So Here Is Why I HATED Every Second Of Kaede’s Execution: 1. She Wasn’t The Culprit 2. It Lasted 10 Hours, Not 8 3. They Made Her Play On The White Notes So We Know She Wasn’t The BLACKend
Actually I belive another reference within Der Flohwalzer is the fact that it 1) is a pretty easy song and 2) it is played on all black keys yet Kaede only steps on white ones, so they are basically mocking Kaede an expert Pianist by making her play a very basic song wrong
Number 2 is a headcanon, the clock sped up as her execution did, simple. It actually went on for around 4-10 minutes, as that's how long it takes to die via hanging.
@@kakeruyamaguchi2733 But you have to consider that she wasn’t even hanging the whole time, she got like one second of breath when her feet touched the piano, so it was a viscous cycle of almost dying but being able to breath for one second then repeating for who knows how long
Out of all of danganronpas’ executions, Keade’s execution hit a little bit different. It was way more dark than most other executions. Then after hearing the twist of that game, it made her execution even worse. To this day her execution leaves me feeling uneasy, and unnerved.
Exactly. Her trial came after literally the biggest twist in all of the 3 games. Since you play as her you instantly felt a connection with her. Seeing her be executed in such a way leaves you on edge for the rest of the game.
@@shahnaaustin302 🚨 MAJOR SPOILER ALERT 🚨 Exactly! And it’s all made even worse by the end of the game when the big twist takes place and you find out that she never actually killed Rantaro, and Monokuma/Tsumugi broke their own rules and executed her anyway. It was a real WTF moment!
@@bartender_billy6229 Yes. Kaede was COMPLETELY innocent. But, had they used the Reach For The Stars tune, you would have got it immediately that Kaede was innocent and it would have spoiled things. On a side-note, yes the tune is called Der Flohwalzer/The Flea's Waltz, but the cat on the title was to show the Japanese name, which is "Neko Funjatta" or "I Trod on the Cat!" (A very silly children's song put to the original German melody.)
What made celestia's death humilliating? Is the fact celestia wanted to die in a stake on fire But instead monokuma killed her with a basic death of being hit by car
I thought it was humiliating for her because burning by the steak is seen in the 1800s as more regal than the modern everyday getting hit by a car/truck. She sees herself as higher class than others so having a "normal"death and maybe a sudden hint of mortality makes this execution despair inducing for her
Kaede's execution just hits different. And the fact that we later learn that she was innocent all along makes it even worse. The most brutal execution of the series hands down.
I think what made Kaede's death so cruel and shocking was the initial shock factor we got from the whole protag switch. Not only was her execution so brutal and her wish at the end of the trial made it even more heartbreaking, but the fact she was innocent was just the cherry on top of the 'despair' sundae
@@Finally_in_reverse And what makes Kaede’s execution worse for me was that Shuichi was trying to save her And she was my favorite character. This is why I ship saimatsu. Edit: also, her execution was 10 hours long, so she had to sit through the agony for 10 hours 😢
@@soapycleaningproduct I don’t think the execution was 10 hours - the clock could just be for decoration, and if it were 10 hours, the audience (fans) would get bored and stop watching.
6:16 Most people don’t know this, Apparently this circle wasn’t for himself. But for his hamsters. A protection circle for his hamsters 😭😭 Love you gundhum 😔
@@junebugsssss I don’t think there has really been any official confirmation in that regard. It appears to be speculation that has become so popular it’s treated as fact. It’s a cute theory though.
Makes sense at least. Gundham knew he was going to die and went into the situation knowing full well he was going to die, since that was his whole gambit with robot dude. He also would have known by then that he was doomed.
Mikan if I recall correctly was s3xually abused, and the arm she was on represented her arm that she harmed. Technically she was being s3xually assaulted in her execution and forced into "ecstasy". Not very pleasant.
It’s also because in the game you can see what she dislikes, and for some reason she dislikes “oversized things.” And I’m guessing it also had to do with the trauma.
I always assumed that the injection caused her to hallucinate, and what we’re seeing is her nonsensical last moments that fuel her despair and thus cause her to become aroused (since that’s how she reacts to despair) So basically, her brain became overstimulated from whatever she was injected with. My guess is in reality, she was strapped down to that gurney, took the shot, then seized and died. No rockets in reality.
The case 1 of each game made me feel different emotions. Case 1: Despair (THE IRONY) Case 2: Laughter, due to the first victim death and the execution. Case 3: I cried.
@@shinrugal i doubt he wanted to die in agony staring at his handcuffs, Kirumi did not have to murder him like a complete sadist, good motive aside she's by far one of the most ruthless and immoral killers in the series, that doesn't mean she deserved it but i find her execution considerably less tragic than say, Peko or Mondo who actually had some remorse for what they did
Spoilers It's even worse because kirumi would have felt the most despair if she won the game and realized everything is fake, meaning her life she was trying to escape to was a lie and caused everyone to die
Fun fact Leon's execution is the only one in the series to get censored twice it was censored for the North American release of Danganronpa: Happy Havoc Trigger, and Danganronpa the Animation basically Leon's corpse reveal aka revealing his corpse to be mangled beyond recognition via getting pelted with 1000+ baseballs at high speeds was deemed to graphic to show in the North American release of the game, and to graphic for viewers of the anime to see.
Peko's execution is ironic in the sense that essentially Monokuma showed Peko and Fuyuhiko the same amount of mercy they showed Mahiru and Hiyoko proving the point of the case that revenge is just a vicious cycle. Even more ironically than that, even after they killed her so ruthlessly, Mahiru would still be the last person who would ever want that
And that's what made Mahiru's death so tragic. That case was specifically set to have her killed (like Fuyu is the most hotblooded of the cast and made it clear he WILL kill if given the chance; hearing Mahiru had a hand in his sister's death will of course cause him to seek her out). I felt like Monokuma did that because Mahiru was doing a good job in keeping everyone together (hell she is probably the only one that tolerated Nagito to an extent)
@@ethantay4630 nah with or without Fuyu interfering Peko was a dead woman walking considering Monokuma had complete control over her during the execution
Not so Fun-Fact: for Mondo’s execution to work, his lungs would have exploded, like full on EXPLODED, mainly because of the pressure that would be caused. That’s horrific
You know, the thing about Kirumi's execution that sticks with me is that the saw blades didn't turn off after she passed them. So once she fell back down, Kirumi would be forced to be cut up yet again
Actually if the blades did cut up Kirumi when she fell, then she would've severed limbs and body parts falling too. So when she fell, the blades probably disappeared so it can give her the space to fall to her death
@@lheeloriega418 True, plus, if Kirumi was fucking crazy enough, she COULD land on the flat side of one of the blades and parkour her way down, reducing the damage she would take from the fall to the floor.
What made gundam’s execution so humiliating for him is that he wanted to get taken to hell but instead monokuma took him to heaven shutting down his pride about being the evil ruler of this world
For me, I think Gonta's execution is the most heart breaking moment that I ever watched. Since Gonta is such an innocent man, who like knows nothing about the things around him aside from bugs, it figures that he is an awesome man to atleast hang out. The moment i learned the truth about him being the killer is just bizarre to the point that i even deny it of him being the killer. In the end, I just burst into tears and just cried for few mins. Also, I streamed this on YT so there is no way ill fake that sad moment. OH GONTA
The man was a gentleman, partially because if he wasn't gentle... yeah he could kill someone just giving a regular hug if he ain't careful... but he didn't deserve that set up...
for me, kirumis was the worst alongside kaede. kirumi was so blinded by victory and winning / escaping, that she thought a piece of PAPER was the exit. its mentally damaging to realise you did all that to get your fate
One of the reasons Monokuma is a great villain: He Kills off beloved characters but does it in a funny way, which makes it hard for us to hate him( except the execution in CH5 in Danganronpa 2 and the first chapter in V3, that was Unforgivable)
I agree. It's kinda laughable that he used a chopper to fire missiles at Teruteru. I also find the Mondo Butter funny, with Monokuma enjoying it with his breakfast afterwards.
I still despise Tsumugi for killing off Kaede, my favorite character, in such a brutal way. 1. Her execution lasted 10 hours, not 8 2. She didn’t even commit the murder, (the shot put hall missed Rantaro’s head) Tsumugi did 3. Shuichi even tried to save her at the beginning of her execution (this is why I ship Saimatsu) God, I feel bad for her to sit through all the pain.
Fun fact: Gundham didn’t wanna save himself he made a spell to protect his hamsters Another fun fact: Mikans execution is based off her backstory of herself Another another fun fact: Celeste wanted to be burned like a witch back in the day, that’s why she was gonna die like how a witch would be burned but instead she was killed by a fire truck as though car crashes are more modern deaths and she would hit true despair since she wanted to die like how someone would die back then
7:33 That is satisfying for me cause monokuma was controlled by junko, so it was technically junko bullying monomi, which makes this execution so satisfying cause monomi finally get some paypack on junko who bullied her for the entire game.
(Not so) Fun Fact: For Kaede's execution, if the clock in the back is to be believed, the execution lasted 8 HOURS, though I've also heard 10 from others. Every time she pressed one of the piano keys, she's given just a brief second of air, so the death is actually painfully slow. I've also heard speculation in the community that she didn't even actually die from strangulation, she was killed by the wounds she earned from the stoning of the Monokumas. Since we can't see her body in the end as it's covered in shadows, it's hard to properly tell. If literally any part of this is true, which I can't fact check since it's a game and the rules for these executions seem to change on a whim, it makes the ending twist of this game infinitely more shocking and horrific.
There's a smaller clock that didn't move. I think the big clock is just going crazy cause I also can't believe that the one, like 3 to 4 minute song was stretched that long or that the people had to stand there for that long without a single sign of exhaustion or complaint
OMG so true! Celestia died elegantly 😍💖 Oh how I love to have the guts to die like that 😂... I'd probably be screaming my ass off being slowly burned by that in real life hahahaha but I'm so envious of how she is capable of being elegantly composed and calm (like a total queen) when she's literally being roasted alive LOL 😂 Oh how I'd love to be able to do that... I don't want to look ugly screaming my ass off in the very last moments of my life. An ugly and painful screaming and crying face is the least that I want my friends to see and remember me with in the very last moment they see me 🤣
But then, as much of us know, her death *wasn't in the way she wanted* thanks to a *fire truck* coming out of nowhere and running her over like a bulldozer.
So the theory behind how junko survived the first parts of her execution was that as the ultimate analyst she anticipates everything. However the jamming of the final part for a brief second throws her off just as it then comes down on her.
@@spectrumscribble1498 Nope, she's just exceptional at analysing people, places, behaviours and forming plans/schemes. It probably explains why she gets bored all the time and why she enjoys messing up her own plans.
fun fact: according to the artbook, the victim of the 1st case was supposed to be yasuhiro while the culprit was hifumi, but since sayaka and leon were the bases of every character, the devs got so tired of seeing them that they killed them off in revenge.
Kirumi's death didn't hit me the same. On the one hand, it's tragic. The fact that she's voiced by Belldandy makes it sting. On the other hand, Kirumi was the only one in the whole series who had the sense to run.
welll....she did have a weird witch kink that she wanted to be burned alive, and then monokuma ruined that by making her die fast, (firetruck) she wanted it to be painful
@@finger_me_hard_daddy she wanted to die of the fire, because that’s apparently an “honor” and a “rare” death for witches. However, she got a “common” death. She wanted the fire
Those puppies, bunnies, and kittens at the end of the stampede were stated on the wiki to have been Gundham's past pets. This is the only execution in Danganronpa to have ever made me actually cry, because the ending was, in a beautiful and touching way, quite bittersweet.
Kaede was the best protagonist of all three games. She ACTUALLY had a personality rather than being generic male protagonist number 3. And she wasn't even guilty of the crime.
It's actually hinted that Kaede knew she was innocent of Rantaro's murder but she gave Shuichi a non-verbal signal for him to bring out the evidence that would suggest she killed Rantaro and ensure unfair execution cause she realized The Mastermind had rigged the trial to ensure either her or Shuichi gets successfully framed and unfairly executed so she chose to sacrifice herself or as it's known in chess play the Queen's Gambit in order to ensure that at the least Shuichi would complete the mission they started and it worked her Queen's Gambit in the end paid off and worked.
@@Pieruh Its about having no talent, there's a difference, honestly he had more personality that Kaede who while i love her was another "hey don't give up guys" type character
@@derrickhaggard Actually, quite the opposite. She believed that her shot put killed Rentaru. (she couldn't have known that the mastermind used another shot put and took away hers) She saw that the others were about to accuse Shuichi of it and she didn't want him to die because she tried to kill the mastermind (her true target). BWF
Junko's execution needs to be at 20! Just because it's multiple executions at once doesn't make it the best. A lot of fans felt cheated out of a proper execution for her since they just recycled it from the others earlier in the game. Kaede's execution checks all the boxes for brutality. On top of that her being executed in the first place resonated with every player.
I wouldn't put After School Lesson on this list because one of reason only it killing it's intended target is not canon Makoto survives via Alter Ego, and Kyoko only gets killed when put through it because her getting executed leads to the non-canon bad ending. As part of Junko's Ultimate Execution sure as she does get killed by it but it was the closing part of her punishment.
@@derrickhaggard yea but still you can't really talk about the Bad ending without mentioning Naegi cheating the execution and Monokuma's Trap didn't work thanks to Alter Ego sabotage
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR BOTH DANGANRONPA GAME/ANIME. Say what you want about the Danganronpa anime, but in my opinion Chiaki's death in the anime was more brutal to watch than the game version of her. She suffered both physically and emotionally. It is literally her death that sends the other students to become the ultimate despairs. The final part when she tries to get Izuru to remember who he was and that they were friends but he can't remember hurts to watch.
I agree, her death in the anime is way worse (brutal) than the game. In the game, she wanted to die in the end to sacrifice herself, and died instantly. But in the anime, she didn't die instantly, she got terribly hurt with spears and spikes, she kept fighting the pain and jeeped moving forwards, believing that she needed to go back to her friends, only for her to get impaled by spears when she finished the dungeon
In addition to what you and Mirza said, the fact that Chiaki's death is what turned the others into Ultimate Despairs, and that their desire to see her again was what caused her AI to be created, rather than a generic "person," makes it that much more poignant.
8:52 he cheated Monokuma out of a death twice. Remember in the beginning he was the one to defy Monokuma with violence and an exisal crushed him before Kaito could get punished?
Celestia and Junko were some of my favorite characters, I didn't want Celestia to die but I must admit that her death was great and kinda funny and Junko's execution is great too
@@beavisbunghole ☝️ *"NO, THAT'S WRONG!"* ☝️ - *Makoto Naegi* Nah, *Taeko Yasahiro* is Celeste's *REAL name.* However, she wanted to live the life of a *European aristocrat* (probably *West German* or *Austrian)* and die from being *burned alive at the stake* like a witch, as shown in her *BLATANTLY unlawful execution.*
fun fact: in the .5 second before the block kills junko her face goes from smiling to cold/bored face, People think this is to show how she became bored with her own executions like she did with the world (Junko can see the future so that is why the killing game happen)
Gundham’s execution isn’t called “Stampede,” it involves his name in it too, “Gundham Tanaka Stampede.” Edit: The reason why Gundham is one of the only people shown to go to the afterlife, is because he always said that he was from hell and he, “would fill hell with true hell!!!!!” Edit 2: Fun Fact, Leon’s right arm never left his neck because you can see the shadow still holding on. Edit 3: Fun Fact 2, based on Gonta’s strength, as show threw-out the game, he could have escaped his execution but didn’t, probably because he felt guilty. And the “Wild west theme,” is because he’s a wild person, after being raised in the wild.
As someone who just got into Danganronpa with the Switch release, this is an exciting video to see! I’ve fallen deep into the Danganronpa sinkhole, and I don’t think I’m getting out any time soon 😅 Look forward to watching! (And personally, Peko’s will always stand out as the most insane execution, followed by Chiaki’s!)
@Kxl3b_Art Awesome! I’m mostly a big fan of the twists/story and the characters, so that’s a lot to look through! It’d be awesome if they could be on Switch (my computer chair is ridiculously uncomfortable, and that’s why I haven’t beaten Despair Girls yet) but honestly, I’ll push through for more DR goodness!
If you ask me, for number the ultimate punishment wasn't as brutal as I thought it would be. For me it felt more like a kid going through a amusement park than a execution. So I thought of my own version of the ultimate punishment: Junko is strapped in a self driving motorcycle, and in front of her is a distance between her and the school. At the left and right side, baseball launchers peak out of abandoned buildings aiming for Junko. The motorcycle zoomed through the street with speed as the baseball launchers hit her with top speed as well. The motorcycle then suddenly stops sending Junko flying out of the seat, but as soon as she entered the building... CRASH! Turns out a fire truck was in the school, and not only was it covered in fire, but Junko found herself inside that burning truck. The doors closes, as a excavator bigger than the school slams onto the school with it's claw repeatedly. The result, the school turned into a cone, or more specifically, a cone for a rocket. In other words, there was a rocket under the school, and it launched into outer space. While in space a horseshoe magnet comes out of the rocket with a cord attached. After a short period of time as the cord extended enough, the rocket turned around and head to earth, but not without the magnet picking up something that will fall into the atmosphere, and that something was the crusher from the after school lessons execution, except for the fact that it's almost big as the Chelyabinsk meteor, and it has multiple spears of gunirs sticking out of it. The rocket makes it's crash landing, Junko comes out EXTREMELY BATTERED, and just when she's filled with joy that she had the most biggest, most awful, most despair inducing punishment that she dished out (ON TO HERSELF) A shadow forms below her feet. Filling her head with curiosity, she looked up, and before she could even get a chance to react... SPLAT! The Chelyabinsk sized crusher makes it's impact finally killing the ultimate despair diva. I like my version better because the execution is not only more coherent, but it also includes previous elements from the previous executions. But what are your thoughts? (And as a bonus question for all Danganronpa fans, can you spot the elements?)
@@kingtallzilla6919 No problem. Heck, I can already imagine how that would play out, with Junko excited that she survived the punishments her classmates went through before her curiosity makes her a cat and *(SPLAT!!)* She dead in an instant.
@@spectrumscribble1498 After all the crap she pulled throughout this franchise, it's a fitting end for her. Hope's peak academy is better off with a regular mean girl, than Junko Enoshima.
I think Kaede's execution was the most beautiful of all. But the most cruel execution was Kirumi's and Chiaki's (from s2 of anime). Both of them was given a hope to escape, but, as the hope was given, so it was taken away from girls. And, of course, a lot of physical traumas. Also, as I think, it was the most difficult executions for all, who watched it.
Note for the Insert Coin Execution: That was in a simulation, the Namani in that execution was a fake. The real Namani was killed way earlier before the events of Trigger Happy Havoc, in a more brutal way...
Mikan’s execution actually has an explanation to its weird execution, TW: mention of s3xual @buse Mikan has a background of s3xual @buse, which means this happens before going to Hope’s Peak, and she has Megalophobia, a fear of large/big things. The execution is what Mikan sees after the gigantic injection, when she’s on top of the large arm, and she is terrified because of her Megalophobia. When the arm is about to take off the motion of the arm, along with the way Mikan is sitting on it, causes her to have a reaction, a heart attack due to her @buse, while she is in the air. Every thing Mikan goes through in her execution, 1. A heart attack due to her past 2. Severe burns, since she in flying in the air really fast, maybe like 100 miles per hour, or more. 3. Freezing cold temperatures, she is breaking through the atmosphere 4. Suffocating
@@nate6519 but if it were true, wouldn’t Spike say it? I’d say it’s more of an opinion, or opinion then an actual theory. Also, you might want to censor the word ov3rdos3
Kiyos execution was one of the worst for me for multiple reasons 1) He was tied up and spun and dropped for no reason at all 2) He was MELTED AND COOKED ALIVE which would’ve taken hours not seconds and he would’ve been in pain for hours 3) The person he loved the most and practically died for ended up teaming with the enemy and finishing him off I’m sorry but if that’s not insane I don’t know what is.
HEAVY SPOILERS There’s actually a cool theme with each of the trials with each chapter. 1st Trial: The “killer” killed someone due to the actions of someone else. THH: Leon killed out of self defense because Sayaka was trying to kill him. GD: Teruteru was trying to kill Nagito because he heard about his plans to kill someone KH: self explanatory, Kaede was framed by Tsumugi. 2nd Trial: The killers had something to do with some sort of loyalty or trust. THH: Chihiro’s loyalty & Trust towards Mondo got him killed GD: Peko’s loyalty to Fuyuhiko made her kill Mahiru KH: Kirumi’s loyalty towards her people made her kill Ryoma 3rd Trial: the killer was under the influence of someone or something THH: Celeste killed for greed GD: Mikan was under the Dispair Disease + got a blind obsession for Junko. KH: Korekiyo was under the influence of his dead sister. 4th Trial: Deals with some sort of sacrifice. THH: Sakura killed herself as a way to stop everyone from killing eachother GD: Gundham and Nekomaru fought to the death so everyone can leave the fun house. KH: Gonta wanted no one to find out about the outside world like he seemingly had which lead him to kill 5th Trial: considered to be the impossible trial. THH: the trial was rigged against Kyoko and it involved Mukuro’s dead body that, at the time, we (1) never knew it was Mukuro since the body was covered up & exploded to the point of being unrecognizable (2) we didn’t know that Mukuro was disguised as Junko at the beginning. Meaning we’ve already saw her die by the hands of the mastermind. GD: Nagito rigged his own death so that the killer (in this case Chiaki) kills Nagito without her even knowing that she killed him. KH: Kokichi also rigged his death so that the mastermind had ZERO clue who killed who (in this case, Kaito killing Kokichi) 6th and final Trial: pretty obvious, the reveal of the mastermind and what was the despair inducing truth that everyone was waiting for. THH: the Mastermind’s Junko, the entire class knew eachother prior to the events of THH, the apocalypse is going on outside, and now they are all in a school bunker that they made to keep Despair out only to end up being locked with it. GD: Hajime (Izuru Kamakura) was the mastermind, everone is in a simulation made by the Future Foundation, and the class was apart of the remnant of despair (a terrorist group who worshipped Junko) except for Chiaki who was already dead (the Chiaki we know in game was an AI). The reason they’re in the simulation was so that they can reform from being remnants. KH: there’s no canon answer but according to Tsumugi (the mastermind) the events of THH, GD, and UDG we’re all FAKE, and the cast WILLINGLY took part of the killing games.
I feel like kokichi could have defeated the mastermind by not figuring out who the killer is if shuichi and everyone else kept their mouth shut. The game could have ended there, forcing the mastermind to reveal themselves
@@Pieruh at least Shuichi tried to make up for that if it wasn't for Kaito fucking everything up, Shuichi's obssesion over fighting for the truth was shown even on chapter 4, when Kokichi flat out states that truth was never supposed to be found to begin with, this goes even deeper in his philosophy regarding truth and lies
@@etam8099 Also It's was revealed at the end of the game that Nagito somehow kept his memories as a remnant and because of his obsession of hope he decided to kill all the the Class including himself(exept Chiaki)his plan in case 5 was that the others vote his death as suicide so that they all die and Chiaki(who he believed was the real Chiaki)manages to escape the Neo world Programe, but something that he ignored that this Chiaki is actually an AI and that by killing everyone he is literally doing the opposite of what he intended to do because killing everyone is literally what AI Junko wanted
In my opinion, korekiyos execution would be painful if you where him. Imagine just getting spinned around, boiled, and killed by someone you love the most. Imagine the pain he has felt in that moment.
It got a 10 year anniversary worldwide re-release with an rpg, when it started as a game that didn't leave asian shores, and you think it's underrated?
For me, I feel like after school lesson and the 1000 blows are the worst ones. Can you imagine how SCARY those two are?!?! just slowly meeting your fate of you getting crushed, and for the baseballs just hearing and feeling your bones getting crushed? Ugh. It sends chills down my spine.
Yeah....It was really sad... And also Kirumi's...she was so determined and had a hope she will escape...but after all the torture of climbing up on Thorned vine and being cut by saw blades and seeing drawing and cockroach instead of escape and then falling on her head to death... And the fact that considering the height of that vine, she was climbing up for several hours (probabbly 4-5).
I hated Peko’s execution simply because I liked the character. She’s a badass swordswoman and loyal bodyguard to a yakuza. That said, her execution was pretty boss. Probably my favorite because she went down fighting. Though I did cry a bit at the end. Fuyuhiko wanted to save her and it resulted in his injury and her death.
I like the detail that, with all of the other executions, the name of the character who suffered is used, but with After School Lesson, he only says "the victim", because two different characters can end suffering that execution based on the ending.
Nah, you just don’t understand how her execution works. Mentally for her it was horrible. It’s a representation of her getting sexually abused and being forced to be like « happy » about it
Last year they confirmed future games in the franchise, so I'm hoping there will be new main games with new executions (there are a lot they have not done yet)
Honestly I'd like a game of FORMER Ultimate Students in a Killing Game. Think about it; they're all graduates from HPA, and are living lives normally, but are abducted and forced into a killing game. The reason being: maybe someone hated how they go by, example; ' Former Ultimate Detective, Former Ultimate Game Developer ' and view them as using their talents for greed, not being the future Hope as promised

When Katio got out of the spaceship, the very first thing I thought of is 'At least he gets to go to space and died there', that was the best part of the excution because at least he was happy to say the least
In my personal opinion, I think Kirumis Execution was the worst. She had to endure so much pain because she thought she had a chance of escaping.Brutal.
Celestias would have to be my favourite of DR1, and I don’t even like her character as much as others, but I love this because of how Monokuma makes despair out of Celestia more then he did with other culprits. Celestia was made out to believe she’d have a unique death because it was no longer the older centuries and it was modern day for them, and Celestia loved it but NO NO NO! She was thrown into despair for sure when she saw and realised her death would be a common and basic one, a car accident to be more specific.
This is my third comment…. So in Gundham’s execution there might be two explanations behind it 1. The theme of the execution seems to be a reference to Disney's The Lion King: the desert landscape, the stampede, lead by Monokuma riding a buffalo, The Dark Devas of Destruction watching on and coming to his side, and Gundham appearing in the sky at the end are all key references to Mufasa's death. Or 2. Gundham wasn’t do a protection spell on himself, but for The Dark Devas of Destruction so that when he died, they would be harmed Either one, they’re both sad 😢
(Not so) fun fact: In Kaede’s execution, we see Monokid get beheaded and his head on the ground, next to the students. Team Danganronpa initially thought of replacing Monokid’s head with Kaede’s, but then they scrapped the idea because it was too brutal. (This could be fake though, I read it somewhere on another video.)
I think Alter Ego should be a bit high because of one reason… Alter Ego can feel pain. Here’s the reason, In one scene, Kyoko tells Makoto to go to a closet in the girls bathroom with Alter Ego to see if he can hook up Atler Ego to the schools Wi-Fi system, and do all of the hacking and etc. so, Makoto grabs the computer and puts it in the side of his jacket, and Alter Ego says… “Heh that tickles😊” which means Alter Ego can can feel stuff, like physical pain etc. so imagine how painful it was to be crushed into a small ball….
One of the executions that is over the top was chikaki, from the anime because she was basically tortured and her classmates were forced to watch it all happen. It was also gruesome even with the pink blood.
Exections in danganronpa are always mixed with Humor, so Players can find it funny when they die.Chiaki's and kaede's executions are the only ones of the series i didn't find funny at all, cause how much we love them.
There was a lot of deaths that was fun to watch and some made me cry the main to was Chiaki and Gonta mainly since technically they didn't really kill anyone
i remember the first time i saw leon die my stomach dropped his death actually affected me same with discovering nagitos body my stomach felt sick i was actually grieving. amazing that these games can make u feel things like that
Just here to explain the possible train of thought behind Mikan's execution. In the Japanese version, the title card, translated, is "Pain, pain, fly away!". It's a rather basic song to go along with basic first aid for a child's cut. Think of the song, "Pain, pain, go away. Come back here another day." They took the concept of that song and spun it in a literal fashion.
3:52 this actually has a lot more symbolism than one initially realizes, and I'd highly recommend you watch the anime first to figure it out, basically the school's, and by extension Jin's focus and obsession with Talent is what ultimately leads to their downfall: the segregation of the ultimates and the reserve course students, covering up the deaths of the students to make it look like something else, willingly experimenting on a student in order to create what they see as the ultimate hope, and even then they weren't so much just trying to create hope as they were a pawn to follow their bidding, a combination of fear and talent obsession is what allowed Junko to fly under their radar until it was too late, and even when class 78 barricaded themselves in the school after the tragedy, the despair was literally amongst them, so really, should a school with that much flaws in its logic still have the right to be called Hope's Peak?
At least, Leon's, Teruteru's and Gonta's executions are near to both of them and in top 10. My favourites are so close to the first place. So adorable for me!
I don't get how kaido's execution can be so low due to being a repeat yet junko gets the top spot despite being an execution that is just reusing the previous ones
So Here Is Why I HATED Every Second Of Kaede’s Execution:
1. She Wasn’t The Culprit
2. It Lasted 10 Hours, Not 8
3. They Made Her Play On The White Notes So We Know She Wasn’t The BLACKend
Someone also said that the music played is one of the easiest music to play on a piano, adding insult to Kaede's skills.
Actually I belive another reference within Der Flohwalzer is the fact that it 1) is a pretty easy song and 2) it is played on all black keys yet Kaede only steps on white ones, so they are basically mocking Kaede an expert Pianist by making her play a very basic song wrong
Ture she wasn't the culprit it was Tsumugi who killed rantaro
YES I AGREE 😔
@@shahnaaustin302 🚨 MAJOR SPOILER ALERT 🚨
Exactly!
Hands down the most shocking death for me, I will never forget the first time I watched it.
What made celestia's death humilliating?
Is the fact celestia wanted to die in a stake on fire
But instead monokuma killed her with a basic death of being hit by car
I thought it was a fire truck?
A firetruck is still a car
Well it’s was the Firetruck!
I thought it was humiliating for her because burning by the steak is seen in the 1800s as more regal than the modern everyday getting hit by a car/truck. She sees herself as higher class than others so having a "normal"death and maybe a sudden hint of mortality makes this execution despair inducing for her
Celesta really got isekaied
Kaede's execution just hits different. And the fact that we later learn that she was innocent all along makes it even worse. The most brutal execution of the series hands down.
I think what made Kaede's death so cruel and shocking was the initial shock factor we got from the whole protag switch. Not only was her execution so brutal and her wish at the end of the trial made it even more heartbreaking, but the fact she was innocent was just the cherry on top of the 'despair' sundae

Mikan if I recall correctly was s3xually abused, and the arm she was on represented her arm that she harmed. Technically she was being s3xually assaulted in her execution and forced into "ecstasy". Not very pleasant.
It's still the weirdest though.
I think she should’ve gotten a different execution more using her talent. Like being overdosed on medicine.
Oof
It’s also because in the game you can see what she dislikes, and for some reason she dislikes “oversized things.” And I’m guessing it also had to do with the trauma.
I always assumed that the injection caused her to hallucinate, and what we’re seeing is her nonsensical last moments that fuel her despair and thus cause her to become aroused (since that’s how she reacts to despair)
So basically, her brain became overstimulated from whatever she was injected with. My guess is in reality, she was strapped down to that gurney, took the shot, then seized and died. No rockets in reality.

How celestia’s death was iconic

Ultimate Analyst? Does that mean she's also a sort of detective?

On a side note, how tf did she get impaled by like 20 spears, and still lived long enough to try and talk to Izuru-

I think I actually like this one better.
@@spectrumscribble1498 thank you
@@kingtallzilla6919 No problem.
@@kingtallzilla6919 Indeed.
One of my fav series ever, I honestly want more
“not only was the fire put out, celastia was too.” that part got me- 😭
Kaede and her execution were literally the 2 biggest plot twists in the entire franchise. Der Flohwalzer really hits different.
You really had to bring that up....
Mikan’s execution actually has an explanation to its weird execution,
TW: mention of s3xual @buse
Mikan has a background of s3xual @buse, which means this happens before going to Hope’s Peak, and she has Megalophobia, a fear of large/big things.
Every thing Mikan goes through in her execution,
1. A heart attack due to her past
2. Severe burns, since she in flying in the air really fast, maybe like 100 miles per hour, or more.
3. Freezing cold temperatures, she is breaking through the atmosphere
4. Suffocating
But there is a theory that this is just in Mikan's mind. Instead, she dies from an overdose.
@@nate6519 but if it were true, wouldn’t Spike say it? I’d say it’s more of an opinion, or opinion then an actual theory. Also, you might want to censor the word ov3rdos3
Korekiyo's was the most brutal in my opinion
Yeah, I wonder why Celeste is much higher. Being boiled and burned alive is the horrible. But Celeste really burnt a skin....?
Definitely the diva didn't deserve that
Definitly Kaede's Execution or Chiaki's Anime Execution tie first for me, both hurt and were just cruel.
Same
*_And_* done out of *retaliatory spite.*
Worse of all you can hear chiaki screaming in pain
Kaede is my Nr. 1 - not even because of the character, but because of the execution itself
Kiyos execution was one of the worst for me for multiple reasons
1) He was tied up and spun and dropped for no reason at all
2) He was MELTED AND COOKED ALIVE which would’ve taken hours not seconds and he would’ve been in pain for hours
3) The person he loved the most and practically died for ended up teaming with the enemy and finishing him off
I’m sorry but if that’s not insane I don’t know what is.
i think monotaro & monophanie were salting him with his sweat but idk if thats a hc
He was tied up in an ebi or reverse shrimp tie which was a torture method in ancient japan
Kaede's execution is the craziest and saddest.
So kirumi climing a thorny rope and being hit with saws then falling to her death on the floor is less carzy?
@@AranaKai And having 1 of your eye off
HEAVY SPOILERS
There’s actually a cool theme with each of the trials with each chapter.
1st Trial: The “killer” killed someone due to the actions of someone else.
THH: Leon killed out of self defense because Sayaka was trying to kill him.
GD: Teruteru was trying to kill Nagito because he heard about his plans to kill someone
KH: self explanatory, Kaede was framed by Tsumugi.
2nd Trial: The killers had something to do with some sort of loyalty or trust.
THH: Chihiro’s loyalty & Trust towards Mondo got him killed
GD: Peko’s loyalty to Fuyuhiko made her kill Mahiru
KH: Kirumi’s loyalty towards her people made her kill Ryoma
3rd Trial: the killer was under the influence of someone or something
THH: Celeste killed for greed
GD: Mikan was under the Dispair Disease + got a blind obsession for Junko.
KH: Korekiyo was under the influence of his dead sister.
4th Trial: Deals with some sort of sacrifice.
THH: Sakura killed herself as a way to stop everyone from killing eachother
GD: Gundham and Nekomaru fought to the death so everyone can leave the fun house.
KH: Gonta wanted no one to find out about the outside world like he seemingly had which lead him to kill
5th Trial: considered to be the impossible trial.
KH: Kokichi also rigged his death so that the mastermind had ZERO clue who killed who (in this case, Kaito killing Kokichi)
6th and final Trial: pretty obvious, the reveal of the mastermind and what was the despair inducing truth that everyone was waiting for.
Thanks for breaking this down! As many times as I played and watched gameplay of this series, I’m usually left with a lot of questions lol
I feel like kokichi could have defeated the mastermind by not figuring out who the killer is if shuichi and everyone else kept their mouth shut. The game could have ended there, forcing the mastermind to reveal themselves
Monokuma had no idea who killed Nagito either, he just had to move along with what the cast decided and believe in that
@@Pieruh at least Shuichi tried to make up for that if it wasn't for Kaito fucking everything up, Shuichi's obssesion over fighting for the truth was shown even on chapter 4, when Kokichi flat out states that truth was never supposed to be found to begin with, this goes even deeper in his philosophy regarding truth and lies
Bro literally had his spirit melted
Can you make a list of the best cases in the series?
Danganronpa, this great series, is so underrated.
It ain't that underrated
@Kokopium in your opinion
It got a 10 year anniversary worldwide re-release with an rpg, when it started as a game that didn't leave asian shores, and you think it's underrated?
No, you are right.
Kirumi and Korekiyo executions are much more worse
@@ratofficial228no kaede
@@da_catdani The most painful execution in human history is considered being boiled alive
Now I wanna see a list of the top 20 insane Danganronpa body discoveries! ^^
Kaedes execution is just torture. She had to be like that for 10 HOURS. And they insulted her skill by playing the easiest song.
I like the detail that, with all of the other executions, the name of the character who suffered is used, but with After School Lesson, he only says "the victim", because two different characters can end suffering that execution based on the ending.
wasn’t expecting a danganronpa one! i came off the game a while ago but i agree with how brutal most of the executions are
I'm glad we can all agree that Mikan had the worst execution
Absolutely agree with you on there
Yeah
Nah, you just don’t understand how her execution works. Mentally for her it was horrible. It’s a representation of her getting sexually abused and being forced to be like « happy » about it
I must agree
@@lolachan4672that’s exactly why we hate it 💀
Gundhams execution made me feel sad. I mean, it was touching , and he got carried away by his animal friends
Last year they confirmed future games in the franchise, so I'm hoping there will be new main games with new executions (there are a lot they have not done yet)
I doubt it
@Holy Guacamole the Danganronpa series ended without being milked to death FNAF GTA 5 style
the creator confirmed new games are at least possible (as long as his relationship with Spike Chunsoft remains on good terms)
*anime spoiler
The worst death hands down was Chiaki's/Nanami's death. Felt depressed over a fictional character that day
One fact about them all!! (Mostly)
1. bye bye ouchies 0:50
Monokuma used a big arm because one of mikans biggest fears are huge thungs so
2.Ultimate Annihilation 1:44
Junko wasn’t actually there it was either to show that tsunugi was the same as Junko and like accepting her execution or it’s tsumugi cosplaying Junko
3. Excavator Destroyer 2:49
Alter ego actually felt it bc another line he had was “haha it tickles” as the robot meaning alter ego can feel so :(
4.Blast off! 3:47
Jin Kirigiri was the original principle/headmaster of hopes peak and that’s why monokuma executed him so he can headmaster and also Jin is Kyoko kirigiris dad
5.Spears of gungir 4:39
Just have the time bc I don’t have a fact
6. Gundham Tanaka Stampede 5:39
His spell was actually to protect his hamsters not himself
7. Cultural Melting Pot 6:42
His sister had manipulating him into thinking her abuse + S@(I think I just heard it somewhere) was love and that’s why they were like together and then the salt is because in Japanese superstition salt gets rid of ghosts (poor korekiyo)
8.forced shutdown 7:32
I acc don’t know so hum yeah have the time stamp
9.Blast off second incognation 8:30
Before Kaitos execution he said to monokuma “oh yeah? We’ll screw you im not gonna die the way you want” and instead of the execution he died of his illness :3
10.After school lesson 9:34
Kyokos executions is an alternative execution so it’s like a bad ending
11. burning of the Versailles witch 10:31
Celestia wanted to die like a queen so she was happy in the way she was dying so then monokuma made her die a more modern way
12. Strand of agony 11:32
She’s the only one to ever scream in a execution
13. Cage if death
I dunno and I’m not bothered to finish it keeps lagging
When Katio got out of the spaceship, the very first thing I thought of is 'At least he gets to go to space and died there', that was the best part of the excution because at least he was happy to say the least
In my personal opinion, I think Kirumis Execution was the worst. She had to endure so much pain because she thought she had a chance of escaping.Brutal.

Korekiyo is even worse

What about *"Der Flohwalzer" (Kaede's **_wrongful_** execution)?*

Also, kaede was pelted by many rocks during the “performance”
Fun fact about gontas execution:
Gonta could’ve escaped the execution by breaking the chains but due to guilt, he did not and excepted his punishment
The worst thing about the executions is the catchy theme song you can't stop bopping to while the character you love getting killed
Leon’s will always be the most impactful for me cause it was my first introduction for Danganronpa and bruh- the shock factor
Kaedes execution was actually took 8 hours. She took a breath every step on the piano
It’s 12 hours I think so that’s why it’s so brutal
Huh? Alot of people said it was 10 hours??
Celestias would have to be my favourite of DR1, and I don’t even like her character as much as others, but I love this because of how Monokuma makes despair out of Celestia more then he did with other culprits. Celestia was made out to believe she’d have a unique death because it was no longer the older centuries and it was modern day for them, and Celestia loved it but NO NO NO! She was thrown into despair for sure when she saw and realised her death would be a common and basic one, a car accident to be more specific.
This is my third comment….
So in Gundham’s execution there might be two explanations behind it
Or
2. Gundham wasn’t do a protection spell on himself, but for The Dark Devas of Destruction so that when he died, they would be harmed
Either one, they’re both sad 😢
I love Danganronpa and all of the top 10s and twenties you make for it
(Not so) fun fact: In Kaede’s execution, we see Monokid get beheaded and his head on the ground, next to the students. Team Danganronpa initially thought of replacing Monokid’s head with Kaede’s, but then they scrapped the idea because it was too brutal. (This could be fake though, I read it somewhere on another video.)
I think Alter Ego should be a bit high because of one reason…
Alter Ego can feel pain.
Here’s the reason,
In one scene, Kyoko tells Makoto to go to a closet in the girls bathroom with Alter Ego to see if he can hook up Atler Ego to the schools Wi-Fi system, and do all of the hacking and etc. so, Makoto grabs the computer and puts it in the side of his jacket, and Alter Ego says… “Heh that tickles😊” which means Alter Ego can can feel stuff, like physical pain etc. so imagine how painful it was to be crushed into a small ball….

One of the executions that is over the top was chikaki, from the anime because she was basically tortured and her classmates were forced to watch it all happen. It was also gruesome even with the pink blood.

Gundham wasn't trying to protect himself, he was trying to protect his hamsters 😭❤
