just had the engine rebuilt along with new clutch. after driving it daily a year later, the clutch seems to be tight and wont go into reverse. is the clutch hydrolic and i just need to replace fluids? any help would be appreciated, thanks!

      @LSxMotorsports2021  2 года назад

      Unfortunately I don't have much experience with manual Camaros.Hopefully someone will chime in and answer your question.But yes it is a hydrolic clutch.Check the fluid level.Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.Wish I could have been more help but while we are knowledgeable about alot of things with these cars we aren't mechanics by trade.Good luck with your car I am sure it is something that can easily be fixed.
