Great quality video for 1997. I can tell why this is one the best Blue Devil drum lines ever. I keep saying wow 😯 as this is so amazing and well done. The lines are so clean and this is just warmups as well. Thanks for posting.
In the vest? I believe that is David Glyde, the arranger. Not sure of his title at the time as far as caption head etc. I believe Roger Carter aged out in 1995.
This is before Burroughs joined the tenor line. I recall Chris saying that one of the cats had to dropped out and got the call right before tour. Pete Friedoff moved next to center when Burroughs joined.
There is also a snare player in this video that did not go on tour and was replaced last minute, second from the left. Don't know his name but I remember we got a new guy late and it made the two ends of the line tall and they put all the shorter dudes in the two gaps.
I really enjoyed BD's snares back in '99-'00, when they had the option to turn on the seconded snare, just under the top head. 🔥🖤🔥🖤🔥
NO DRUMLINE IN DCI CAN EVER STAND UP TO THESE BOYS...RAW FUCKING POWER!!!

10:24 Ayo? The McNutt Special with singles? Ooh!
Pretty cool to see them playing on 96’s drums before they got their new ones.
Those singles from the snares, my god!
Eby's left hand extension is insane.
Wait, is this early season ?! It says the concord pavilion and finals was in Orlando that 😱😳🥵
This is before the season.
7:00 "geez..."
Yeah, what he said
There's another geez at 4:26. I thought that spree was hard on snare, but they ripped through it on the quads!! GEEZ!!
GOAT 🐐
Damn
Why are these lines so clean
Idk. It might be 11 hours of chopping out everyday for three months. (Not including spring training)
Who was the guy working with Scott? Also, is that Rodger carter tapping?

Tim F ok thx
I believe the center snare was Nathan (I forgot his last name)
Sounds like Kevin Murray. I’ve heard that same “Cut!” made in disgust many times. . .
Nathan Eby ('96-'98) was center snare.
Roger carter tho

Jeff Menendez 1997 BD Q-5 has got to be towards the top of the best BD quadlines ever.
@@rbass311 it's up there, I thought 1996 was better, due to an all vet line from the 1995 Q5. But can't deny the notes these cats were playing.

@@HarlowRiggs Mitch Casados (96 & 99) was originally there in 97. After he left, Rueben Ripley replaced him.
Clean as hell. Hell yeah
