The resistor controls the fan speed so when it goes out usually only 1 speed might work, something like that. When the motor goes out it may stop all together or make a lot of noises. Good luck hope you get it.
On my Corolla 06, I started having issues with the fan not working or pushing air out the vents . So by chance I tapped the fan knobs thinking I could start the fan blowing the air. It worked but the next day no air. Then yesterday had some air but not as strong on high. So then I would have to replace the blower motor AND resistor? Thanks in advance 🤠
just replaced the blower motor today,,2006 corolla,,,but now i need the resistor,,,was 91 at my local oreillys,,,20ish on amazon,,,,,,really wish i could spend my money locally,,,,but savin 65 bucks in 2023 is huge
Hi Sir..My 2010 toyota corolla does not blow air hot or cold, i don't know if the problem is the BLOWER A/C FAN CONTROL SWITCH or theA/C Heater Blower Motor Fan or the resistor. It does blows very weak cold air barely noticeable in any number 1 to 4 on the control switch. What is your opinion. I don't want to buy the wrong part. Thank for your response!
Thanks for watching and sorry to hear about your Toyota. Its hard to know without being there to check it out unfortunately. Sorry I can't be of more help and good luck, hope you get it fixed.
Awesome. Love your instructional videos. I just replaced my resistor except it starts raining and had to abandon my project for a couple days of rain. Consequently, I lost the mounting screws for the resistor. I’m Not young and I’m not a guy. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks for watching and the kind feedback on my videos. That sucks you got rained out and the mounting screws ran away! I think your best bet is to call your local Toyota parts department and ask them the mounting screw size. They should be able to sell them to you, if they don't stock them they should be able to tell you the size so you can get elsewhere. Let me know what they say, I'm sure they can help!
Sup Todd , can you please make a video on how to change the light bulbs in the havack unit please I can’t seem to find a actual video that’s good quality and informative enough .
I have a 2003 Toyota Carola, and the passenger square is pushed in on the dash under where the stereo is. All I have to do is push it in, but I can't get to it because of the pace plate on the front. Do you have a video on how to get in the back without taking the dash apart? Or any sudgestions please?
Two things, can see the damage to the resistor or is there a way to test it since I'm not sure if the resistor in my car is bad, and why didn't you end the video by turning on the fan?
thanks for the instructions Todd! However I am missing one piece. My corolla -03 has no opening beneath the fan. Is it some sort of hiden way in. If not I will have to remove the whole fan to get to my resistor, which I think is placed just like yours. That would be a project I think.
Hi Jonas, thanks for watching. I don't think you should have to remove the blower motor, it should be just like in this video. Sorry I don't know for sure without being there to see it.
I just got finished replacing the blower and resistor in my daughter's 07 Corolla while it's raining here in Arkansas, it fixed the blower only having one speed, but I noticed that there was water all under the dash, do you no if those cars have a problem with water leaks when it rains or the A/C condensation hose clogging up, if it is the con hose is it a hard fix? And thanks for the video I was watching it while I replaced the resistor. 👍
@@ToddsGarage Todd, I had the same problem on a Honda Civic. There was a drain hose that came out under the car from the vent at the top. I put a shop vac against the hose and it sucked out some of the junk that had clogged the hose. You can also blow air into it if you can find a source for that much air. It wound up being easy on my Honda Civic, but haven't seen the problem on my 2006 Toyota Controlla yet.
my 2002 1.4 L corolla is working on high blow only...so would you say i need to replace this resistor ...the blower works ok...but only on high setting?
I can't seem to figure out how to get the connector loose. I've tried pressing the button and trying to wiggle it loose, but it won't come loose. What am I doing wrong or is it melted in place?
Hell of a lot easier than spending 400+ on a new motor+resistor repair job. Thanks dude.
Thanks Todd. You are a champion putting these videos up! From Australia :)
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you and keep posting great videos
Thank you for watching I appriciate it!
Thank you! What a life saving video. Able to order and change relay. Wife is happy, I’m happy.
Thanks for the video. It’s really helpful. I too had the same problem but how would you know if it’s the resistor not the blower motor? Thanks

@@motherboard424 I wouldn't stress about it. Thanks again for watching and good luck on the repair. Curious to know what they say!

I needed this info thanks Todd!!!!!

Hii. Is this the reason that cause to the blower sometimes work and sometimes not work?? Thank you

Hard to know for sure without being there to see it. But that is a common issue when the resistor is bad. Good luck hope you get it figured out!
Awesome video thanks bud!
Thanks for watching!
fantastic and thank you!!
Thank-you Todd!
Thanks my yaris toyota saved by TODD
This was a great tutorial, and I followed the steps, however it looks like mine has the faulty switch connectors
Thanks for watching, Hope you are able to get your car fixed.
Good gob I have corla 2003 from Iraq am Waugh you
Thank you for watching! I appriciate it!
I can't seem to figure out how to get the connector loose. I've tried pressing the button and trying to wiggle it loose, but it won't come loose. What am I doing wrong or is it melted in place?
I had to use brute force to push in the button at the side!
I replaced the blower motor and the resistor and nothing happened. What should I try next?
Thank u for your video
Thank you appreciate you watching!
Todd I'm having trouble taking it out
I feel like mine could be the switch itself because I hit the dash and it starts working .. is that common?
Hi and thanks for watching, its hard to know for sure and can be multiple things unfortunately. Good luck and hope you get it fixed.
Any problems not using OEM? The price difference of over $120 is insane.
For me it has been working great, I like to buy OEM when I can, but not usually in the budget!
Show me how to replace AC button on dashboard
I can't pop off the wire harness connector thingy
Hardest part of the job when I did it
Second hardest part for me. The two screws holding the resistor in place were rusted 😅
Sorry, I've only ever done my starter and battery lol.
Someone has the serial number?
Great video! Thanks
Thanks Todd great vid.
Thanks for watching, glad it helped!
