These book pillows were so fun to make for my grandsons! *PLEASE NOTE: the cutting chart for the 20" x 20" pillow has a mistake in it. The 2 back pieces should be cut at 21" not 19". I just wanted to let you know that I have made about 20 of 5hese pillows in the last month for my grands and friends. They are so easy to make so thanks for this 😊
@@margebowman4704 I bought this fabric on Etsy. If you do a search for children's fabrics, it may come up. Might be from Spoonflower? Thanks for watching!
What a great video with clear instructions! I can't wait to make one for my grand daughter this weekend! Other instructional videos I've seen use fusible fleece and/or interfacing for the pocket and for the front of the pillow. Does this one hold up okay without using this?
Hi Jann, I love your website and videos and have been watching for years. Is there a fabric amount listed in the sewing supplies list? I have all my supplies but did not see the fabric amounts listed. Thank you for all your fabulous tutorials. Adrienne
Thank you for explaining each step so clearly! I am a beginner and saw this pillow a few yrs back. I just bought a easy to use brother sewing machine. This is my first project for my four grandchildren. I don't know about different stitches though. Does it matter what stitch setting this project is on?
Love your video thank you planning on making one for my 7 year old grandson that's turning 7 on Saturday I had a question how much material would I need for the whole project would half a yard be big enough for the pillow
@@JannNewtonBeautyOver60 thank you so much. I did make my grandson one and he told his mother he was happy with all his presents but his book pillow was the best present he ever got and now he wants another one. And now I have my 3 grandson that's going to be turning 4 I have to make one for him. Thank you again for your video I will definitely be making more
The tutorial was wonderful except the fact that when I tried making the 20x20 pillow the measurements for the pattern is off. The pillow back pieces should be cut to the measurement of the pillow front. If you cut it to the pattern size on the video you will be off 2inches. The pillow backs should measure 21"x16". Then the pattern would be perfect! Video (Other than the measurements) is fantastic! Super easy to follow along and maintain.

My grandsons pillows have held up for two years. If you feel more comfortable, please do add fusible fleece or interlining for the pocket.
I think it might be a good idea to finish the seams with a serger so that it doesn’t fray when washed.
Yes, or if you don't have a serger, use pinking sheers.
Hi Jann, I love your website and videos and have been watching for years. Is there a fabric amount listed in the sewing supplies list? I have all my supplies but did not see the fabric amounts listed. Thank you for all your fabulous tutorials. Adrienne

Just a medium length stitch size is fine. Thanks for watching!
Love your video thank you planning on making one for my 7 year old grandson that's turning 7 on Saturday I had a question how much material would I need for the whole project would half a yard be big enough for the pillow
No, 1/2 yard is not enough fabric. I would say at least 3/4 of a yard.

Hi Jann, I love the pillow pocket fabric. Where can I find it to purchase?
I bought it on Etsy almost two years ago. I would do a search for children's fabric.
Jann, did you use cotton or polyester thread for this pillow?
Cotton, I believe.

Yep, you're right, I missed changing the 19" to 21" for the 20" pillow. I will note this mistake in a pinned comment.
Where did you get the material that has the animals on it?
Etsy. I did a search for juvenile animal print fabrics.
For a 18 inch pillow, how far in do you put each handle
Thanks for watching.
