I got a 2005 206 2.0hdi and cant fault it at all. Only cost me £850. Very well mantained by the previous owner. Just worn out parts in his ownership and in mine. I have it for 2 years and 7 months.
Many issues in cars has to do with who works on them. I personally would have a french car over a german car.

2 questions. 1. How do you decide which part of plate you would make for earthing? 2. After earthing, only 1 light is on. What should i change?

I destroyed the black ball, what is between the individual connections, is this ball important or not?

This fix definitely work, but it's still an unnecessary botched job.
I curse and swear every time I've got to "add" additional wires it looks bad and add more potential failure points, overly complicating without any real need.
The logic behind it is quite simple if it worked before, why shouldn't it work now and in the future. The failure and consecutive burn is due to loose contact between the mating surfaces (male&female). The tab loose pressure creating a flimsy contact and added resistance to the circuit. That's why it burn... ;-)
I've been faced with this issue before in several cars. The solution is remarkably simple and effective.
Remove the concerned terminal from the plug. A tiny screwdriver is enough to press the terminal tab and pull it off. Clean the contact surfaces. Gently bend the contact surface of the terminal, to increase pressure when it's set in place.
Replace terminal into the plug. Clean the contact(s) on other side (light fixture).
Assemble everything as OEM. Enjoy for years to come.
Additional step, surely not an obligation but personally I never skip it.
Add a tiny dab of vaseline or any contact corrosion protection of your choice. ;-)
      NOTE/TIP/WARNING:
NEVER wank the plugs, to pull them off or set them on, or for "test" purposes. That's in most case scenarios the main reason why the tabs get bent in the first place and end up loosing pressure. ;-)
Same for relays, plugs, fuses, etc, etc...
      Cheers
